  1. Thanks. And it'll look good pulling a flatbed. Here's the 1:1 I used as inspiration:
  2. it's a 40 year old AMT kit with some fit issues, but it can build up nicely. Here's mine: I did use an extra exhaust stack deom a GMC Astro to get the dual stacks, the decals are from various kits, and the flap logos are from JBot.
  3. Looks really good. I like it. Now you need a tractor to pull it!
  4. The aluminum tube that I used I got from my local hobb shop. It's made by K&S Precision Metals specifically for model building. Here's their Website: http://ksmetals.com/ You "might" be able to find something useable at Home Depot or Lowe's, but I seriously doub't it. Good luck.
  5. Just in time for my birthday!
  6. An HO scale slot track in HO scale. Now that's pretty cool. How big would the cars actually be?
  7. Good score! Actually, if you can find copies of "Building & Detailing Scale Ship Models" & "The Basics of Ship Modeling" both by Mike Ashey, they'll really help you out. And definately go over to Model Shipwrights on Kitmaker. There is a wealth of knowledge on ship modeling over there, and some very good builders. You can also try Model Warships: http://www.modelwarships.com/index1.html
  8. Your frame looks great!
  9. I'm thinking it's a Deutz engine, myself. From what I've come up with, that's really all it can be.
  10. Looks really nice. It loos like you're using the International V800 from the kit. This article might help you with your "plumbing problem": http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm06_mar_1991_inter/
  11. Hoping for a difinative answer, I asked Italeri what type of engine was in this kit. Here is the response I received (in its entirety): "Dear Sir, thank you for your mail, we inform you that in the kit the truck get a Magirus Iveco engine. Best regards, Italeri S.p.A." Well, that helps.
  12. Nice job on the DAF & trailer. Any plans for a load?
  13. K-Mart - Where the K stands for quality! (Ok, I really have no idea if that's true or not, but it is funny). I might consider picking up these if Round 2 ever decides to reissue them. They could be an interesting change of pace.
  14. That's for the input, guys. I'll check into that.
  15. That Edsel sure has seen better days. Great dio.
  16. Thanks, Marshall. It should be pretty cool.
  17. Yes, I knew what you ment; that you lowered the stance of the cab on the frame. Yes, AMT made the cab on the Astro & Titan ride a little too high.
  18. Looking really nice. I like the lowered cab.
  19. So, I've started working on this kit, and it's going together quite nicely (except for the cab, but that's another story). Anyway, I have the frame & engine assembled, and I want to get the engine color correct. The engine appeares to be a small, air-cooled, V6 diesel. Italeri molded it in black, but from what I can tell IVECO might paint their engines red or leave them natural alluminum. Does anyone have any pics of this type of IVECO engine? Actually, I'm not even sure it's an IVECO engine, or something Italeri made up.
  20. My wife really has expressed no interest in it, although she is "supportive". My son (7) & daughter (9) have both built some snap kits (planes, helicopter, fire trucks, & a few cars). My son has been asking me to get him a glue kit, but I'm not totally sure yet. He also has wanted an ambulance, and now with the Revell/Monogram reissue of the 1937 Ford Panel Truck there might be a future birthday present there!
  21. Can you post a pic of something similar that you're looking for?
  22. Do you mean "spoke" wheels? If you do, try Daniel at Plaskit (plaskit_resin@yahoo.ca).
