  1. Picked up the yellow Airflyte this morning at ToysRUs. Not sure what will pull it. Wish I could have found the green one instead.
  2. Website has been down for some time. I just assumed that Jim closed up shop. You could try writing him. His name is Jim Adkins. jimnohio.com 2093 Lincoln Ave. Lakewood, OH 44107 Or if you are on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jimnohio

Nice build of a car that knocked the socks off of my 10 year old feet when I saw my first 1:1. I had one in my stash, but gave it to a friend's son. I should pick up another one and build it!
  4. Bumpers on that kit remind me of the 1972 Volvo safety car. Wish we could get a new tool of all three of the two door Nomads. Nevertheless, you did a great job on this, shakiness and all. I am one of those freaks who prefers the 56 over the 55 and 57. Hope to see more of your builds! download.html
  5. It appears to be a 1958 365. As installed in the Cadillac, the heater hoses both come out of the driver's side of the water pump, and join metal tubes that run down the inner fender. As you mentioned, the Cadillac appears to have the heater core on the driver's side. I believe that the intake manifold on the early Cadillac V8s is "dry".
  6. So, I am building a 50th anniversary tribute build of the 49 Ford that my dad and I built together after my tonsils were yanked out. I am using the Cadillac engine with carbs, unlike the original build that had the blower. I would like to add heater hoses, but the 1:1 Cadillac engine has the fittings for the heater hoses on the driver's side, exiting the water pump (green circle area). Not sure how one would route heater hoses to the passenger side of the engine compartment (red circle). No room in the front to cross over, and the distributor is in the rear. Suggestions?
  7. Being a lifetime Californian, I am amazed at the prices you guys bought and sold cars for back in the day. That Sportsroof would have been worth $2k easily here in 1973 if it wasn't rusty. Spent a lot of time shopping for Mustangs with Dad around that time. Most already had crappy paint and a cracked dash pad.
  8. I have a Perry's Resin extended cab in my "to do" pile. It will be a replica of my 1:1 94 when I get around to building it.
  9. We call something similar "Canadian Bacon".
  10. What does the owner's manual say? I just looked at a maintenance schedule for a Pathfinder and it recommends changing the fluid every 20,000 miles.
  11. On the first morning of my first visit to Canada, I did have to Google "peameal bacon" to figure out what they were trying to feed me for breakfast.....
  12. Any / all of the Mayberry black and white Fords.
  13. The Revell '64 Impala should have a 4GC as its stock carburetor option.
  14. Thanks Steve. I was aware of the Shelby wheel, but somehow didn't connect the two as the same wheel. Working on a 50th anniversary tribute build, and I was thinking about using those wheels.
  15. A question for the (other) old farts on here. What 1:1 wheel was the optional wheel that came in the late 60s MPC Coronets and Chargers through the early 70s? I don't remember seeing them on real cars.
  16. I don't typically read that section because contests and shows are pretty rare in my area. Guess I will put it on the calendar for next year.
  17. I got the 1 mm yesterday and the 4 mm today. Wish I ordered the 2 mm too. I touched up something that I had previously painted with Spaz Stix, and WOW. This will come in handy touching up all the sprue attachment points on the 49 Ford.
  18. Armenian descent, yes. Born in Fresno, according to Wikipedia.
  19. Um, no. I probably would have driven the 130 miles and stayed the night if I hadn't just learned about it five minutes ago. I didn't see anything about it in the upcoming events on this site.
  20. I doubt it it. "Mike's" birth name was Krekor Ohanian.
  21. Oh, BTW: The instructions and the holes in the intake manifold have the carburetors mounted backwards. From the internet pictures I see of 58 and 59 Cadillac tri powers, the float bowls should face the front.
  22. Just picked one up at the LHS. Going to try to replicate (with better workmanship, LOL) the one that my dad and I built together in 1967 after they yanked out my tonsils. Gonna be red, with the Cadillac engine. Carbs this time instead of the blower. My parents' first car together was a green '49 Custom Club Coupe, and we already had his replica proudly displayed on the mantel. It's around here somewhere. I have been meaning to post it in the survivors thread when I find it. The red '49 was the first detailed kit I had. We built it together, but I was allowed to solo soon enough.
  23. Got this 1/43 diecast on FleaBay from China. The observant folks will realize why I bought it.
  24. Could have worked on the GMC, Fairlane, or Mustang this evening, but spent the time making an awesome chipotle macaroni and cheese for dinner. Stuff like that is why I don't get much bench time.
  25. "Cutless" is my goal every time I pick up an Ex-Acto knife. I frequently do not achieve my goal.
