  1. Dave, you can do it on one of the AMT trailers , and it shouldnt be that hard, the track system is going to be one of the first things I do after I attach the sides to the frame, I use L-channels and a I-beam , I will do my best to take enough photos to help you out with the gate and track system. The other way you could go about it, and I would recommend this for the AMT trailer , is using square tube, or maybe even rectangle tube , and cut down the middle of it vertically , you just want to remove enough from the middle so the middle of the I beam can fit in it , I hope that makes sense.
  2. Pink Primer=less paint needed to get full coverage
  3. And that irks me that it hasnt rained here today
  4. Thank you Anthony, I hope the Lonestar turns out half as nice your Ford Aeromax.
  5. Johnny 5 is alive!!! I to thought the same thing
  6. The second part of this project arrived today
  7. Lonestar, .60 Evergreen sheet, can TS13
  8. If you want to use auto colors, use Scale Finishes paint, its pre mixed and ready to go , you cant go wrong with that paint. Once you figure it out, mixing paint is easy, just keep in mind that you want the paint to be close the consistency of 2% milk for most paints, and check YouTube, you will find more how to videos on airbrushing and mixing paint than you will know what to do with. My current air compressor is from Harbor Freight, have had it for probably three years now, if not longer, works like it did the day I got it, including the airbrush that came with, it actually works better than my Paasche VL Double Action brush , I am ready to replace it though.
  9. Pink Primer is good, you dont have to use as much paint to get full coverage. And it pops just as much as it would if you used white primer. Pink primer on these, red paint was different on each one.
  10. Its of my opinion that Mr Hobby Mr Surfacer is even better than Tamiya Primer, and I would switch to that full time, but its not cheap if you want to get in the spray can , their black primer is amazing. I dont use enamels anymore if I can help it, but I dont blame you for not wanting to try them again, better off that way. Model Master's Lacquer primer is pretty good, the gray is very dark, its very close to being the shade of Nato black, does not go on very smooth in my experience, I have not used the white. I dont use auto primers anymore, I have found that its to hot for Japanese plastic, have had issues with it crazing, so I just dont bother, I do like to keep a can of it on hand for other uses, but not for bodies. Yeah , not even close, the price that hobby Lobby sells it for is the same or very close to all the LHS here, its right around $11 a can, Hobby Lobby and the 40% off coupon is the way to go.
  11. I have a bottle of the Loctite G02 glue, it does work good, I will agree, the set up time does take a little bit , for me, its a set it and forget about for a little bit , and it does wipe right off, if dried, I wet a Q-tip and it comes right off. I have gone back to using Formula 560 Canopy glue. For the Loctite G02 , I use a glue tip, the ones that you can use on Testors tube glue, I had to trim the tip on the bottle down a good amount for it to fit, but the issue and why I went back to the Canopy was the glue doesnt really settle back down in the bottle, so it clogs up the tip/ and the cap/tip that is apart of the bottle everytime.
  12. Just as an FYI, this is what I am building again
  13. I think it had more to do with what was being said than it being a General Lee, so you can thank the people on this forum that got your thread locked, that is my guess reading what Harry posted when he locked thread. Its still sad that a model could not appreciated without turning into a whee wheeing match.
  14. That would please me
  15. My airbrush not wanting to work.
  16. Little slow on the progress, sides have been cut, they still need some work before I can attach them to the frame and the frame again with what will be the flooring(not attached) , and made the steps for the lounge.
  17. I would say it turned out pretty good , nice work
  18. Thank you, my knowledge is limited on the touring car series , I knew they were based on the street car, but to what extent I was not.
  19. Nice work
  20. William, HLJ website is currently down, that is why the links are not working. I just tried to go there and got a 404 error , same with the links I do believe the race car is based off of the street car with all the mods made to turn into a race car.
  21. I do agree Gregg is a nice guy.
