Is Ebay really that evil?
martinfan5 replied to lanesteele240's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have been a member on ebay for a very long time, I have only had a few transaction that went wrong, but the sellers made everything right. Ebay has been great to me, and I will continue to use ebay As a seller, its not so great, thats why I dont sell that often on ebay Just with anything else, you need to do your home work before buying from sellers, check their feedback, always read the fine print if you will in the listings, but of course, there are always going to be those bad apples , but thats like that with all things in life when dealing with the public -
I have tired many many many many times to email bandit resin's, even tried on ebay, never get a response, I guess my business is not needed

Could be a cost issue too, maybe they dont have the money to invest in to P/E sets right now, there could be a lot of reason's, maybe email them and ask them if they have any plans to -

Nascar Car of tommorow ?
martinfan5 replied to shafer's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
Bruce pretty much covered it, the only difference in the COT between the makes is the hood and top half of the nose, the side quarter windows . everything else is the same body wise for the most part. -
I have read people using toothpaste on models, what are the reason's or what is the use of toothpaste for? I read somewhere about using it before painting.

Tryin out New stuff : embossing powder
martinfan5 replied to bryan_m's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Don, its real easy to do, one more tip, dump the excess on to a paper towel or piece of paper and then that excess can go back into the jar . -
Tryin out New stuff : embossing powder
martinfan5 replied to bryan_m's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
I picked up a jar of embossing powered and did not like how it looked, I think I will stick with flocking Bryan, the floor does look good -
There is no difference from Model Master- Testors enamel paint, just bigger bottle and different color offerings Edit- I could be wrong though, I guess it depends in which way you plan on applying them, I have not noticed a difference between the two when using a brush Again, just my opinion, I am not an expert

reference pics needed
martinfan5 replied to blackbeard's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
The last two pics are not correct DOT cars, there are rebuilds, the only thing correct about them is the chassis color and the city chevy decals -
reference pics needed
martinfan5 replied to blackbeard's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
If you want a good match, get a can SEM paint #61113 chassis gray, its a good match for that time period, I can tell you that the chassis is gray, all the chassis for the DOT cars are Gray. I am in the process my self of getting all the cars done, and currently working on the city chevy, what paint are you thinking about using for the body? -
1/25 Revell '90 Mustang LX 5.0 2'n1 Special Edition

Same here about the wheels -
Here is the Aoshima Toyota FT-86 kit review, I am going to cover the wheel option kit in this review as well since the only difference is the wheels and body molded in color. The Aoshima version lets you decided if you want to build the Japan version, Europe version, North American Scion FRS version. There are decals for all, plus LHD/RHD opitons Now on the bread an butter of the kit, what you dont get is any type of engine detail at all, but Aoshima makes up for that by giving you and removable boot lid, you also adjustable ride height and off set camber options . The Aoshima is completely tooled differently then the Tamyia version, there seems to be a lot more parts to the Aoshima kit vs the Tamiya kit. The Tamiya kit you can only have the option to build a show room stock version, the Aoshima kit gives options to build non show room stock, you have the option to leave out the cup holders, the dash is molded so you can leave out the radio(decal) The wheel option kit does not have the stock wheels. I am going to say both are kits (Aoshima ,Tamiya) are great kits, just one has engine detail and can only be built in one version, and the other no engine detail , but can be built three different ways. As for the price, both are about the same. Now for the pics
