Are you addressing the OP or my post above ?

I was thinking about the OP, but if it applies to you as well, it's all good.  After looking at the Lindberg kit, the grille is very different from the one Claude shows above. Also, now I think about it, isn't the Lindberg kit 1/24?

Mine hasn't even had blank VHS tapes for at least five or six years. I've been buying prerecorded old movie tapes at flea markets and yard sales and recycling them. I scored 6 or 7 on Labor Day weekend and it made my day! B)

Snake, I have 7 blank VHS tapes, they're yours if you want them.

Hey everyone, we have a new addition to our family. We think he is a boy kitty. We tried to check, but, could not tell for sure. About 2 months ago, he would come along the fence row. If there was any sound or movement, he would take off and cross the road. Little by little, I would call out to him. He finally came close enough to pat his head. I went and got some dry food that Jazzy eats inside. I then gave him some wet food and it was like it was food from the gods. I then worked with him for a few weeks and got him to follow me to our front deck. He now spends most of his time on our front deck. When I sit down outside, he just loves to climb up in my lap and wiggle around to get comfortable. We are feeding him 2-3 times a day. Oh,BTW, he has no teeth !! That's right !! The first time he tried to give me a lovebite, there was no feeling of teeth on my arm. We have since checked and it is true !! We are taking care of him and giving him the pate type of food. He also drools a lot!!  He is so loving and can't get enough petting and loving. I don't know what we are going to do when winter comes. He can't come inside. That would be unfair to out other cat.

I notice his/her ear has been "tipped". That is how they mark cats after TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return). Sympathetic people catch feral cats, have them vetted and neutered, and return them to their "home". It's great that you're giving some care here. Your friend has probably lived outside most of their life, so if you can provide a little shelter, they should be fine outside for the winter. Thanks for helping out.

I'm a fan of Sid Haig's Captain Spaulding character in the movies House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects and have been using the Captain Spaulding username on anything I join.

That's a surprise! I just assumed it was from the Groucho Marx character in "Animal Crackers". I guess I am old!

In all honesty, no I really do not. Most of the people I know either don't do anything of the sort, or are straight up artists who make their own work. I know these people exist, just have never really come across them or had any conversation about the topic with anyone.

I wonder if there are many people of every age group that have never created anything. If so, I feel sorry for them. There is a great satisfaction that comes from making something on your own. Even something created in the virtual realm would take some mental skill. I personally have a need to make something with my hands, I've been that way all my life. It would be a shame if the effort=pride/satisfaction equation went missing.

Look up at Bainford's post. Looks the same as the tools in the 53 Chevy.

Thanks Patrick. Yeah, it looks like the same sprue is in the '53 sedan and the '54 panel. I wonder if it is in the gasser versions of those kits.

The very first Valiants had a floor mounted shifter for the standard 3 - speed manual transmission. I think this is true for the '61 year model as well abut the '60 year models had the floor shifter. A friend had a little red 4 door so equipped with the slant six it was a lot of fun.

Thanks David! I thought I responded to your post a couple of days ago, but it looks like my reply never posted. The way my buddy told the story it sounded like it was a floor shift. His was also a red 4 door.

I think the AMT '63 Impala has a set of tools , including vice-grips.

It turns out I have that kit, so I checked it out. The instructions show pliers, no vise grips. That darn Murphy never sleeps. Thanks for trying!

The Revell ‘53 & ‘54 Chevys have a tool set with a decent set of vise grips.

Thanks, Trevor! I found the kits you're talking about. Now I just have to buy or trade for one. I like the idea of getting a whole kit to build, plus having the vise grips. (Like I need another kit to build.😀)

Every car 3-speed I've seen up until about 1964 was 3 on the tree.  If you build it that way you can't go wrong.  My 65 Mustang was 3 on the floor,  and GM and Mopar had their versions too in the late 60's. Trucks had either 3 on the tree or 4 on the floor.

    Thanks, Bill!

  10. Are there any 1/24-25 vise grips available? I looked in the "Geegaws" thread and saw pliers, but not vise grips. I'm building a '60 Valiant for a friend that had one as a teenager. He broke off the shifter and replaced it with vise grips.

Also, does anyone know if those Valiants were "three on the tree", or floor shift?

    Thanks!

Wonder if he’s related to my friend’s can Linus, he’s anything but fussy when it comes to food.  Just got this one texted to me tonight, guess what he wants.......🙄😆

That's a great pic of Linus.

"You are entitled to have whatever you want whenever you want it, and you must complain loudly if you don't get it."😄

Here are some more of the rules:

"If an object is on a raised surface, and can be moved, it belongs on the floor."

"You must randomly do something annoying, just to keep your human from getting complacent."

"If you have the opportunity, you must alter your human's computer, so that it will take them an hour to figure out how to fix it."

"The warmest, softest places belong to you."

"If a box is available, you must lay in it."

Anyone feel free to add to the list as you see fit.😁

Hoover is a handsome boy ! Love his marques and his tail ; he looks like he can be a brat for sure (haha) .

Hoover thanks you for the compliment. It seems to me he has a longer than average tail.

  15. Here's Hoover, so named because he eats like a vacuum cleaner. He's resting after bingeing on Cat TV (AKA bird feeder). Another shelter mutt, he's a good cat. However, in keeping with the CCC (Cat Code of Conduct), he's required to be a PITA from time to time.
