Thanks, I still need to do one coat but its getting their again. I am doing some research on the 2008 knight rider mustang, and the interior pic I posted is from the pilot version. This is the series version interior, its more stock, and thus I am going to go with this one.

In no way do I want my first car back, it was a mid 60's mercury I think, It was in 1998 that i got it, and it was a pile dog stuff, if any one has heard Adam Sandlers song POS car, that was my car. The front frame was cracked, the brakes really didnt work, I had to use a zippo at night to see how fast I was going , the steering wheel had more play then a record did( wasnt my first choice of word to use ). My second car I would not mind getting back, it was a 84 olds cutlass, I had fun with that car, I remember the night I was able to get on the wire hub caps to come off. It was for the most part a good car. The day I got rid of it was when I was out looking at cars with a buddy, and the moment I pulled into the dealership's lot, up in smoke it went I wouldnt want my third car back either, I traded the up in smoke olds for a used ford tempo, it was the last year it was made, anyways things were good for the first two weeks, .I rear ended a pick up on the freeway, so i busted the front grill, and the left front headlight brackets . I used clear packing tap to secure the left front turn signal housing to headlamp housing, the headlight housing was then attached to the car using duck tape and rope. To aim the headlight I once again used clear packing tape over the headlight on the the hood. The hood latch was busted as well, but did not know tell a week or so later while driving and hood flies up and I could no longer see, after that the hood never would close very good. Well it keeps going down hill, one day while on the freeway, left front tire blows and takes the fender with it, so I went to a pull a part yard and got a fender close in color to my car. Well one night while at work ( worked security) had a friend with me, and I had to patrol two small strip malls, in back we would see how fast we could get shopping carts going(45mph) head on into a block wall. Well one of them bounce off the wall and into the right rear door , busting the door handle clean off. And then the car was broken into one night so I had no drivers side window, and at the same time when the car was driven faster then 55/60 MPH the fuel system would go out, so I would have to bring the car to stop and the shut it down before I could continue on my way. And then a few weeks after that it got repossessed, I happily gave up the keys. Sorry for that being so long

Hey guys, well while being on another model forum ( from the UK), It got me thinking about doing a forigen car build or a excoita car build or something along those lines. what i am thinking is like a one make only build for one of them. Another idea I was thinking about was doing one for next year that every month will be a different subject and maybe make a contest or something, just throwing these ideas out there. If any one is interested or has an idea please share, I am thinking of starting it after the holidays , I dont need to add another build at the moment Update- If you have an Idea list it, then after there are enough of them I am thinking of doing a vote on them.

Not at all, you are welcome to join, just let me know what you are building so I can add you to list.

Bench Rage! Have you ever lost it?
martinfan5 replied to Chillyb1's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I dont think I have, but do get irritated sometimes when I have problems, mostly when it comes to painting , and then I am pissy for a while. -
So I worked my magic and have re painted it, am going to sand the body a little then give in more wet coat.
-
I have a 68 RR that I have not started on, and I have been thinking doing the Charger from the TV show Burn notice
-
i did the same thing twice with painting the wrong color. Oh yea now I see that you sanded the body, at first it look like light reflection , hmm I think I need to get my eyes checked again
-
No not yet, still need to finish this last one, I most likely will go at building one again next year, I think I have one on the list in my head for next year . I agree it would be nice to get a decal sheets for them, but i dont want to think how much said sheet would cost. I would love to do one up, but so many of todays teams paint schemes are so complex with colors and styles , that is almost impossible to by painting. Here is a FACT, almost all of race teams trailers and cars are no longer paint, they are all wrapped, more so the trailers.

I have been test fitting with the wheels from the kit, and they do look really good in the pegasus tires. Yea I have already started repainting it, I have a few lights coats down. I had to strip my ferrari 430 as well, I went to start clear coating it and found that I had some scrpaed some paint of the top of one of the wheel wells, and I a spot on the roof manage to get glue or something. Which is weird is i have not started working on this kit and its been away from any glue. Like I said, I have been hit with bad luck stick for painting all the sudden, (dont get me started on the 69 gtx build) . Have you clear coated yours yet?, and that filter looks good, nice work there. Is the mock with the tires on the axles?

TESTORS paint prices....OUCH.!
martinfan5 replied to AMT4EVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I know I can use them for interior's but what I was I was meaning is that interiors are not flat nor glossy, so its either semi gloss or matt , I am trying to make my interiors look better. Michaels does have good prices on the testors paint, but they only sell , well the ones in my area the normal testors paint and the one coat lacquer. The only one coat lacquer I use is the clear coat. -

Harry- thanks, I will be checking them out , are these paints glossy or flat finish? Back on paint prices, from what i can tell is HL sells there paint at the MSRP, I say this as I often look on testors/MM website and you can buy from them, and the price's are about the same. I dont know or remember what our other LHS sell the paints for, but I know its more then HL. My G/F thinks it funny that I go to the auto parts store to get paint for models -
Thanks for the tips, i was looking at pics of the engine bay I could not see any engine wiring at all, I was thinking about getting Revells F 430 kit to use the engine but not sure if I want to do that.

The body is painted, have not yet cleared it yet. Dr. I agree with you and almost all Ferrari's are gorgeou Edit- I could of swore I posted a pic of the painted body, guess not
-
Thats what I thought, but in the pics they look liked the kit tires for some reason, I have those same tires and they are nice, I am going to use them on the gt500 KR I put the body in 91% alcohol about 30 mins ago and its already down to the primer, so now its in the purple bath to get the primer off. That was fast , wow
