67 Eleanor transkit available?
Devilsnake98 replied to Devilsnake98's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Hey Greg, just got my coupe conversion done to one of the Eleanor bodies I got from you, it's in filler primer. I have all the pics of the conversion in the 64 1/2- 73 cbp thread. -
Well I supported a bad habit today. Went on evilbay and bought some cheap kits all going towards new projects. I first found a decal sheet for the graphics on the 2008 cobra jet mustang for $9. So then I picked up a combo deal that had an 08 bullitt mustang and an 07 gt500 for $21, and a 67 gt350 kit for $19 to use as a donor for an eleanor project. It was mustang day and I loved it.

It had been mentioned before, in regards to the new cobra jet super stocker. W-409 and dirk- I just found a set of the 2008 mustang cobra jet decals someone is printing on the evil bay. They look very nice, looks like all graphics are there, they were $9 for the sheet and I wasn't sure how many there was, so I picked them up, I will post pics when I get them, will be hoping to use the bullit kit as a body and interior donor, then the 07 gt500 as a chassis and engine donor, also picked these up for dirt cheap. Then to find the right wheel and tire combo to complete the cobra jet look.

Lets do a 1964 1/2-1973 Mustang CBP to go with the others!

Haha, nope I paid 19.95 and free shipping, that would have been pretty funny though. And yeah, I may have to take youre advice and go to harbor freight and try out a cheap airbrush on some bodies that are no good, then attempt a good paint job with the correct color to put on the eleanor coupe. -

Can't wait to see it under way Jonathan, I too just got the gt350 for a donor for my coupe on evilbay tonight. Got all my body work done on the coupe conversion, and is in filler primer. Now introducing the 1967 Mustang Eleanor coupe haha. With no block sanding yet, the conversion is almost undetectable. -

Thanks, I have all the seems covered in squadron white putty right now and am giving it some cure time. Then will be sanding my brains out to make it look seem less. Will update with pics once smooth and will cover in filler primer. -

Then a few with the roof glued in place, and with the hood, tire and wheel combo for a mock up. Does the eleanor coupe work? -

The 68 Cobra Jet turned out nice Dirk. I have some progress of my own. Actually got up the nerve to cut my 2 resin mustang bodies. Cleaned up all and sanded both the fastback body, and the coupe roof edges until they fit back together, making the eleanor coupe. The top is completely ca glued in place, and is ready for the bodywork to begin to make this look like it was cast this way. Here is pics of them seperate and the roof sat in place to get an idea if I made a mistake or not by cutting them apart. -
Looking good, the stance is great and the black wheels look pretty mean on it.
-
That coupe is looking awesome. And I also love the 99'ish gt wheels on the foxes, nice choice.

I love the grabber blue on the 2010's, but on this forum it seems to be the common color, so I'm kinda leaning towards black with either red or satin black stripes like they're offered with. And I hear ya with the air brush, I have paint but no air brush, I think it's my next investment.
-
Yeah for sure, i will be taking and posting pics of the 1:12 along the way, it's gonna be awhile though cause I have some others in front of it, youre gt500 is looking killer in grabber blue, also see one of you're Eleanor's is primed already, very sweet.
-
Are those stripes actually the kit decals? I've heard they have weird fitment issues and I'm curious cause I have the 1:12 version of the gt500.

I finally got my 67 mustang gt coupe body from Motor City Resin Casters today and it is very nice. This is a transkit that includes the body, turn signal gt hood, interior panels correct for the coupe, and the front valance. This is intended to have the AMT 67 mustang gt fastback as a direct donor kit. But being as I want to create a replica of my 1:1 project, this will be combined with a Greg Wann 67 gt500 eleanor body to make an eleanor coupe. It is a shame to cut up either of these bodies, but I have 2 other eleanor fastbacks i will be doing at some point, and I really want to see the coupe done. Here is the only progress I have so far, hopefully i can get away with only cutting the roof off of both at the same points, sanding to fit, and re-attaching. I will be getting up the nerve to start cutting in the next couple of days when I have time. Any other suggestions would be appriciated. -
Fox Chassis (Ford) community build anyone?

That's crazy a model could go through all that, but good luck and look forward to seeing it all prettied up in the future. -
Very clean, awesome work on the engine. I'm not a huge mopar fan but the 68-69 darts are sweet and this is a nice example.
-
I don't have any to share, I like my models shiny, but the 57 bel air and the 69 camaro are very realistic, would love to pull either of these out of the weeds.
-
You should get this into the 64 1/2-73 cpb thread, it would fit right in there and yeah welcome.

Yes martinfan, the Amt gt350 is a direct donor kit for the Eleanor's, have two myself, doing a movie car clone and the other is going to be turned into a eleanor coupe. Dirk, they come with the body, hood, wheels and outer rings, the headlights, and a tach. If you want it can include airbrush paint that is the correct pepper grey metallic and black metallic for the stripes. My posts on this thread of chassis and engine fabrication are for my movie clone. Oh yeah and pm Greg wann for more info if interested. -
That's sweet, I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I was gonna use the cobra coupe body and graft on the Saleen side skirts and use the front/ rear bumpers and hood from the Saleen. Keep it goin I would like to see how it turns out so I know what to shoot for.

My 429 now has a way for the air to come in, and to escape. In other words, got a set of headers made out of rosin core .062 solder, the crossover pipe and the up pipe for the single turbo. All just barely glued in place for mockup and to get a look. Also, I built an EFI intake manifold modeled after the Nelson Racing Engines Alien intake manifold. I used this pic for reference. But here's update pics on the headers, turbo setup, and the intake so far. -
What kit is that? Did it actually have an opening hood with full engine and transmission? Your R32 looks very sweet.
