  1. Looking really nice, Tim. Stepping out of your "comfort zone" a little bit? I like the Dupli-Color Victory Red, but I had a heck of a time with it on my American-LaFrance pumper. It kept turning pink!!! By the third coat it would be red, but if I had to do a touch up fourth coat it would turn pink again, and I'd be back where I started.
  2. That's coming along very nicely.
  3. Very nice. I like the details you added. Congradulations on your award. It looks like it was well deserved.
  4. You could try Super Clean. I comes in a big purple jug, and you can get it a NAPA, AutoZone, etc. Works like a charm.
  5. Dave, you wouldn't be thinking of casting that, would you?
  6. I thought the 4000 had the short hood & the 9000 had the long hood.
  7. Well, there's another reason to buy a Ford C600 Stake Truck when Round2 reissues them! Suppose I could use the Caterpiller 3208 from the Ford L-Series for an engine.
  8. Well, that would be a problem!!! Dave, what frame & engine would you recommend for a Cargostar conversion?
  9. Thanks for the comments, guys. I was a little concerned about what Purple Power would do. I did know it would strip chrome, as I've used it for that before. Ray, yes, it's an AMT kit. Specifically the Kenworth W923.
  10. The farm right next door to me uses a Cargostar open-top box truck to haul silage for their cows. Seems like it's a common farm truck.
  11. I have a partially assembles truck that I'd like to rebuild. I'm planning on stripping the paint from the cab/hood, and doing some other modifications to it. The problem is I'm in a quandry. The cab is completely assembled with the interior & glass installed. Do I need to take the galss out before I put it in the Purple Bath? Will the Purple Stuff help me disassemble (weaken glue joints)? What's the best way of removing the interior tub? Thanks.
  12. Looks nice. Can't say as I've ever seena Road Boss with a Texas bumper, but I like it.
  13. I hear ya about the tires. Thanks for the info on the sign.
  14. Lookd pretty good. I like the colors. Your base is nice too, as is your load. Is there something wrong with your rear trailer duals? They look a little cock-eyed. Also, what does the sign say?
  15. They were just examples. I really don't expect to see new trucks from AMT. They seem very content to issue 40 year old models.
  16. Cody, Moebius could have made any truck (Mack Granite, Peterbilt 389, International 9900i, etc), and it probably would have still gotten this type of response. As long as it's a new truck! Maybe they'll do a trailer or two as well. I guess we'll just have to see what the future holds, and if the kit lives up to expectatons. Hopefully this won't be the only truck offering from Moebius.
  17. Try Line-O-Tape. I've never used it, but I've seen it used with nice results.
  18. Welcome to the forum! You wouldn't happen to have a brother named Jim, would you? I work with a guy in Pittston, PA, named Jim Koch.
  19. I was talking about the wheels when I mentioned Jamie casting them.
  20. Are you going to have Jamie cast some of those for you (or should I say us)? Not to be a pain in the "you know where", but how are those Ford W9000 cab & Ford LTL hood coming? They look really nice. I'm planning on doing a Snowman Kenworth W900 here eventually. I think I'll need you on "speed dial"!
  21. Lotso Fotki Nice work, Ben. Those wheels are very realistic. Man! Does that Peterbilt 350 have a long hood!
  22. I couldn't get it to open either, and thought it was just me!
  23. That's looking really nice. The GW Trucks cab that you have is pretty good. I'm pretty sure that it's a copy of the Revell USA Kenworth W900 Aerodyne cab. I like the daylight doors the you made. I'm not brave enough to hack my GW Trucks W900S conversion for daylight doors (and that's exactly what it would be: hacking! )
