  1. Fantastic work, Jarda. Absolutely fantastic!
  2. Jacobus, I'm not sure what you have in Holland, but you can check with K&S Metals; they sell a lot of tubing to the modeling industry. Also, it you want a really chrome stack (probably not on this build) check in electronics stores for collapasable antennas for radios.
  3. Don't electrocute yourself, Larry!
  4. Looks really nice. I like your fifth wheel detail. May I make a quick suggestion? Take some 3/16" (5mm) aluminum tubing and replace to solid piece of plastic rod that that AMT gives you for the exhaust stack. It'll realy improve the look. Doing it on this one might require some disassembly, so better to try it on the next one. Just a thought.
  5. Joe, There really isn't anything you can do about the grill; that's the way it was designed. You could swap the grill with a GMC Astro, but it won't say "CHEVROLET" across the grill; or you could replace it with P/E. Sometimes Czech Truck Modell has P/E grills for the Astro & Titan. Again, it won't say "CHEVROLET", but it will look nicer. http://www.modelmakershop.com/modelmakershop/index.php?cat=c126_Czech-Truck-Modell.html&XTCsid=7oh7ef8glkkbmm39tu07gkoa01
  6. Thanks, guys. Yes, I'd like to get a decent W9000 cab. One of these days.
  7. Thanks fore the info, Jerry. I'll check it out. I just might do that. Right now it's hooked to the Peterbilt.
  8. I don't think the Chinese have the same notion of copyrights as the West does. You've put it out to the public; therefore it can be copied. The Pentagon is dealing with counterfit Chinese parts in the military supply chain right now.
  9. Nice old AutoCar. Very classic.
  10. Looks good. Sort of the "Green Stealth". As far as I know, there is no visor currently available for this kit. The ones made for the RoG W900 or the AMT W900 are too narrow. I know; I've tried. If you find one, let me know as I need some, too.
  11. Great stories! 'Cackling like a madman"! I don't care who you are; that's funny.
  12. Thanks, Chuck. That's a good idea for the W900. I already have three in the stash, but I can always use another one!!!
  13. Thanks, Mike. I am hoping to make a Blur Mule eventually. I have the decals from JBot, but that's about it.
  14. Here's my version of the "White Line Fever" Red River Shipping trailer. I know that there are some differences between the AMT kit & the trailer used in the movie, but I'll live with them. The Red River Shipping decals are from JBot; while the Fruehauf, "Wide Right Turn", data plates, & license plates are from the AMT decal sheet. The Nevada plate is from the "Bixby Livestock" decal sheet that I picked up from Model Express a couple of yeas ago. I posed it with a couple of different tractors just to see how it looked. I kind of like it with the 359 Although the Astro does look good, too. The W900 is one I built back in 1986, and it shows! Maybe I'll rebuild it if I can ever find those decals again.
  15. My sister is a VP over at Matell for the Barbie line. We had a discussion about this a while back, and she told me that their Legal Dept. will go after anybody even using the name Barbie. Doesn't make a difference who they are. Why? Because if the don't, it actually sets a legal precident, and can be used by the defence against Matell in the next case, "You didnt go after XYZ, so why are you going after my client?" These companies are protecting their intelectual property by going after people who copy thier parts or logos without permission. If it has their name or logo on it, it can be taken as the company authorized he manufacturer of that part, and if it fails; well, that just another can of legal worms! The two companies that I know of that are probably the must agressive in copyright infringement are Caterpiller & Harley-Davidson. In fact, the Pentagon was even getting involved with this for military models. They wanted the model manufacturers to pay a fee to reproduce their equipment. That made military modelers "really happy"!
  16. Looking nice. Here, this might help with your trailer: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm26_july_1994_conv/
  17. Excellent builds, Charles.
  18. Some decent looking builds there. That's a lot of rain!
  19. Now that I'm not sure of, but Plaskit does offer them in Resin in several different spreads.
  20. I believe it's called a walking beam.
  21. I don't think the M39 series was around much in the US Army much after 1980. It was replaced by the M809 series then the M939 series. The M39 & M809 shared a lot of the same components (cab, hood, etc.) If these are actually Diamond T M39 trucks they would be really rare as both International Harvester & Diamoind T stopped making them in 1953 when Mack & Kaiser Jeep won the contract. Diamond T produced them from 1951-53.
  22. Check with Daniel. He has both.
  23. Well, that depends on what you want. Do you wnat trailer suspensions or truck suspensions? Check with Daniel over at Plaskit (plaskit_resin@yahoo.ca)
