The Cars of Rock 'n' Roll and Country Music
DiscoSpud replied to CorvairJim's topic in Community Builds
My camera is a brand newby and is actually quite good. I have very poor lighting in my hobby room so perhaps some shots outside when the weather clears up will be a good idea. -
Oh bugger, i've done the reverse a few times, hotrod becomes rat rod lol

"Well up in the back woods down in the holler, ol'd boy's swingin' like a dog on a collar, keepin' that chain pulled tight, waitin' on Saturday night. Put on the smell good put on Skynyrd, head into town like a NASCAR winner, cruisin' back and forth to the Tasty Freeze, everywhere you look, all you see is......." HILLBILLY DELUXE -
it could be done, only issue is the foose wheels.... you wouldn't be able to get them spot on obviously.

Pegasus wheel dealers in Australia???
DiscoSpud replied to DiscoSpud's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Cheers guys, i got onto scae dreams and yes there site is a bit strange to navigate..... we'll see how we go, I need large rims for my 53 beetle build, otherwise it's a trip to the lazercutter co make some custom ones, which actually is still on the cards. PVC sleeves, rubber sleeves and custom cut centres so i can set the offset wherever the $&%^ I want it I'm even thinking of getting into brasswork on this one to give me something to do at uni next year so i don't have to abondon the hobby entirely. -
You know what's funny mate, i was in a toyworld store the other day and there on the shelf was a Kenworth truck and trailer with American flags coverring it. No offence intended to our US members, but the company that made this have got there minds off in space. Kenworth Trucks are manufactured in Australia using drivetrains imported from Dana and Eaton Fuller in the us. Therefore the Kenworth brand is Australian owned. My source: Kenworth Sales team leader - Brisbane truck show.

How Many Hours Per Week Do You Spend Modeling?
DiscoSpud replied to XJ6's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No worries mate, for me sometimes if i get sick of building hotrods, I'll build rat roda, and if i get sick of cars that are slammed to the ground.... I do a stupid thing and buy a "donks" kit lol/ Keeps the flow going anyways. -
hey guys, quick update. I have fully prepared the chassis and the engine and headers are installed in my '59. When my health picks up I'll get to work on the multi-piece body. I am ambitious about this but will approach it with caution.
-
Definately the icon mate

Sounds sweet man, I'm going to uni myself soon so i'm just gonna stock up on kits and resin pieces and go nuts when i get back down here.

Oh man it was a properly engineered Drift pig! I reckon he spent $700 on the intercooler and radiator piping just to get it both look and flow right. He was so into this car that he knew that if the pipe bends were off by just s tiny bit that it just wouldn't run right and the dyno proved that! I'll get pics soon.

Don't stress mate, it's good of you to build a nic truck for your dad. If I'm to be honest it usually takes me about four hours just to prep a chassis for paint and detailing! Kudos to you mate!

Hey guys! I got my '59 today. Openned the kit and it looks as though all the pieces for the body are straight so it should go together well, just having issues finding pics of my mates car.
-
I just got the kit today and will be replicating my mates galaxie he had imported to australia. Getting a start on it today and will be converting to a hard top. He has a subwoofer in the trunk too so this will be fun to source!
