Randy would you be at all disturbed if I said I was nursing a semi right now? This is the most gorgeous and detailed rat rod I have ever seen! I was thinking, wow working steering that's just amazing, but then i saw the fuel line plubing and the vaccuum advance on the distributor and I lost it! Well done mate, this level of detail is even more than you would expect from the Franklin Mint collection!

MPC Dukes of Hazzard 1/16th scale Charger
DiscoSpud replied to Dragline's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wouldn't say i'm an expert on the general but this kit looks... well.. okay But for me these are the bad points, and i mean no offence but i wish the manufacturers could recitfy this: -Roll cage sits at least 2-3" (in scale) lower than the 1:1 car -01 Graphics are far too wide, should be skinnier Good points: Much more detail in the engine bay and exhaust components then the 1/25th scale version just my two cents anyway, witha bit of effort it should look great. I find the transfers in these kids are incredibly forgiving too. -
Maybe look fro sprue kits on ebay? they should be easy to find. Again it's a huge hobby but yes in remote areas it's hard to get the parts. You know what's funny? I went into the hobby shop yesterday and they'd just gotten in a shipment of new kits, and low and behold there's the cadillac I'm after... well bugger me if I didn't say I was after one just a few hours before i went in store!

Terrible Kits You Love!
DiscoSpud replied to Chuck Most's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The General lee model kit is one i hate but love. It was an anniversary present from my ex girlfriend of 9 months and I have put in as much detail as possible but i do have my qualms. None of the parts lign up at all, none of them! and the engine bay is so booring! they havent even molded in the dixie horn So i removed the roll cage (because it sat way too low and franly looked ridiculous and added weathering and the all important CB aerial. looks okay but I gotta have the lee -
Sweet Idea man! hopefully you can get the right height lower in the rear?

Here's My pride and joy! Her name's Quazzie, which is a reference ofcourse to Quazzie Modo. She got this name because on the way to Deniliquin (Aus) for the Annual Ute Muster, the tray was so full of Swags and camping gear that she looked like a hunchback She's a 1999 Holden Rodeo Dual Cab with the late model '03 Intercooled Turbo diesel engine installed. It has: -Dixie Air Horn -Eaton Fuller Shifter Knob -$2,000 Pioneer / Jensen Audio / Clarion Stereo -Toyota Landcruiser Bullbar -Toyota Hilux Rollover bars -BNS side skirts I'll post uyp some more recent pics soon

Model kit I'd love to see
DiscoSpud replied to AK_Invader's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would too actually, I think you can only get diecast atm, but I'll look into it for ya mate -
I have an idea, see if you can convince a Games Workshop guy to give you a Skull or a skeleton warriors sprue, you could use these parts to make unique parts like a shift lever made out of a femur with a skull atop it? Just an idea but this build is definately headed in a creepy, messed up direction and I like it, keep going mate, i'm behind ya all the way!

Here's a recent pic of me on my Huffy. I've lost a lot of weight since then.... thank god!

I'll post up picks of my 49 ford for rear suspension height. What I did was use a dremel tool to notch the chassis rails (like they do on lowriders) then removed the leaf springs and replaced them with four link / air bag suspension. This looks great and should give you a drop of around 5" in 1:1 scale, depending on the model ofcourse.

this makes me want to build a custom edsel I love them, but they cop such a bad wrap from car critics. Honestly there such beautiful cars, great build mate!

there's a guy on here who does it really well, check out any builds with KE20 in the headline, it's mostly converted camber angle and cush but it should be a good help
