  1. What about Mack from "Cars"? He's supposed to be a 1985 Mack Superliner, and I think the hardest part would be the Rust-eze logos.
  2. While we're on the subject of Ford COEs, how about "The Blue Mule" from "White Line Fever"? That was a 1974 Ford WT9000, and SourKraut offers a conversion cab. Of course, someone else is making a conversion cab, too.
  3. Here are the scanned instruction steps for the AMT Kenworth W925. What you will need is Step #3: And Step #5: Hope these help
  4. For Optimus Prime, you'll need the Italeri 378 kit with the G.W. Trucks 379 hood. That's if you want to do it in 1/24. If you want it in 1/25, Porky is working on a Bill Drennen 1/25 Peterbilt 379 conversion kit. I think that will work on the Revell of Germany frame. Maybe Tim A. can verify this.
  5. "WE ALL LIVE IN A YELLOW C-O-E! A YELLOW C-O-E! A YELLOW C-O-E!" Sorry, couldn't resist (with appologies to The Beatles). I like where you're going with this. Your color choices are quite nice. The white frame is different. Is this the Revell of Germany kit?
  6. I have the W925 kit that Eric's suspension comes from. I'll see if I can scan in the step about the suspension, & attach it here.
  7. That's the one! Now I need to finish the roof wing, the air intake piping, and the fender turn signals.
  8. Excellent work, Dave. I like the trailer, too.
  9. That looks really nice! The outside shots really bring out the shine!
  10. Yes, Kenworth had gold emblems on their trucks in 1973 for their 50th Anniversary. I think one of the "Smokey & the Bandit" trucks did have one. The Revell/Monogram Kenworth W900 is the snap W900 with the Aerodyne sleeper. Here's one I'm working on. I'll finish it one of these days!!! This is the 1991 reissue that's molded on orange. At least I think it was 1991. It has the same Caterpiller 3406 that is in the Revell/Monogram Peterbilt 359 snap kit. As for the sleeper, yes the Revell of Germany 60" sleeper would be correct for the TV show version of the truck. If I remember correctly, the Revell of Germany kit also has the VIT interior which the TV show truck had.
  11. Dave, the Revell of Germany kit is a 1973 - (about) 1982. The Revell/Monogram kit is a 1976 to (about) 1982.
  12. Quite nice. The visor didn't turn out all that bad.
  13. I like that one, too. It just smells to Hight Heavens! I've used Rust-Oleum Satin Black with good results, as well. From what I understand, most trucks are painted with gloss paint all over when the roll out of the factory, but I think (and this is just me) that a semi-gloss or satin on the frame looks better. Sort of breaks up the shine.
  14. I usually use Dupli-Color Semi-Gloss Black, but really any black will do. Just sort of depends on the look you're going for.
  15. I haven't built the Revell of Germany kit yet, so I'm not exactly sure what's involved it removing the 8-bag suspension. Don't see why you couldn't though. The VT930 will probably fit better as that frame is "fitted" for the 3408.
  16. I believe that was Anthony's truck. His posts tend to come & go.
  17. Tim, Was it a V903 or a VT903? Auslowe now has a VT903 available. Hey, Ben, get crackin'!!!
  18. Jbot offers decals for the "In Tandem" W900, the "Movin' On" W900, and the "In Tandem" K100. You'll still need the Revell of Germany cab to make the "In Tandem" W900 as there are some differences between the 1972 cab & the 1973 cab. Most notably the door handles. As far as the AMT W925, it's a cast of what's "on" the isn't exactly what's "in" the box. I believe that the earlier AMT Kenworths actually had the torsion bar suspension so they were W925s. When AMT switched to the spring suspension in the kits, th truck "in" the box became a W923, but they left the box the same. It really isn't that big of a deal as it's still a W900 Series. Kenworth stopped calling trucks W923, W925, etc. starting with the 1973 model year; and just starting calling them W900. Which is where you get confusion, and some people calling these trucks W900A. Kenworth never made a W900A. It was W900, then W900B in 1983 (I think).
  19. Well, the good news is Round2 is reissuing the Freuahuf 40ft Van trailer later this year, so you should be set there. Now, ready for the bad news? The AMT "Movin' On" Kenworth is not even close to correct. The kit is AMT's 1968-1972 Kenworth W923 (or W925 if you're lucky enough to get the torsion bar suspension) with some "Movin' On" looking decals thrown in the box. The actual truck used in the show was a 1974 Kenworth W900 with a VIT interior. So, if you want to make an accurate "Movin' On" Kenworth W900, here you go. First, you'll need the cab, interior & sleeper from the Revell of Germany W900 or T900 kits. Keep the hood from the AMT kit. Second, you sort of have a choice of engines as there was more than truck used for filming. You can either use the NTC350 from the AMT kit, or you can use the Auslowe Cummins VT903 (which is what the truck had if you asked Sonny). For this year Kenworth the engine should be white. Third, In order to fit the 60" sleeper, you'll probably have to streatch the frame. You'll also need to get a set of the Tandem Torsion Bar suspension. Eric Jones (aka Porky) offers it in resin. This might help, too: http://timstrucks.site.aplus.net/images/images_oct/sonnycolorchart.jpg
  20. Good luck, Doug. Don't forget to post pics!
  21. Auslowe offers a resin V903 and a VT903 (perfect for Sonny's truck). I'm not sure how popular the V/VT903 really was, but is seen some fleet trucks on Hank's with them in them.
