  1. Slowly plugging away, you say?? I'd say that's a heck of an update Clay. You've been busy. I absolutely love following along on this journey. Such precision.
  2. Go BIG or go home!!
  3. Looking great Chris. I too, love those body panels. How many years in the making and now you're down to crunch time. At least the to-do list is getting shorter. Looking forward to this one being on the table at DSC X.
  4. OK John - keep your panties on!! Here's a few pics of my slow process. Here's the one door that's done with it cracked open so you can see the hinges at work. Here's the same door from the interior so you can see how the hinges are set up. And here's a pic of the remaining set of hinges. The closer one needs to be remade as its too short. Each door takes four hinges. The hinges are made from aluminum printing plate bent around the hinge pin which is piano wire, and shaped by using the ends of my metal rulers to get a crisp, clean bend. That's all for now. Hopefully some serious benchtime in this weekend. That's my plan anyway.
  5. Steve - you won't be disappointed. There are so many highly skilled craftsmen attending that you won't believe it. There's also a BBQ afterwards that you'd be welcome to attend. Look me up.
  6. Well, one hinged door is on and the other side is giving me fits. I glued on the body hinges and have been test fitting and then sanding down the door to get it to fit. The door hinges were made and when I went to attch them the body hinges came unglued. I hope to get this done tonight so I can move on to getting the roof on.
  7. Personally, I think they're too big. Maybe something like shopping cart wheels in scale? Whatever you decide should be killer.
  8. Chris - I'm itchin' and a twithin' for an update. I've got Army Vega on the brain.
  9. Now that is cool, right there. I don't care who you are. What a surprise to be on that list. Big thanks lil' brother. Now, enough of this foolishness and get back to work.
  10. Spectacular update. No wonder this vehicle moved so fast, it looks like it was fed Mountain Dew.
  11. Nice appetizer Art...where's the entree? That chassis is superb!!
  12. I think you could "adjust" that camber with a little massaging of the plastic. I've built these tubular axles and they never seem to end up perfectly straight up and down. That picture above is awesome with the car apart and on your cutting board. With the exception of the headers, parachute, nails and the grid on your cutting board, I'd swear it was real. When I get to building a 1/16th dragster, I'll probably make one out of aluminum.
  13. Looks like I'm going to be visiting Barnes and Noble soon. Thanks for the heads up.
  14. Now that I like, a lot.
  15. Man, that looks awesome in black. I'm sure there was alot of body work under that paint judging by the way you put this together and its so seamless. Outstanding. That took care of my fix John. Thanks.
  16. Come on Johnny...I know you've been keeping these guys busy so where's the update? I'm starting to twitch and its not pretty.
  17. Yea, what he said. I've got this Willys on the brain and its starting to hurt. Get us an update please.
  18. I know you never give your minions any time off so you've got to have something new to share with us. I've got Streamliner on the brain and need a fix.
  19. Right on the money Ty. Loving this build as well as your other one you've got going on.
  20. Everytime I look at this frame, I just have a hard time coming to the realization that Big Daddy wanted a white frame. Almost all of his vehicles were black. Don't get me wrong lil' brother, I love that its white as it shows detail better and you have that in spades.
  21. This is progressing nicely. Very well done. Glad you had an extra Parts pack for the headers.
  22. Work on this has been slow but I want to get it finished for DSC next month so I've got to get moving. Thanks for your interest.
  23. You have been busy Clay. Looks awesome and just like you put the real 1:1 parts on a copier and reduced them to 1:16. I need one of those copiers. "D
  24. That is too cool. Casters and paint looks like all that's left then you can get back to that gorgeous engine.
