  1. sounds like a major undertaking. Is the engine correct?
  2. What will we do with an old Freightshaker, What will we do with an old Freightshaker, What will we do with an old Freightshaker, Early in the morning! Doug, that Freigliner is awesome!!!
  3. Well, I guess you could put some chains & turnbuckles on the rack. Maybe dome dirt?
  4. They look nice. Are they printed on white or clear? The only one I'm not too sure about is the Kenworth logo in the black rectangle. But if I were you, I'd delete the photo of the Yellow Engine logos, unless you want an 800-lb gorilla breathing down your neck threating to sue over coppyright infringment.
  5. Doug, that sepia picture looks real. I thought it was you inspiration photo for a sec. Now, what would be the purpose of one of these trucks? Why would you want to race in the mud? I think you would have less traction that way.
  6. The "Yellow Engine", no idea. Any idea what model engine it was? For the time frame, I'd guess a 1693. If that's the case, you'll have to scratch build it. For a donor kit, the Chevrolet Titan or GMC Astro have pretty good frames, and they're relitively inexpensive. They both come with tandem spring suspensions & Detroit Diesel 8V71N engines.
  7. Like this one: White 7400?
  8. Nice looking little fleet truck you've got there.
  9. The Back Yard Shed has a Kenworth Bullnose conversion. He doesn't list it in his store right now, but he does have one. http://shop.ebay.com/auskid40/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1 And Illini Replica Conversions has some older cabs as well.
  10. Nice rack! I like the little details you're putting on it.
  11. Looks nice. That's a serious pogo stick you've got there!
  12. Looks really nice. I like what you've done with it so far.
  13. Welcome to the board! Stay safe. Btry C, 2nd Bn 43rd ADA 180th Ad Bde
  14. Another well detailed, amazing model. Top notch!
  15. Nice paint job. I like the color.
  16. I'd heard this, too; but this is the first time I've seen anything concrete about it. I even sent Eound2 an email over the weekend. Haven't heard back from them yet, though. They're also listing the Fruehauf Texaco Tank Trailer for pre-order $37.99: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=AMT684
  17. Black frame with an aluminum tank.
  18. Well, I've been working on this for a little while now; so I figured I'd post some WIP pics. I have the frame & suspension done & tank assembled. My plan is to plum the brake lines. We'll see how that goes. Anyway, that's where I am so far.
  19. Looking very nice. What are you planning on hooking it to?
  20. I currently have the AMT Freuhauf tanker in progress. Maybe I should post some pics.
  21. If you want really nice dashes, send them to Scott! No, not a chicken hauler; tanker yanker.
  22. Thanks, guys. Glad you like it. @Mark R - I've been trying to improve my dashes, so thanks for the comments. I think it came out rather nicely, too. Used toothpicks to paint the silver on the bezel rings. It takes some practice, but I'm getting better. I just wish the photo wasn't blurry. @Matthew - touched that up this morning! @Ray - Thanks. Just scanned in the cover of my copy & reduced it. Would you like the file? The Atlas I got from the Rand McNally Website. I wanted to make a mapcase or something, but I couldn't figure out how. Did have a "minor" set back today. Turns out the engine is mounted too high to get the aircleaner piping to fit. So, I had to remove engine, and mount it lower. See? These are the things you learn when you do things like this.
  23. So it's been a while since I posted any progress on my 1980 Kenworth W900. I haven't managed to get a lot done, but I did make some progress. Since the last post I've finished the interior (some of the "Old Timers" might recognize the book on the bunk), mount the hood & cab, and break the drive shaft while mounting the cab! It's always an adventure. I think it's just stacks, radiator, roof lights, & horns. Then we'll call it done.
  24. Try Chris over at SourKraut's. He should have just about everything you need.
