Sounds like a plan! For the side grab handles and steps, unless you can cast them yourself or own a 3D printer... You're going to have to have to kitbash a Revell or AMT Aerodyne, I'm sad to say. My 3D printer is still in the pipeline... Have I got plans for this thing...
There is still life in these snap kits yet. I like the front fenders, chunkier, yet well proportioned. Nice chrome details, good paint scheme, chicken lights, big condo, the works! Nice build!
You only have 16 (commited) votes to go! It is a high quality trans-kit. The International 9670 cabover is about to go into it's last production round at KFS, it's time to reserve for the ones who are interested.
One thing is for sure, in the day, you couldn't mistake a CL9000 for anything else on the road (especially going around a corner!) It was pretty much the same thing for almost any big Ford for that matter! The later model LTL and the CL were a great looking pair.
Sergey, one guy here seems quite knowledgeable for Mack products, its ap40rocktruck.
i think Richard used to work for Mack. So you might want to ask him.
Very cool! I just love red and white on anything, especially on a truck. I find it so satisfying when I remove the masking tape and the paint hasn't bled onto the other color. An airbrush really makes all the difference in the world when making those two-tone paint schemes. Better control on the flow, thinner coats than with a rattle can, the paint dries quicker... The molded body details just pop... No contest. Very nice Ford you're building there.
As far as tractor trailers go, some don't mind the width difference as it is not by much. But if you are picky on this as I can be, you'll see the 1:24th scale tractor's rear wheels poke out slightly from under the 1:25th scale trailer. Another thing, the tractor's wheels won't be the same size as the trailer's unless you swap the trailer wheels for the bigger 1:24th scale one's. But then again, that won't matter much as there are all sizes (19.5 to 24 inch rim diameter)of wheels with different sidewall heights on trailers.
Well, I'm just back from looking at your Fotki album... You really have some outstanding builds there and enough Detroit Diesels in those models to make me drool! So forget that other comment of mine concerning the engine choice on this Kenworth! LOL! By the way, that avatar Pete 351,simply put: a delight. The blue and orange heavy hauler Freightliner is another standout, the dual steer Autocar dump truck is beautiful work and the... You know where I'm going with this.
