  1. Good Lord! You won't have to purchase new models for years! You definately hae your work cut out for you.
  2. No one that I know of makes a Sterling conversion, so your sort of on your own. I suppose that you can start with the AMT Ford LN8000 or LNT8000 and modify the hood, change the engine, etc.
  3. Looking nice! What color is the cab?
  4. This 1977 GMC Astro/95 bruchure has some decent interior pics: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/gmc/gmc_astro-95_1977/ Here's one from 1974: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/truck_brochures/gmc/gmc_astro_95_1974/
  5. Nice job. Don't see too many of those S-Series kits any more. Wish they would reissue those.
  6. Comming together nicely. I like it so far.
  7. No problem. Remember not all Detroits are Alpine Green. Engine color has been a hot topic of debate on this board for a long time. Do a quick search, and I bet you'll get about 50 threads. Here's a quick summary of Detroit Diesel colors: most 8V71 & 8V92 engines in the AMT kits should be painted Alpine Green EXCEPT in Peterbilts which were white until the early 1980s, in Kenworths which were also white until the mid 1970s, and in Internationals which red. Confused yet? Don't worry, it gets better. The 8V92T was silver, and the Series 60 (found in the Italeri kits) is sort of a blue/grey.
  8. Did the 351/358 use the same cab as the AMT 359? Do you need the "little window" kit?
  9. Looks pretty good so far. I kind of like the blue, and the wheels look really nice. I know it's a little late now, but Detroit Diesel Alpine Green is available from Dupli-Color at NAPA & AutoZone. Also, Scale Finishes offeres it in a bottle that's airbrush ready. Next time.
  10. Thanks, Gary. The Astro was painted by Jim Gavin. The thin white stripes are vinyl. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9292 The Winslow stripes on the Peterbilt are from Jbot.
  11. I'm glad you guys like it. I haven't really decided which tractor it will go behind. It might end up with the GMC or it could end up with the black Kenworth that I have in progress. It really looks good behind the KW! I'm thinking either livestock or grain trailer for the GMC.
  12. Well, it's finally done. What a nightmare!
  13. Every time I touch this trailer something falls off! Today was no exception. I was working on adding the outlet valves, and as i was trying to fit one on I heard a SNAP. The fricken' tank came off!!! I could not beleive it. The only thing holding it on is the air lines. Even the outlet piping fell off. What a nightmare. I'll be glad when I can finialy put this one on the shelf. Of course, it might never make it to the shelf because when I pick it up to move it to the shelf something will break off. AAGGGHHHHH!
  14. That C-16 looks sweet! Is that Evan's engine & transmission?
  15. You polish & wax the engine?
  16. Well, it hasn't starting snowing yet, if that's what you mean. But it's right around the corner. Do you mean the one on Quarry Rd. in Chittenango? That one has been closed for several years. Oot want's to reopen it to mine limestone for his housing projects, but the residents & village are fighting him.
  17. Interesting subject. I like it. So you know, Ford didn't introduce the F-Series until 1948, and from 1948 - 1952 it was F-1, F-2, F-3...F-8. This looks like it could be late 1930s.
  18. Very nice of Peterbilt to do that. I olny hope the model survives the trip back to Australia. Are you wearing hearing protection?
  19. That's probably one of the best Generals I've ever seen. Very, very nice.
  20. Those look really nice. Too bad I don't have a 377, 378, or 379 in my stash.
  21. You did a good job with this one. I like it. (I want one!! ) Yes, the Dodge L1000 was an ugly truck; box on wheels. I guess dodge was going for function, not form.
  22. Hey, Randy. Looks really nice. Love the colors. Where have I seen this one before?
