Another reason to like older cars!
martinfan5 replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nope, still sticking with newer cars for daily drivers, say 2000's and up, maybe some 90's Japanese cars. -

Looks good -
There are already issues with Windows 10 crashing Nvidia drivers, my laptop has already reserved its free upgrade, but I am going to hold off for at least a few months before I update/upgrade. Probably a good idea.. I've reserved my free upgrade also...I still like using Windows for certain applications, though I do prefer a Mac in general. I signed up for the program which I can not think of the name right this minute , to be beta testor for W10, did not take part in it though.

The Henderson HL is in the plaza on the north west corner of Sunset and Stephanie. True, but when you consider 40% off, plus (usually, for me) no tax, even with the cost of shipping included, can still be a good deal. Perhaps they haven't yet figured out the default behavior of the new software, can be edited as required/desired. oh yeah, thanks I do enjoy the attention of a whiner. I like showgirls........ G I like it when girls show me their, er, well got keep it PG........................................... -

I like getting 40% off a can of $11 Tamiya Primer, I care less about the companys religious views, saving money trumps that, and always will. Its a very nice feature to use -
No.

Concerning the NHRA TV lineup
martinfan5 replied to Nytrozilla's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think overall its going to be better in the long for the NHRA moving over the Fox Sports twins, ESPN cares less about anything on four wheels, the only issue could be that Fox Sports 1 is in10 million less homes than ESPN is. Or I could be wrong and moving to Fox Sports could be bad. On a related side note, it was reported that Disney is forcing ESPN to cut 250million dollars from its budget by 2017, and here we have the NHRA leaving The biggest problem I have with the change is I hate to watch or support Fox networks in any way, shape, or form. I'm not saying the actual coverage will be better or worse, ESPN has some issues with their coverage but I don't have the same issues with their network or ownership. Fair enough. -
I'd not payed any attention to that at all, but mine is behaving the same way as you describe. Not a big deal to me really though. Agreed, its not a big deal, and I am not trying to make an issue of it, just curious.

Degreasers as Strippers?
martinfan5 replied to fseva's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
For stripping lacquers, you want to use 91% Isopropyl Alcohol, keep in mind that brake fluid has been known to make plastic brittle. Scuffing paint with say 400 or 800 grit sand paper, or something like wool pad will help the stripping process , and this applies to using the purple cleaner, heat, it at all possible, set the container outside or in a garage , someplace that it gets warm, the heat speeds up the process. -
Do you have the same broken image icon on the left side with FireFox ?

Currently , on this site, on the left hand side , in front of each section, I am seeing a broken image icon, logged in using Chrome, and there is nothing there , weird.

Oh yeah, nice gust of wind out of nowhere knocking the sun shade off the hooks and breaking it, for the second time(meaning, second sun shade), so now, the third one is up, lets see if my idea to bend the hooks upwards will prevent it from happening again.

Been having issues with FF lately too, I am guessing its up to date, as I have set to auto update, but its been real bugging the last few months, I might be making the move to Chrome, or Microsofts new Edge Browser, hearing good things about it . I have Chrome already, and use it for some things , like Amazon.

Same here , but no kits in the clearance section, there is nothing to be worried about, what the empty shelves mean is they are getting ready to do a reset and will be stocking new kits coming out. -
Degreasers as Strippers?
martinfan5 replied to fseva's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I have no issues with Super Clean as a stripper, works great , works even better when it gets warm. The Purple Power stuff is not as strong as SC, and is I guess you could say a knock off version of SC, now, SC is no longer being made my Castrol, SC is being made by SuperClean Brands, a look at Castrol corp website and their products and there is no SC listed. I have used both, and I have not noticed a difference between the two. Now what type of paint did you try and strip?, SC is not great at stripping lacquer based paint, although it will, it just takes a very long time, when fresh, it will strip Tamiya TS paints. Sometimes, you need to scuff the paint to help SC do its job, and in most cases, you have to actually scrub the parts you are trying to strip, did you do that ?
