I am not disagreeing with what you said, and there are two different Revells we are talking about, I think there still is some good in the Mustang kits, its one of those iconic cars if you will. I really want to make a comparison to your comment on taking two years for project, but I think its going to fall on the lines of comparing apples to oranges so I will refrain. I am not surprised that new stuff/late model subjects are a crapshoot, which I get why Revell wouldn't want to try and do current stuff, makes sense I wonder if Revell has got the licensing sorted out for a subject they wanting to get back into, hmm Brett, I am curious who you work full, maybe everyone else knows, and I dont, but I am just curious, if you feel like telling me, PM me

George, here is another way to look at why we stash our kits, with model kits, you never know how many times a kit is going to be issued, some get reissued for 40 plus years, so get one run and they are done, so if you want a kit, its best to buy it when its first issued, because you may not see it reissued again. Sure, most of the kits that have OOP for long periods of time can still be found online, but how much as the price gone up on that kit. And if you are a builder of Japanese kits, they almost never reissue kits, so once they done, they are done, and once the supply runs out, good luck, and when you do, they are going to cost you. So buying now ensures us we will have the kits that we want , and not have to take out a second mortgage on the house to buy that kit that we passed up years back

Yes, that is what James is trying to say, it would made sense for Revell to , oh, I dont know, do some research on what you are to tool up, maybe look at the after market world, but Revell decided to keep their head up their collective rear ends and release them in 1/25th scale, so then you add on that they a few years late after the whole tuner bubble pop, and gee, sales were bad, no kidding Its called smart business planning, and sometimes I dont think the Revell has any at times Brett can throw out numbers tell the cows come home and do a dance , but the fact is , half of the sales blunders that have come from Revell in the past decade are their own bloody fault. My 2001 Nissan Maxima is still going strong at 294,000 on the OD, engine and tranny never been rebuilt, no rust, everything works like it should , well ok, the truck light works when it wants to, and sometimes the steering wheel radio controls will stop working for a few mins here and there, mostly in cold weather. Ace, lets add something to what you posted about Japanese cars from the 70's, while that is true, we need to be honest, there were just as many American cars on the road that were junk too, are we forgetting the Ford Pinto, Chevy Vega just to name a few. Good point, they do prefer diecast over plastic, and most of them, well at-least on the one forum I am on, a good number are members of some LEA. But I still think there is a market in plastic world for some police car kits.

James is 100% correct, all the kits James listed can be found on Ebay for starters, old and new, most for around the $20-30 mark, just depending on how greedy the seller is

While I agree about the Toyota/Subaru, and would love to get one myself, the Toyota 86 was not design or marketed for the US market , so how well it sells here I dont think is going to make a difference overall
