  1. Cool steve, looks great without frenched headlights too! You can probably tell my suspension is heavily modified. I never leave suspension alone lol. Check out my 49 ford build when you can, it'll be my first four-link suspension job yet
  2. Cheers rob, the paint is Dulux Matte purple, looks alright I reckon!
  3. Cheers randy, should see some more progress this weekend once I pick up some plasticard
  4. Hey guys, here's my latest kit! I've already completed the roof chop and hidden the rear wheel arches entirely. I'm now working on paint and chassis parts to finish the car off.
  5. Hey guys, Here is my next planned build. I found this picture on Jalopy Journal and just had to have a go at building my own interpretation. More pics soon, but for now here is the inspiration image. My model will be riding in the weeds with 18" chrome wheels, a huge ford v8 from the Revell 32 ford coupe kit and a gloss orange paint job. New progress images will be up tomorrow evening. Keep watching this space!
  6. Sorry guys, I've been getting a bit behind on this one. I'll be making a trip to the hobby store over the border to pick up some nice little bits and bobs, and hopefully another kit or two. Depending on what's there I might make a start on The Brooks N Dunn Hillbilly Deluxe 1980s Modified Toyota More to come, so keep watching this space!
  7. Hey Guys! Here is my 1949 Mercury Coupe, started 5 years ago I only just finished it last week, unfortunately as a result of moving interstate I have lost the windshield. I tinted the glass red just for something different, but appart form a larger Pontiac GTO radiator this is a complete OOTB build.
  8. Hey Guys! Here is my 1939 Chevrolet Coupe Custom.
  9. Hey Guys! Here is my completed 1932 Ford 5 Window Coupe. This is my second OOTB (Out of the Box) build. I wanted to keep it nice and simple, but with all of todays custom trimmings. So I went for the steel wheel kit on wide tyres with chrome hubcaps and dress trims, a period cream paintjob and a red interior. I chose the chrome shift lever with the piston shifter knob because it looks awesome, and went with it. I loved building this kit and would definately do it again only a bit more custom, perhaps bright orange with a blown engine and centreline drag wheels. Pictures below!
  10. That's actually one of many of my dream cars right there!
  11. God I don't even want to think about how hard it'd be to model my first car! Haha it was a 1978 Triumph 2500S with ghost flames, racing stripes and a black to silver gradual base to roof colour fade. It took three weeks to paint the 1:1, I'll have to see if any company actaully makes triumph models.
  12. those transparent coolant hoses in the japanese car are awesome! i wish i'd have thought of that. I've learnt personally not to dicriminate, as there are so many amazing innovations in the custom car world that are just awesome. We may not understand it or even think that all of it is cool, but we should accept it for what it is and perhaps learn more. I want to build old japanese cars into my collection now, like a proper Rx3 savanna or an old 70s corolla. mostly I just have fords atm.
  13. Hey guys, for anyone who wanted to know, this is what a real mini moke actually looks like. This is actually my father's car so i have the actual vehicle to reference from. I've also added more images of the completed chassis.
  14. Sorry GT, but I tried to post pictures of the comp, eted chassis and an actual mini moke for reference but I'm having some issues, I'll post them up shortly.
  15. I'm going to watch this build with eager eyes! i love the old slingshot style dragsters! Best of luck mate!
  16. This is what i have so far: -Red Gloss Paint job with yellow accented blue flames. -Blown 350 Chev. -44" tyres. Time to go to work
  17. Cheers Mate, I'll get right on it! now to find a toyota kit, perhaps the black back to the future kit may work? as for the huge tyres, some digging I think
  18. Whoa, check out evil Herbie! What an awesome build mate! You know some just cannot get a Volksrod right, but you've done a brilliant job, this is very inspiring!
  19. I assume this charger is made by the smae team that did the general lee charger, all the same kit flaws show through, like the cage that sits low. Lol I got so upset with the cage that I parts boxed it. Not to downtalk your girlfriend mate, she's done a fantastic job, pitty the Charger kit isn't what i was hoping it to be, oh well I plan to find a good kit and make up the Fast and Furious Charger one day anyways. Thankd for sharing, and tell her to keep up the good work!
  20. Can anyone confirm for me? it's the first truck you see in the clip, and basically the hero car for the entirety of the clip. I've been keen to build thid for a while!
  21. Put me Down for: Brooks 'n' Dunn - Hillbilly Deluxe I need to do some more reserach into the truck used in the video clip but I'll get back to you. All I know is the interior will feature "Black Denim" and the wheels and exterior must feature chrome. I think based on what I've seen in the clip it's a highly modified 1984 Toyota Hilux Single cab with a highly modified blown 350 chev. I'll let you know hoe it progresses. Do we reserve the right to back out if all goes up a certain creek without a paddle? Getting decent kits in australia is a pain, but I'll make an effort!
  22. Hey guys, I'm fairly new here but I've been an avid modeller for many years. Anyway, while between builds I got bored and looking at the mountain of sprue and spare parts I had, came up with a plan. I decided I'd cut down one of my old 1936 Ford flathead V8 engine blocks and turn it into a Mini Moke four cylinder just for S'n'Gs, but after seeing that, I found my old 350 Chevy blower kit, and test fitted that with some Blu Tac. Getting even more inspired, I then built a tubular frame subframe using sprue, and then dived head first into my parts box, looking for any cool bits. Here's what I found: I then began to make the complete front end including custom made coil-over suspension, and a pose-able front end steering rack (This means the front wheels can be turned for when taking photos) Here's the progress so far. It's so far only two solid days work, but hopefully soon I'll find some plasticard and get started on the body pannels and then make the flip front end. Sadly progress will be slow until i can afford to make the trip to my nearest hobby store (roughly 70 km) but I will update this thread with rear suspension and perhaps some more framing when I get some more useful sprue.
  23. Actually come to think of it i would be keen to build up a model like this one, but to my own design, what manufacturer makes this kit? My local toy store will order in anything I like. Pays to be a loyal customer
  24. I am assuming those are 1997 Lamborghini Diablo SV wheels from a die cast model? nice touch! This is going to be an awesome build to watch, this sort of custom is right up my alley!
  25. It's not easy but it's fun nonetheless. Get your hands on some LEDs and a flasher board from an electronics store that alternates between two coloured or bright white LEDs (your choice really) then get some clear thin plastic sheet and scratch build some covers, paint these with blue / red transparent colours then make a plasticard base ad centre divider and you're set. Hope this helps!
