  1. This is what I'm talking about! Now you can put appropriate cloths on them, wait a minute....are we playing with dolls now? You know if they put Barbie dolls in 1/24 or 1/25 scale that might work! If we could position arms and legs would also be nice. Like this.
  2. I agree we need more realistic 1/24 or 1/25 scale figures but, why are the female figures always in bikinis or other sexy apparel? Is this really realistic? How many times do you walk in a repair shop and find women in bikinis? I would like to see some in clothes more realistic.
  3. I think it's a REAL Rabbit. This one could be a fooler.
  4. Welcome Simon! Don't overlook the Johnny Lightning '64 GTO, in my opinion a great kit. It is 1/24 scale but, looks great on the shelf with the 1/25 scale AMT '65. A picture for you, hope you don't mind.
  5. Nice, only one thing, we need more pictures! I love it, really!
  6. Thanks Eric, same goes for you!
  7. I love your circle track cars Eric! Here are a couple of mine. I've been working on the number 2 today.
  8. Thanks for all the kind words everybody! It was a fun project and turned out better then I expected. Thanks for all the encouragement.
  9. I'm excited about this one Doc! Watching you do one of your favorites in shiny, it doesn't get any better!!!
  10. Nice!!! I like the bright orange inside. Can't wait to see decals, nice progress.
  11. I'm going to slow down and let the paint dry. Here are my brush painted whitewalls drying on the bench and waiting for some Dullcote.
  12. Welcome to the Forum, I think you will like it here, there is always lots of help and plenty of encouragement. If I'm not mistaking that looks like an old "Tweetie Pie " kit from Revell. It would have an opening door on the passenger side and a shorter frame then the AMT issue. Anyway, nice subject matter! I love old "T"s and there are plenty of ways to build them. I'll be watching.
  13. [/quote Thanks, here are the products I used. I first painted the body silver, (about 50 years ago probably Testors silver), then I began useing the rust powders. Since this was one of my first tries at weathering I just chose a scrap body out of my parts box, (the old "T" body). I dusted the body with AIM Products medium rust 10-3108 ( from my lhs) then applied Testors Dullcoat and some more rust powder while it was still wet. Repeated this untill I got the effect I liked. I later bought some 10-3109 new fresh rust and added that for effect. The powders are fun but, a real mess to work with. I would suggest useing them over a box to retrieve what falls off. I used the Poly Flake on the seats and the Zing on the headliner purchased at Hobby Lobby.
  14. Sweet! You made it right by useing a FORD drivetrain in it I see! What was the source of the engine? Nice job on the detailing, I love it!
  15. That looks way to nice to be put away in a box and forgotten! Maybe it had something to do with the decals being wrong, no I think it may have been the BMF (I hate that stuff). I have done that, the one that comes to mind is a SS454 pickup, I put it away for over 10 years. I used to do that all the time, paint them and put them away, that's the part I enjoy the most. I would let my son build them when he was growing up, he never liked to paint them. Thanks for sharing and the memories.
  16. That's what I'm talking about! YES!!!!!! Thanks guys!
  17. Thanks to everyone else for your positive comments! The model is now on display at my local hobby shop, "Toys Forever Models and Hobby".
  18. Thanks, Jason. The lights came from an old Monogram '34 Ford. The reason they are so high is because I mounted them on the shock perches on the '40 ford axel. I could imagine them shining on the tires as it is going down the road and turning with the wheels going around the corners. OK, I re-read your question I thought you said tall lights. The TAILIGHTS are from a source unknown to me. A friend last night at my club told me they were VW front fender turn signals. I think he is wrong but, I don't know the source.
  19. Thanks Jeff, I'm just getting a little excited, expected things to move a little faster. I was beginning to feel all alone here. I'll just finish it and start another.
  20. Are we going to do this? No one has posted in a while, I had a hard time finding this thread, let's keep it going. Anybody? Some inspiration please! AMT '32 Fords, I know you've got 'em.
  21. Nice presentation on a beautiful model! Had to go back after reading comments and could not believe only four pictures. Very professional! Wish I could learn from this. Top up, top down, interior, engine, nice detail on all! Colors pop, best I've seen on this kit.
  22. Hoses added and it is now "Under Glass", thanks.
  23. The angled plug boots are an illusion, the wires are just superglued to the sparkplugs then touched up with Testors rubber paint. The nailhead engine had nice sparkplugs and I just couldn't cut them off and drill holes! I forgot the radiator hoses so I added them today and the picture. Thanks also to Jeff, Carl and Chris.
  24. Thanks Neal.
  25. A few more, thanks for looking.
