  1. Looks like you've got another winner here, Ben! Now, if you can just keep the 800-lb Yellow Gorilla away.
  2. Tim, you clean 250 models with cotton balls? Wow!
  3. That looks really nice. Are those wider tires I see on the front? I like the paint scheme, too. Very 1980s. If I remember correctly, the fit on this kit is really terrible, but it look like you've overcome the fit issues.
  4. Something new to add to the "Projects" list!
  5. The entire engine? That's a pretty good idea.
  6. Richard, there's nothing there on the link. They must have sold out.
  7. Very nice. Good job all around.
  8. Add me to the list!!!
  9. Ray, What I did was took some aluminum flashing and cut a REALLY think strip (which curled up on itself). After I straightened it out, I formed the "bump" of the clamp over a micro drill the same size as the #30 wire I used. Then I cut the "tabs" to size, and super glued it to the front of the tank securing the hose.
  10. Here are a couple of articles that might help: Truck Air Brakes Trailer Air Brakes (this is the article I used when detailing my tank trailer).
  11. Thanks. As of now, my snap Kenworth W900 will be hooked to it. That might change later.
  12. Ok, so I need another project like I need a hole in the head, but I started this livestock trailer last week some time and yesterday I managed to prime & paint some of it. I swapped the spokes out for some 10-hole disks. The hubs are cast resin by Daniel from Plaskit. The trailer will be painted with Dupli-Color Bumper Chrome over grey primer. I just have to make a final decision of the rear door, and decide how I want to cable the spare tire carrier.
  13. Thanks. Took me a while to figure out how to secure them to the front of the tank and have it look "realistic".
  14. So, I managed to get all the decals on the tank, the brake lines finished, and the discharge pipes on. It's not much, but it's something. I'm hoping to have some time in the next couple of weeks to finish this up.
  15. Very nice! It's really taking shape. Thise guys over at The Scale Firehouse really know their stuff, don't they? Nice hose.
  16. The L-Model! That's the Mercedes-Benz I was thinking of. I kind of like it. Does anyone make a kit of this truck? What's that bottom Scania? I like that one, too. Does Peterbilt use the DAF cab as well? I haven't heard anything about this.
  17. Can't say as I've ever heard of it. The plot doesn't sound familiar.
  18. Kenworth is using the DAF XF105 cab for their K500. Mack is (or was) using the Renault cab. Every so often we see a Scania here in New York. Not many. Anybody remember those Mercedes-Benz conventionals? They sort of looked like a VW Beetle on steroids. I remember seeing them in Miami and when I was deployed to Saudi Arabia.
  19. Looks pretty good. I like it.
  20. soundds like you have a lit of good plans for this one. I'm sure it will be quite nice when it's finished.
  21. Looking really nice, Tim. Stepping out of your "comfort zone" a little bit? I like the Dupli-Color Victory Red, but I had a heck of a time with it on my American-LaFrance pumper. It kept turning pink!!! By the third coat it would be red, but if I had to do a touch up fourth coat it would turn pink again, and I'd be back where I started.
  22. That's coming along very nicely.
  23. Very nice. I like the details you added. Congradulations on your award. It looks like it was well deserved.
