  1. John, that is an interesting idea with the RTV. I will have to try it!
  2. A.K.A. April Fool's Day?
  3. If you are careful adding the trim, you can add a black vinyl top. Paint looks really nice in the photo.
  4. No no no no! The ones that went for big money are the FIRST EDITIONS. The ones on the way now are COPIES. The originals will be as coveted as AMT uni body pickups! The copies will be two for $10 at the swap meet.
  5. Expiration Date is a fun little indie black comedy about a 24 year old guy who believes that he will be killed by a milk truck on his 25th birthday as were his father and grandfather. It's silly and irreverent, but a lot of fun to see Charlie put his life in order because he knows that he is going to die. Spoiler alert: he doesn't die.
  6. Mailed a birthday present to the nephew in Orange County and some parts to a member in Kentucky on a Saturday morning. Both packages went USPS first class, and both were delivered on Monday.
  7. Last thing I bought was 1:1 parts from a dealership in California, so I expected sales tax.
  8. Put a post in "wanted". I am sure that someone here will send you a better set if you want to stay with chrome. Must be quite a few of these in parts boxes.
  9. Bill, you and I are the same age. In second grade, I would have sworn that my teacher was seven feet tall and 80 years old. I didn't stay in contact with her, but my parents did because she lived nearby. She attended my mom's memorial in 1999. I was surprised to see that she had shrunk to about 5' 5" and had just had her 80th birthday.
  10. So, spill the beans Pat. What did he get today? Curious about what someone his age would pick. I was 9 when the neighbor injured his back. He asked my dad if he could hire me to mow the lawn. Wages were set at $2.00, which was the cost of a 1/25 car at the time. This went on for several years, and each time MPC raised the price of a kit, I had to plead the case and raise my price. Finally wound up at $5.00 and I was mowing and edging three neighbor's yards to feed my model addiction. I hope that the little guy enjoys building his first of 13000 kits!
  11. Definitely like these. Would be in for some. Had a 1:1 68 County Sedan, so I will be anxiously awaiting the 68. Glad to have you here on the forum!
  12. Don, what flea market has that kind of stuff? Seems like none of the thrift stores and such have models around here. If they did, they would think the Corvette was really from 1957 and ask $100 for it.
  13. Picked up the yellow Airflyte this morning at ToysRUs. Not sure what will pull it. Wish I could have found the green one instead.
  14. Website has been down for some time. I just assumed that Jim closed up shop. You could try writing him. His name is Jim Adkins. jimnohio.com 2093 Lincoln Ave. Lakewood, OH 44107 Or if you are on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/jimnohio

    Plymouth GTX

Nice build of a car that knocked the socks off of my 10 year old feet when I saw my first 1:1. I had one in my stash, but gave it to a friend's son. I should pick up another one and build it!
  16. Bumpers on that kit remind me of the 1972 Volvo safety car. Wish we could get a new tool of all three of the two door Nomads. Nevertheless, you did a great job on this, shakiness and all. I am one of those freaks who prefers the 56 over the 55 and 57. Hope to see more of your builds! download.html
  17. It appears to be a 1958 365. As installed in the Cadillac, the heater hoses both come out of the driver's side of the water pump, and join metal tubes that run down the inner fender. As you mentioned, the Cadillac appears to have the heater core on the driver's side. I believe that the intake manifold on the early Cadillac V8s is "dry".
  18. So, I am building a 50th anniversary tribute build of the 49 Ford that my dad and I built together after my tonsils were yanked out. I am using the Cadillac engine with carbs, unlike the original build that had the blower. I would like to add heater hoses, but the 1:1 Cadillac engine has the fittings for the heater hoses on the driver's side, exiting the water pump (green circle area). Not sure how one would route heater hoses to the passenger side of the engine compartment (red circle). No room in the front to cross over, and the distributor is in the rear. Suggestions?
  19. Being a lifetime Californian, I am amazed at the prices you guys bought and sold cars for back in the day. That Sportsroof would have been worth $2k easily here in 1973 if it wasn't rusty. Spent a lot of time shopping for Mustangs with Dad around that time. Most already had crappy paint and a cracked dash pad.
  20. I have a Perry's Resin extended cab in my "to do" pile. It will be a replica of my 1:1 94 when I get around to building it.
  21. We call something similar "Canadian Bacon".
  22. What does the owner's manual say? I just looked at a maintenance schedule for a Pathfinder and it recommends changing the fluid every 20,000 miles.
  23. On the first morning of my first visit to Canada, I did have to Google "peameal bacon" to figure out what they were trying to feed me for breakfast.....
  24. Any / all of the Mayberry black and white Fords.
  25. The Revell '64 Impala should have a 4GC as its stock carburetor option.
