Good news everyone, Mikes Decals now has a digital dash decal sheet goodies sheet ready http://www.mikesdecals.com/product_info.php?products_id=4741 And one other note I think is worth mentioning, the chassis in this kit can be used to build the COT era cars, going back to 2007, not sure how much work will be needed to use the resin COT bodies though. -

Revell Full Detail/Glue NASCAR Kits

Yes, this new kit is looking really good, it pains me, but I gotta give Revell some credit on this one for what I am seeing, and yes, I have been missing a full detail kit since around 2006 when Revell did the last ones. -
Made a trip to the LHS for the paints and the sheet plastic Stopped by Hobby Lobby and picked up the Camaro From my mailbox was the Calsonic R34, been trying to get one over a year, bought this one on Ebay, and then HLJ finally got a restock of them and I have one in my PWH( whoops, forget to cancel that order, I backed ordered it in Nov of 215) But, the silver lining to me having a second one, opening the box, I found the body had been pancaked during shipping( no wonder, the kit was sent inside some very thin styrofoam pieces and wrapped in shipping plastic.

Ford and Mazda are sharing this platform, and it used on the following cars. Mazda GG platform cars 2002–2005 Mazda Atenza (sedan) 2002–Present Mazda Mazda6 (sedan) 2007+ Mazda CX-9 (crossover SUV) 2007+ FAW Besturn Ford CD4 Platform 2013–present Ford Fusion (CD391) 2015–present Ford Edge (CD539N) 2013–present Lincoln MKZ (CD533) 2017-present Lincoln Continental 2016–present Lincoln MKX (U540) 2014–present Ford Mondeo (CD391) 2016–present Ford Galaxy (CD390E) 2016–present Ford S-Max (CD539E) 2016–present Ford Taurus (D568 China market) And I quote And I quote And I quote -
Revell Full Detail/Glue NASCAR Kits

Glad I have nice stockpile of the previous Revell NSCAR tires that I can use if the kit tires do turn out to be like what we are seeing. What I dont get why is Revell changing the tires, and not using the ones from the snap kits, which are the same ones (very close) they have been using since the late 90's when they went to the smooth sidewall and used decals for the wording. That is a head scratcher for sure. -

Well, good thing that the Camrys are 100% built here in the USA, in Georgetown Kentucky, making them more American than the current Chevy SS( Australia), and the Ford Fusion(built in Mexico), which is built on the Platfom that comes from Mazda, Toyota has every right to be in NASCAR. -

But, teams still still run red/yellow stripes on the rims, not as thick as the built up, but they are still there. -

Its not you, and I dont think it is a optical illusion, they do seem way off to me as well, I am not liking them, and they do look too tall and wide. -

The dash looks to be the same dash that they are using in the current snap versions, its more of generic dash, but there is no detail on the gauge area, so that is perfect for it being used as a digital dash. -

Hold on there for moment, Revell is still currently trying to work out the details with Toyota, so that is not a done deal yet( from Ed on Saturday), but the Chevy's will be following soon, hopefully Q4. -

Well finally, just like the press release Revell put out stating they would do the full detail/glue kits after the snap kits, well, here they are, starting with the Ford Fusions, with the updated 2016/2017 body, the first two will be for Kevin Harvick and Danica Patrick, the Chevy's will follow, and per Ed, they are currently working on getting the licensing from Toyota so they can do the Toyota as well. Thanks to Blubaja for these photo's, ( we have already seen this at NNL Milwaukee, but these are much better)

Here are more of his ( Blubaja aka Francis) photo's he took.

I ended up taking a break from this because the issues of the body panels not fitting correctly, I am going to finish this one, it may not be perfect, I am still going to have some gaps with the engine cover, part of that is the fact that the chassis plate was warped, but I did lot of cutting and removing of parts with the engine assembly and what not get a somewhat better fit, so , I wont be opening up the engine cover , its getting glued on. New paint job as well, had some issues on the first and second paint jobs, last time had a lot of bleep in the clear coat, so changed up the color , this time I went with Lotus Isotope Green, I would of stayed with the green, but didnt think I had enough to do one more paint job and didnt really want to order another bottle for this build( I liked that green and will get another bottle to use on something else :D)
-
Yes , that logic is working on me as well, and I am opened up to the possibility of getting a few of them that I was on the fence about.
-
On the topic of handling the display modes, from what I am hearing, and I am not taking any sides here, Ed stated that the was ok with the "handling" of them for photo's.
-
I am not sure how he has managed to do it for as long as he has dealing with the lowest common denominator of the hobby , not sure it something I could do for that long.

Yep, best less than $10 spent, I love mine. -
LOL, you know it's a part of his job to attend the shows, and I am sure that Revell is paying for his time to attend the shows, he isnt doing it out of the kindness of his heart.
