  1. Yes. They originally had 1967 interior pieces. Revell pretended that they didn't know, but would ship replacement parts if you complained loudly enough. The pattern on the rear seat is still wrong even with the replacement parts.
  2. It's a beautiful car, but I can't imagine that color on anyone's fingernails or especially toenails.
  3. AMT '64 Impala had a display chrome disc brake. Looks like we have an all Steve thread
  4. When the Moebius F100 first came out, I thought I would get one. My LHS had it for $35.99. That was past my price point for a kit like that. I looked online, but never ordered one. Then I heard the griping on here about the kit's issues and saw pictures of what is in the box. I decided that I had enough to do without adding another kit to the stash. I guess that was my first run-in with a $30+ kit.
  5. Looks like $66.50 using the US Postal Service or $101.79 using FedEx.
  6. I have a "flat box" version in my stash, copyright 1998, that I will never build. My LHS has another one in a more traditional box on the shelf for $12 US in their NOS models department. Let me know if you don't find something closer. Unfortunately, it would probably take $40 to ship them to you from California.
  7. Ugh. The first thing that I hauled in my first convertible (70 Cutlass in 1980) was an incredibly huge pizza. At about 70 mph, there was enough wind buffeting in the back seat to make the pizza box start to levitate. Good thing that my front seat passenger had long enough arms to smack down the pizza before it left the car. Would make an interesting diorama, I guess.
  8. Me too, that's why I grabbed it for the reasonable sum of $15. I opened it when I got home. Glass is perfect. The white parts are stil in the original bag. The Gates tires are missing, but I wasn't going to use them anyway. There are probably some in my parts box if I change my mind. Emblems and scripts are really light. This is going to be a challenge to foil.
  9. Honestly, I swear that half of the people on this forum must have 12:00 flashing on their Betamaxes. I like my 2016 car and its newfangled features. And my 2014 car and its newfangled features. My 68 Mustang was awesome and I miss it. In reality, I couldn't reach the parking brake with my shoulder belt on. The Mazda turns on the wipers when the windshield gets wet.
  10. Scored this sealed (or resealed) GMC and some Spaz Stick at the LHS today. They must have purchased part of a collection or something. They also had the 72 stepside, a Mach Won, and an original AMT 62 Corvette. Some other stuff too, like the original Revell 240Z, original red, white and blue 53 Chevy panel truck POS that we all tried to build as kids.
  11. "Black plate" doesn't mean a whole lot on a pre 1963 vehicle. The black on yellow 1956 plates were replaced by yellow on black plates then. Plus, if you can come up with a pair of black plates that DMV considers clear (not assigned to a vehicle) they will let you reassign them to a 1963-69 vehicle. Likewise the earlier plates for an appropriate vehicle. Nice Cameo nonetheless.
  12. Interesting. You didn't get the updated interior that we got in 1998. That is identical to the '95-'97 US models.

  14. You are correct. My foggy memory was picturing the slightly older style with the sharper peaks. Odd thing is that the valve covers aren't plated in the GT/GTA kit.
  15. You are going to need the "Powered By Ford" valve covers from the Revell '68 CJ Mustang or '69 Mach 1 to make an accurate '67 FE engine. The stock LTD air cleaner will be a problem too. You may have to scratch build one or modify something to replicate it.
  16. The AMT '70 Monte Carlo also has one.
  17. It was definitely plastic, not diecast metal. Curbside, almost like a miniature promo.
  18. When I was little, an older neighbor gave me a white plastic Oldsmobile, probably a '61 or '62 88. It was fairly well detailed if I remember correctly, with chrome parts, and probably 1/43 scale. I always thought that it was an assembled model, but maybe not. I can't seem to find anything on the internet showing that such an animal ever existed. Any ideas? The neighbor was killed in 1965, so I am assuming that he gave it to me in 1964 or so. The car itself is long gone. Thanks for any leads!
  19. This W-30 is paint code 75, which Olds called Matador Red, Chevy called Cranberry Red, and Pontiac called Cardinal Red. You can see that the liners are a little lighter/brighter than the body color. If I remember correctly, the earlier A-Bodies had metal inner fenders, so the 66 GTO had plastic liners on the bottom. When GM went to the plastic inner fenders, they just molded them in red plastic.
  20. Completely un-helpful as they were. The ones that I remember seeing were kind of an orangy-red, kind of like Chrysler Hemi Orange/TorRed. Being red and being plastic, they tended to fade and hold dirt and grease. I think that I would try the model master Hemi Orange with dullcoat and see if it looks right.
  21. Probably not. Doesn't the magazine give you a car allowance?
  22. They are plastic even if they are black. I had a '70 Cutlass convertible in the early 80s.
  23. E85 is 85% ethanol, 15% gasoline. E15 is 15% ethanol, 85% gasoline. The EPA says that it is LEGAL in 2001 and newer PASSENGER CARS, not light trucks or other engines. That is, it will not adversely affect the emissions of 2001 and later cars. This is what Ford and GM say about E15: http://ethanolproducer.com/articles/9195/gm-ford-announce-e15-compatibility-with-new-models If you want to use it, it's easy: Trade your '07 for a '16
  24. Not really fond of 1960 cars, but I would probably want a Crocus Cream Impala convertible. Make it a 348 with lots of options. One of my cousins had one. He was killed in Vietnam in 1965, but his parents used it as a daily driver until 1969 or so. I have fond childhood memories of that old boat.
  25. This has been in the local news lately: http://www.sacbee.com/news/local/crime/article75892317.html By all reports, a really sweet young female shepherd that appears to have had a pot of boiling water poured on her I am sure that she will have many offers of adoptive homes once she heals a bit. Just like the Chihuahua that the CHP corralled on the Bay Bridge a few weeks ago.
