  1. That looks pretty good. I guess you can say you're the first with a LoneStar model! Good job.
  2. KJ, those are rally nice. I've got to find one of this Great Dane reefers. One of these days. Are you planning on bringing these to Fulton?
  3. Thanks, but I cannot take credit for the paining on the Astro. A friend of mine did it for me.
  4. I'm pretty sure that both the W900 & K100 Aerodynes in 1976 had the tandem torsion bar suspension as an option. So, on that note, both of my Bicentennial Kenworths will have the tandem torsion bar suspension. Have to make a matched set, ya know.
  5. Nice job. I like your engine detail, and the color is really nice, too. What sort of mirrors are you looking for?
  6. That looks really nice, Ray. Much better that the stock fifth wheel plate. I'm glad I could inspire someone! I have another one of these kits in the stash that will be made into one of the Bicentennial W900s, so now you've inspired me to try this. Between this & replacing the 8-bag suspension with the tandem torsion bar suspension it should be an interesting build.
  7. Those are both looking really nice.
  8. Thanks, guys. The steerable front axle on the GMC is a kit modified part. Didn't come out quite as nice as I'd hoped, but it's ok. There's too much "slop" in the wheels.
  9. Looking good, Ray. I like where this is going. That orange plastic is tough to cover!
  10. I like it so far! Very nice work. Is that another one in the background? I like the visor on that one.
  11. Nice save. That KW looks really nice.
  12. I think everyone will agree with me when I say that the wheels on the Revell USA snap kits are not very good. The rear wheels are worse. It's the same wheel that's in Peterbilt 359 snap kit. I happen to have an extra set. If you want them, I'll send them to you. The Alcoa Wheels logos that I used came from SourKraut.
  13. Who does Howard at KFS use? His parts seem really nice. Then there's Eric (Porky) over here in North Carolina.
  14. As promissed! It was a bright, sunny day here in Central New York, so I managed to snap a couple of pictures of my Fruehauf tank trailer with a couple of different tractors. And I only managed to break off a mud flap from the trailer!
  15. The articel was in Phil Jensen's book. I'm pretty sure I have that articel scanned onto my other computer. I'll try & remember to post them.
  16. Oh, Bumper Chrome isn't all that shiney. I mean it's shiney, but it isn't like the chrome that comes in the kits.
  17. Doug, those DO look really nice! I might have to check into them. Bardley, I do not know if this trailer was ever offered in 48' or 53', but Wilson does offer newer livestock trailers in those lengths. Wilson Trailers
  18. Not a stupid question at all. This is the 1/25 Monogram Snap Kenworth Aerodyne kit from 1991. It's the same one that Revell USA just reissues as the Snap Kenworth W900. Yes, it's a snap kit. As far as the Alcoas, all I did was add some of Kurt's 1/25 "Alcoa Wheels" logos to the kit wheels. Ok, so it's not 100% accurate, but it looks nice. The logos are available from SurtKraut.
  19. Thanks. I've got a couple of issues with it right now. The biggest issue is there is a triangular gap between the roof & the nose bulkhead. Something isn't straight. Unfortunately, both pieces are already glued in place, so I'm going to have to try and figure out how to fill it. Doug, Ace R/C took over from White Fang? Never knew that. Mine didn't come with decals either (reissue kit), so i picked some up from Dennis at Model Express. Special Appearance Decals might have them, too.
  20. No, no luck with outside shots. It rained all day yesterday, and it's supposed to rain all day today. But it's not supposed to rain tomorrow; it's supposed to snow. Nice Ford CL9000 in your avatar.
  21. Thanks. Hopefully we'll get some sun, but I'm not counting on it. I'll get some outside shots eventually!
