  1. Oh yea!! I need to get mine out of the box and build the dang thing. Great looking build Bernard.
  2. Thanks for the info Greg. Been working on the base but first I had to source a turntable so i knew what size to cut the plywood. Got the last of the trees made too. Added a small incline on the back edge of the base and got it all covered with Plaster Cloth last night. I'll get some pictures up tonight.
  3. Uh oh...I feel another episode of willysitis coming on. Guess I'm not completely cured. Man, I really hope to be able to view this in person one day.
  4. Man are those nice. What are you going to use for a light source also how and with what are you going to power them?
  5. Looks great Chris but come on, stop stalling. Get back to that monster of an engine. Stop putting it off.
  6. Very well thought out and engineered. I get s chuckle every time I see Charlie Brown with the gas can.
  7. That's got to be tricky getting the doghouse to fit tight to the windshield. I know you'll nail it though, as you do everything else.
  8. Oh...I feel so much better now. That's was just what the doctor ordered. Great googly-moogly but that's some beautiful stuff. Looking forward to more updates as the day wears on.
  9. Willys on the brain here too. It must be contageous. Art - your the only one with the cure. Help us out, will ya?
  10. Thanks Danno. I'm stoked they came out looking so good and once I get some Static Grass, I think they'll look even better. I plan on working on the base this weekend once I determine a size.
  11. Thanks so much Tom. I really appreciate your insight and thoughtfulness. I like to build 'busy not cluttered.'
  12. Spectacular update Art. Really looking forward to seeing this one all wrapped up. Wish I could see it in person.
  13. Thanks so much Rob. Now that this build has expanded beyond just the camper, I started a new thread in the Dioramas section. That is where I'll be posting my progress on building the base.
  14. Thanks much CJ. Here's a couple of shots of the trees so far. There are two larger trees and two smaller trees with one of the smaller ones partially done and the other still needs limbs. Once completed, they'll need a dousing of Static Grass applied with aerosol hair spray. I'm having a challenge sourcing some Static Grass locally so I may have to order online. On to the shots. These are quite easy to do but you need to use the right materials. Wooden dowels, Natural Aire furnace filters, white glue and some paint. I'm quite pleased with them so far and don't compare to the cheepo ones in the stores. Comments welcome.
  15. Been working on the base and have concentrating on making some tall pine trees from furnace filters and dowels. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow.
  16. Oh...he's cool Greg. Thanks for the info. On edit: I see it is out of stock at Walther's.
  17. Oh there's plenty on my to-do list - not to mention the wife's to-do list for me.
  18. I was kinda thinking it might need an appropriate tow vehicle. Guess I'll need to rethink the base size i had planned. Thanks alot guys.
  19. I still think you need to paint the chassis orange.
  20. Thanks very much Rob. This new base is causing me to lerarn new modeling skills. Right now I'm working on making tall pine trees. I didn't like the look of anything at the LHS so I'm making my own. Stay tuned.
  21. Thanks guys. Stay tuned as I begin the process of making a base for this.
  22. Thanks Danno. I really appreciate your feedback. It was a ton of fun to build and put together. Here's a few pictures from the show. As you can see. I put a firepit together with some little rocks from my driveway and a few twigs from a tree in the backyard, which a few of them got burnt on the ends. I even added a little tuft of cotton for smoke. Got the red decals applied along with a few extra scale water slide decals. Thanks for following along. Comments always welcome.
  23. Thanks John and Art. I really appreciate your comments. Art - we really missed you at DSC.
  24. Just what the Dr. ordered. Hooters and strip just go together. LOL
