On the first morning of my first visit to Canada, I did have to Google "peameal bacon" to figure out what they were trying to feed me for breakfast.....

1966 chevelle super stock eliminator
Rodent replied to R. Thorne's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
The Revell '64 Impala should have a 4GC as its stock carburetor option. -
Thanks Steve. I was aware of the Shelby wheel, but somehow didn't connect the two as the same wheel. Working on a 50th anniversary tribute build, and I was thinking about using those wheels.

A question for the (other) old farts on here. What 1:1 wheel was the optional wheel that came in the late 60s MPC Coronets and Chargers through the early 70s? I don't remember seeing them on real cars.

I got the 1 mm yesterday and the 4 mm today. Wish I ordered the 2 mm too. I touched up something that I had previously painted with Spaz Stix, and WOW. This will come in handy touching up all the sprue attachment points on the 49 Ford.

Armenian descent, yes. Born in Fresno, according to Wikipedia.

I doubt it it. "Mike's" birth name was Krekor Ohanian.

Oh, BTW: The instructions and the holes in the intake manifold have the carburetors mounted backwards. From the internet pictures I see of 58 and 59 Cadillac tri powers, the float bowls should face the front.

Just picked one up at the LHS. Going to try to replicate (with better workmanship, LOL) the one that my dad and I built together in 1967 after they yanked out my tonsils. Gonna be red, with the Cadillac engine. Carbs this time instead of the blower. My parents' first car together was a green '49 Custom Club Coupe, and we already had his replica proudly displayed on the mantel. It's around here somewhere. I have been meaning to post it in the survivors thread when I find it. The red '49 was the first detailed kit I had. We built it together, but I was allowed to solo soon enough.

Our sucky NBA team just got a new stadium on the taxpayer's dime. Greed isn't limited to the NFL.

1965 Mercury Cyclone Hardtop- Pics added Jan 5

Tube headers is probably what I would do too. Hurst shifter, aftermarket tach, Polyglas tires on Torque Thrust wheels. Like the proud second owner would have had it around 1970-71. -

The 271 HP exhaust manifolds were different, at least in a Mustang. The outlets pointed more at the ground than the standard versions. The later 351W manifolds had a similar shape, (Pic shamelessly stolen from e-Bay) -
Like if they had continued making the 2 door Safari. I like the idea!

Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news
Rodent replied to Dave Metzner's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I don't know if it is a urban legend or not, but I have heard that not enough smallblock top loaders could be produced to meet demand after the Mustang was introduced, so Ford started buying T-10s again. -
Debbie Reynolds dies today from a stroke RIP
Rodent replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
She was a very talented and beautiful person when she was young. I don't know the rest of her story, but I saw her in Tahoe in 1988. She seemed drunk or drugged during her performance. The singing was not good and her attempt at comedy was worse. She talked a lot about Carrie even then. Perhaps she was living vicariously through her even then. We have lost far too many talented people this year. RIP Debbie and Carrie. -
Moebius '65 Mercury Comet Cyclone news

Ugh. That engine is kind of toy like, and the exhaust manifolds are a joke. Also, it looks like they tooled the radiator to match the later model water pump borrowed from the F100. Weren't both hoses on the passenger side until 1969? Looks like the Cyclone has the lower hose on the driver's side. Oh, and wouldn't they have used a top loader transmission in 1965 instead of a T-10 Warner?
