  1. Here we have a Nissan Laruel Medalist from Aoshima , paint is from Scale Finishes, and its a Nissan very dark red( I cant not remember the name right this moment) also, new camera, learning curve.
  2. You would be surprised actually.
  3. That is not going to happen, not with the looming 40 or 50 MPG mandate coming( cant remember which one) , there is very little room for the stylist to work.
  4. Correct, I made a typo, but thank you very much for pointing that out.
  5. Being completely honest, cars from the era this thread is focusing on looked like deformed bubbles on wheels and had the same styling.
  6. I must of misplaced my rose colored glasses , darn it. But I will agree on some things, like the stupid drivers.
  7. Geoff , here is my response I posted on Facebook for the very same question I dont want to say it was bad, it was not a just add paint and glue to the box and shake. Its a simple kit, and most of its straight forward , there are some steps that the instructions are not very clear. The gear shift lever , it tells you cut the knob off, and then stick thru the hole in the fire wall, you dont need to do that, you can, if you are very careful, put the end without the knob thru the firewall. Issue I had with fitting the exhaust pipe, you have to put it on after you attach the body/frame, but it was lining up inside the engine compartment , so I trimmed a little bit of it and it fit, its not connected to anything though lol. On to the engine , the half shafts caused the engine to stickup in the rear. They seem to be just a tad bit to long , and when attached to the inside of the hub. I didnt cut down the exhaust like the suggestion booklet tells you too, I cut it down at the rear The tires do no not want to stay on the wheels, I used parts box headlight lenes instead of the kit supplied not chromed headlight buckets . Fit issue with the hood, and it wont sit flush like is supposed too, I had to trim done the two pins, bend them down, and open the openings on the dash to get it sit semi flush with the body. Pro tip , Tamiya's 18mm masking tape is the perfect width for the part of the windshield you have to mask.
  8. Should have it next week , will be doing a review of the kit.
  9. Aoshima kit, Tamiya Black paint , since its an AZ car, tinted they windows
  10. Here is the Honda Civic from Beemax, decent kit building out of the box, Tamiya white and blacked used, I forgot to put the side molding on before the decal process , whoops , also snapped the rear window in two while wiping it off, another whoops
  11. Heller kit, painted with Tamiya Met Blue (disclaimer time, still getting use to the new camera)
  12. Being tired today really irked me.
  13. Its easier to complain than it is to praise I guess.
  14. Thats a nice shade of red you used, what is it ?
  15. Its hard to say really, We are still waiting for some kits that were supposed to be out in Dec of last year, so while that may be a targeted date, I would not expect to see it then.
  16. Yep, just been waiting on the official word( although I think these may leaked as well), some of it has been known, but Ive been holding off on posting anything because Aoshima went after a few guys that posted a leaked photo of the Pagani Hyuara There is more coming, not so much in the Super Car world, but with some other already tooled kits.
  17. I would love to get both of those kits without having to sell body parts on the black market
  18. last few days have been nice.
  19. Some nice work, I might try this on the one I have, can you tell me what size strip styrene you used ?
  20. Cant fault you for being honest about it Sometimes, I am the same way, well, I always want the best price, but most times, I just want to go and get what I need and to be left alone.
  21. But 9 out of 10 times, the internet does have the best prices, not every LHS is like yours, the LHS here wont beat internet prices( that I am aware of), then you add local sales tax and gas. I will agree for some items, the LHS is the better option vs buying online, I tend to buy most paints from the LHS, as its just cheaper in the long run most of times.
  22. I think people get what they want out of the their LHS, and there is no right or wrong way to buy supplies/kits for the hobby, you get out of the LHS what you want, I get out of it what I want, and both makes us happy, I spend more money online than I do in the LHS, and I get out that what I want, best possible prices . There is no one size fits all here, if going to LHS and having a social experience makes you happy and that is what you wanting, than that is great for you.
