  1. At the LHS ( An acronym counts as a word, right?)
  2. FCA has been playing a big plant shuffle. Ram 1500 production was being moved to Sterling Heights for the new generation trucks. Now they are moving HD RAM production from Saltillo to Warren. They are supposed to be building a couple of large Jeep SUVs (probably based on a RAM platform) at Warren also. It makes sense to build your high dollar, high profit vehicles in the US or Canada where costs are higher, and your low margin vehicles somewhere else where costs are lower. Also, without getting political, FCA may be hedging their bets against NAFTA disappearing. A 25% "chicken tax" on a $75-80k truck would blow them out of the market.
  3. All FEs are "essentially" the same. Much like small block Chevys, they differed in valve cover design, oil fill location, and PCV system. 390 GTs and 428 CJs had a different exhaust manifold bolt pattern. A 60 352 looks a lot different externally than a 70 428 CJ.
  4. Thanks for changing the original heater hose subject line so my answer looks weird. I see a lot of whining on the 1:1 Pontiac forums about the correct color engine paint not being available and the rattle can stuff being too silver. I don't remember them being as metallic as your engine picture or mine.
  5. It looks like it attaches to the cylinder head. Except for the water crossover in the front, I don't believe that there was coolant in the intake manifold. Look at the tube screwed into the passenger head in the pic.
  6. A new store in Sacramento had one yesterday priced at $29.99.
  7. Scott, I am a couple years younger than you are, but I remember 1970 as the Year of the Polyglas. Dad even put a set on the 64 Galaxie then. That said, the 70 Charger brochure shows whitewall and white letter as the optional tires. 70 Charger Brochure
  8. Isn't "Disco Balls" a medical condition caused by dancing in too-tight Angel Flights?
  9. A Honduh color, right? Looks great. Wanna paint my S-10?
  10. The Apollo was re christened "Skylark", so it really spells "NOVAS"
  11. One of the things that I love about Canada is how all these wonderful cars come out of the woodwork when the weather is good. We were in the wilds of the Ontario "wine country" in 2009 and wound up at a 4 way stop with a 68 Beaumont SD 396 convertible. Seems like Ontario has been better for my car spotting, but it looks like BC is good too. I just didn't experience it during my visits.
  12. From what I remember, backed up by looking at Mustang vacuum schematics online: 1968 - 200, 289, 302 had Thermactor with MT, IMCO with AT. 390 and 428 had Thermactor regardless of transmission. 1969 - Thermactor remained on the 428, everything else was IMCO no matter which transmission. 1970 - 428 finally loses the Thermactor and gains the IMCO system, which explains your Cougar. I owned a 68 302 4V 4 speed from 1977 to 2001 and it had a Thermactor. Interesting noises when backing off of the throttle when cold.
  13. I haven't seen either one of them myself, but your link showed related items at the bottom of the page. The 62's engine didn't impress much. Your extra detail on the Elky looks good.
