  1. Welcome to truck modeling! Engine color is a "hot topic" of debate within the community. So, here goes. Out of the box, this Kenworth W900 is about a 1972-82 (give or take a little). If your truck will be a 1972 to about 1978 truck, the engine should be white. After that, it should be New Caterpiller Yellow.
  2. Nice job on the lift cylinders. It was worth the effort.
  3. Tony, I couldn't agree more, and I think that any company (or person) has the right to defend their work & ideas. I din't know that Howard got wacked for £20K. That's a little harsh. Is Australia as "sue happy" as the US? It's ridiculous over here.
  4. Oh, they are very proud of their product & logo. They probably love to see it out there. It's just going to cost you about $5000 to do it legaly.
  5. I know that armor & aircraft modelers have been dreeding this for years, and I'm sure that their turn will come. They-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named are very protective of their copyright. More so than other companies. I have a friend who is a lawyer in DC (imagine that, a lawyer in DC). Anyway, one of is first jobs out of law school was to ensure that the copyright of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was not infringed upon. Particularly in South America, because he speeks Spanish. He is quite well off!
  6. Tim, That's good information. Thanks. Built a couple of these, have you?
  7. Mike, Go into "Your Profile". click on "Edit My Profile", then there's a tab on the left that says "Change Signature". Hope that helps.
  8. I think the green one was the pre-issue photo of a previuos release. The current release is the blue "Lightning Express" box art. The kit can be built out of the box as the blue truck with the lightning bolts, or orange with white panels. The decal sheet does not have the stripes for the green truck. Well, at lease my kit doesn't. I building one of the orange kits, and I've built the silver issue as well.
  9. You're talking about the Revell USA snap kit, right?
  10. Looking nice. I like the green.
  11. I know my models didn't look half as good as this when I was 14. I don't even think most of them were painted. Build what makes you happy, Nick.
  12. Nice stuff! Thanks. And a Peterbilt no less.
  13. I think it's just a typo on the Tower Hobbies page. The T900 is an Australian Kenworth, and from the picture it appears to have a left hand drive. I have no idea what wreckers in Australia look like, so this one might be able to be converted.
  14. It's actually a W900, the K100 is the COE. That's kind of pricy!
  15. Dennis, Thanks for the compliments. I got the decals here: Miscellaneous Engine & Filter Decals. There are a lot of decals on the sheet from Cummins, FleetGuard, Detroit Diesel, Fram, etc. It even includes logos from "The Evil One". Glad you liked it, Leo.
  16. Point well taken. This appears to be a well engineered & thought out kit, but I'm sure there are limitations in the manufacturing process for mass production & afforability. This kit is definately on my Christmas List!
  17. I don't get why the links aren't working!!! Try these: http://www.freewebs.com/mmtaer/tippers.htm & http://mmtaer.webs.com/
  18. Your best bet is to go to his Website here:Melbourne Model Truck Accessories, and contact him that way. (I fixed my link in my earler post, too.) His contact info is on the Main Page of his site.
  19. I got this message from Evan this morning concerning his 3406E & C15 engines: "Yep, I'm still running the gauntlet with those engine's! Though I will be stopping once this mould set wears out." So, I guess the moral of the story here is "Get 'em while they last!!!"
  20. That looks really cool. Great job.
  21. Very nice rack, Matt. Do you plan on selling them? I like the way it came out on the KW.
  22. This should be interesting. That's a nice shade of purple.
  23. Try here: http://mmtaer.webs.com/truckparts.htm Evan sells the C-15, and the 3406E.
