  1. Consider yourself cordially invited good sir
  2. I'm definately watching this! I love the Old blown Bentleys.
  3. go for it mate
  4. Wow! long drive. The best hobby store near me is over an hour away by car. the local is okay, but they only stock those horrible runny humbrol paints. Real hobby stores stock Tamiya spray packs. Ahh Tamiya... my secret love
  5. Alright guys, a new CBP is up. The Glue Bomb Invitational. Anyone can join in on the fun, and I'm alowing a whopping 12 months on this one. Rules: You must start with a glue bomb / paint bomb or somewhat partially tarnished model, preferably one that would otherwise be chucked out. Otherwise, just go crazy and build whatever you can. I'm going to be combining a 1990 F250 glue bomb with a 1953 Corvette, also pretty far gone. This, could get tricky... Best of luck guys, register now!
  6. Okay guys I'll start the CBP elsewhere.
  7. Currently building a 59 Ford Galaxie with some period sixties mods. ie. pinstriping and Torq Thrust wheels.
  8. I personally have made a steer away from super glue, it's terrible to use and leaves a nasty white glaze on the jointing points. Each to there own but Hasegawa make a great glue also, a little thicker than humbrol, so it doesn't run, and it bonds just as good.
  9. I haven't done anything "that" bad have I?
  10. Alright guys, a new CBP, "The Glue Bomb Invitational" Re-build a car from a glue bomb. Only rules : Car must be a glue bomb, beyond that go crazy I'm in with my F250 single cab. It'll look pretty shagged but still pretty nice.
  11. Donk kits are great if you want to build a stocker and use the wheels on a project that could properly make use of them, other wise there junk. Should we do this guys? like, look at it from this perspective, we could call it "The Average Joe-verhaulin" where you build a car up from a glue bomb/ paint bomb or a base kit and modify it so that it appears to have been overhauled by your average blue collar bloke. I'm in if we can do it? say make the cars look like a $20,000 restoration project?
  12. 67 Dodge charger lol. I don't want to make it look like the hotwheels, but more like what hotwheels should have done.
  13. that's true, however I've found with humbrol glues that if both contact surfaces are not only clean but lightly sanded parts will stay on much better. I think the sand paper creates grooves in the part and therefore makes channels for the glue to sit in and set hard.
  14. So far I've turned the cab into a single cab and have the rest of the parts swimming in the dot 4 pond. I'm de-chroming the bumpers also. I'm thinking some serious body mods here. Caddy tails maybe? hmmm....
  15. actually it can be done (I love building dodges) but it's a really tight squeeze and you will run the risk of ruining the paint on your headers.
  16. Hey guys. Unfortunately due to some unforseen financial issues I'll have to sit this one out. I do sincerely appologise. But I will keep watching the thread to see it eveolve. I do still plan to build a 67 Dodge, only the hotwheels isn't even close to the custom dream rod I have in my head
  17. Keep at it mate, it's going to look awesome! love the grille!
  18. Samuel Cheal's 1959 Ford Galaxie. Here's the car I'm replicating guys. It's my mates 1959 Ford Galaxie he bought and restored (at home)whilst living in the US. Here it is after being picked up from the importers. A mate of his did the pinstriping by hand. Yes, I'm even putting in the Bandana that is tied arounf the steering column. Stock engine with a 4 barrel Holley Carb and air cleaner.
  19. No worries mate, I'll re-do the pics soon under more intense lighting.
  20. Wow Terry! your daughter has an amazing voice!
  21. Man some people have all the luck. My ex bought me the MPC General Lee Kit. IT'S HORRIBLE!!! lol
  22. definately looking like the hotwheels mate!
  23. Now that is one cool truck!
