  1. This was going to be a out of box build, but I messed a few of the decals, so I had I used the sheet from Hobby Design to finish it, paint is Mclaren Orange from Scale Finishes, I do think a blind monkey would of done a better job
  2. Aoshima's Season III version of K.I.T.T , I did use Tamiya Smoke on the rear windw and t-tops http://i1000.photobucket.com/albums/af125/nascar49/2015%20Builds/IMG_0303_zpspi5wgdcx.jpg[/iM
  3. I dont feel its to late in the game, there is always time to for change.
  4. Awesome, so I am , but I could find better use of that time elsewhere , and not have to break out the power tools just to swap out a set of wheels, but to each their own, whatever makes you happy
  5. And thats my point, I would like to see Revell /AMT/Moeibus switch over to polycaps. Paddle wheels look like a steam boat paddle wheel.
  6. Its not about playing them, not ever sure where that came from. polycaps dont really allow them roll around, there are a few a that might , but its a rarity that they do.
  7. Sounds like O'Hare is the problem, and not the planes
  8. Well, I just shipped 9 kits, I went with FedEx this time, hoping to have it here for the holiday weekend, if I went with EMS, I would have it Monday (I still could get the shipment on Monday via FDX)
  9. AA is 330g, 300SL is 420g
  10. Just paid for mine too, although, my shipping was a lot more than yours What shipping method did you chose, SAL/EMS/Fedup
  11. I would like to see there be a standardized wheel attachment across all the model companys world wide , my vote would be for polycaps , its of my opinion that its the best method for attaching wheels , and I would love to see the Big two US companys switch over to that. And while we are at it, do same with the wheels whenever possible , no more paddle style wheels , those are just a PITRE.
  12. You also said the Ford F350 kit from Meng was "un-buildable" , least with this kit, you give an exmaple why its un-buildable
  13. Tamiya like quality, that is why. Did you miss the criticisms about the trunk not opening ?
  14. Just gonna agree with this, more so on the "gem of a kit", minus the wheel/tire size, it looks very nice.
  15. Yes it is, thats why I said for us in the USA , its also out in Japan, in fact, Hobby Search is sold out of it already , HLJ does not think the kit exist. I made a typo, its listed as early Aug Just as an FYI, Tower shows early Sept for the 918, we shall see.
  16. Tower Hobbies has the i8 listed for a late Aug release for us here in the states.
  17. Bingo!! , thats why HLJ private warehouse feature is great, I ship when the total cost per kit is around $7/9 per kit
  18. One of the LHS has always been good at ordering stuff for you if they dont have it, I had them order me a couple of cans Tamiya Spray paint, they were past the TS numbers they stock.
  19. I heard that too
  20. yes http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM24339/Aut
  21. Here is some info on it from Hobby Search , I missed pre ordering at HLJ, so I have to wait tell they take orders again, or find another place to order from. - Can be put on a smooth curve without any wrinkle, it is PVC masking tape with flexibility. - And available in three types of 2,3,5mm. - Use a 5mm If you divide coating a gentle curve. Because there is a width less likely According curve. The tighter parts of the Earl and then use them to distinguish 2mm width, the 3mm width. - None of the length of the tape is 20m. ( This is a machine translation. Please allow for possible misinterpretations in the text. ) And this is from Tamiya USA A soft resin material is used, allowing the tape to adhere in a curved line while preventing paint from seeping into masked off areas. Use of narrower tape is recommended for sharper curves.
  22. Tamiya is releasing curved masking tape, will come in three sizes, 2mm,3mm,5mm, release is set for this month, and if ordered direct from Japan, expect to pay around $3 per roll, so its just a tad bit more than the normal tape.
