Same here, I use Testors clear glue, but I dont have the brush, the squeeze bottle, it works, but I will still find away to mess it up -

To be honest, I have no idea why I still even bother, I would use krylon for the basic colors, but now that I have a air brush, why I dont just by the testor bottle paints instead, I love the results I get when you thin them with lacquer thinner -

How about trying to use Krylon paint, , I know better, and know I should not be using that c r a p, but I still do sometimes. No matter what, its going to cause problems for you and make the body take a trip to the purple pond -
Thanks guys, I really wanted to do yellow on this on, but all my yellow paint did was just fight me, and after this past weekend at the clubs BBQ, I saw someone that was there and they had a blue GTO, and I really liked how looked.

1984 Custom Cadillac (California Wheels Edition) By Revell
martinfan5 replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
This is what I dont like about Revell, why issue this kit or kits like it in these series, and donk series, with out a stock option, to me its just dumb, it just sucks for us that want it to be stock. So lets see, they have done this as a donk / low rider, whats next for this kit?, tuner series -
What's under the Hood of this car?

Off road racer Monaro , started as the Pontiac GTO
martinfan5 replied to sports850's topic in Model Cars
Thats for the pics, I am going to have to give it shot, I dont have any pics of the nose piece, but all I did was sanded down the upper grill to remove the Pontiac part, the I cut it open, filled the sides a little bit, and then added a strip of styrene to middle of it. And for the lower grill opening, I filled the sides in just a little bit, and the same with the driving lights. I should of filled the sides of the upper grill in a little more. -
That is cool

That would be great, I thought about doing it on this one, and I still could, the dash is not glued in placed

Here is the AMT/Johnny Lighting Pontiac GTO, well I wanted to do this one as a Holden Monrao, but the transkit for was a little pricey , then when you added in shipping and the exchange rates for AUS, it was going to be close to or well over $50, for a front bumper and a RHD dash. I still need to finish the driving light, and make another US plate for it. So I decided to see if I could convert the nose piece to the look like the Holden, well its close, but not good either. The car started off being black, it was one of the first bodys that I A/B, didn’t like it, stripped it, tried yellow, again had problems , after four more trips from the purple pond and 97% alcohol, I used Testor one coat star spangled blue, clear coated it with Future So I decided to come up with a little story for this one. This is outback Jack’s car, he move to the states for work, but had to leave behind his beloved Holden Monaro, so after being here for awhile, he bought himself a GTO, since is was a Holden just with a different name plate. Then one night, he was ebay , and came across a nose piece to convert GTOs to Holden’s, well it was badly done piece, but he didn’t want to spend a lot of money either, so he got it, but it still didn’t cheer him up.

Here is Eleanor, this is one of Gregg Wann’s casting, his casting are great, well for me it was, over all, I am not 100% happy with the way it turned, but that was my doing not because of the casting. I used a Revells part pack 427 Ford engine, the tires came from a Revell Mini kit . At time, I did not have an A/B, so I used what I could find being the closest to the paint, Paint is MM Bright Platinum (Plymouth) Auto lacquer, the stripes I just used MM Black Lacquer, then clear coated.

Low deck?, never heard that term before , what does it mean? -
Wow, I think your skills are pretty darn good, I agree it looks so much better not being all black. I felt the same way about the lemans Vettes, all dark interior and chassis, very boring

Minor pet peeve...
martinfan5 replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree Harry, I dont think we are asking for knock your socks off wiper blades and arms, but lets at least have separate castings for it, and if you want that knock your shocks off , there is always the P/E option. -
I have to agree with the tracking, one of my last buys on ebay was from China or Japan, dont remember , but just out of curiosity I \ checked on the progress with the tracking number, it had its destination as Spain, not USA and my address, the kits made it to me, but i think its funny though. Maybe the kits went thru Spain to get to me, I have no idea.

Lol yea, a little to hot water, It would of been fine, but I stepped outside do something model related, came back to find that. I placed a parts replace order for all three of them. I am thinking about putting the engine I pulled out of my glued bombed Enzo into the 430

Just like from Gone In Sixity second's, when Nick Cage trys to steal Eleanor, something always goes wrong and thats his Eleanor, so lets carry that over to the model world. This got brought while I was talking to Romell at the show this weekend, and I was telling him mine are Ferrari kits. No matter what I do, something always goes wrong with them, if its not sending the body to the purple pond many times, its fit issues,or just having issues in general. And its already started with my current Ferrari F430 kit I just started, three important parts are warped, and trying to put them back into shape just ruined them , so what is yours ?
