Have an update on my 08 cobra jet. Just got most of the interior done, all painted except the interior tub. I tried to use different finishes of black to detail all of the interior. I added a rear seat delete, and still have to paint and add the monster tach to the dash, and build a 8 point roll bar. Got the engine most of the way painted and assembled, along with the headers, and have detail painted between the spokes and assembled my wheel and tire combo, just have to add the "goodyear" decals to the rear slicks. I will painting the chassis, suspension, and the interior tub when the weather permits.

That 427 engine kit is sweet, my Eleanor fastback has the Baldwin motion drag cobra 427 in it, haha dueling Eleanor's once more. Awesome choice. -
The stance on that thing with the wheel and tire combo is amazing, and just mean looking. Great paint job, even the red interior fits in with this one. Awesome job all the way around.

The blue looks pretty sweet on it, are you gonna do white stripes on it? Also, are those the gt500 wheels and tires you're gonna use? -

I'm not sure exactly what tires fit the Eleanor wheels, by my lhs has Pegasus wheel/ tire combos in stock, so I was gonna take an Eleanor wheel with me and compare and see what would work. -
Yeah the dash is a modded kit dash, the 3 gauge cluster is a resin piece, then sheet styrene used for the cover over the gauges and where the stereo used to be. I also have the monster tach with shift light for it as well.

Fox Chassis (Ford) community build anyone?

There's a sn95 thread just for those years of mustangs, it's been a while since anyone has posted on it, so it's a ways back. -
The rest of my pics for now.

Just like to throw in another Mustang project I've gotten into. We'll just say it started with this. 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet decal sheet I found on evilbay just brousing around. So I had to get a kit (in this case 2 kits) to start the project. The kits are the 08 Bullitt, and the 07 GT500. I will be using the body from the Bullitt, with the rear bumper from the GT500, rear 1/4 window vents from an old 65 2+2 kit, a boss 429 hood scoop, and will be modifying the front bumper. I have the rear bumper on, the vents in, the hood scoop on, and the front bumper mods started. Then have started on some of the parts unique to the cobra jet. The full length headers and dumps, the ford racing ignition coil covers on the valve covers, the stereo delete and gauge cluster on the top of the dash, and the wheel and tire combo. The rear tires are from an old nascar kit, and will be using the goodyear eagle decals on them as well.

I will agree, all of the fox saleens are my fav's too. As to the windshield banner, you may have to have this and the side graphics custom made. The only window banner I've seen in 24/ 25 scale is from the Saleen speedster kit, but it only reads "SALEEN", it's not the same as you're 88 and older saleens. -

After, I put down usually 4-5 coats of clear, so I have plenty of material that I can work with after it's cured, then I cut it with the sand paper then buff my brains out. -

I usually wet sand with 1200- 1500 grit paper, then use numerous products from meguiar's, starting with they're medium rubbing compound, then they're scratch and swirl remover, then finish with they're show car shine. Has turned out nothing but glass finishes for me. -

Finally got some sunshine, so I got a chance to clear coat my 93 Mustang Cobra. Its cleared with model masters clear top coat. I'm very happy with the finish, I will be waiting for it to cure then will cut and buff the clear. -

I got a chance to try out the pepper gray and the clear coat i bought with it from the local paint supply shop. This is on a useless body and quickly taped off to add the metallic black stipes. Now, this has duplicolor filler primer, the paint shop pepper gray, testors black metallic, then the paint shop clear coat. It only has 2 light coats of clear and has this glossy of a finish. There was no unwanted reactions between the different brands of paint, and I would recommend this method of getting the pepper gray, works very well and fast. -

Any metallic black should work. Either duplicolor, testors, tamiya, all those are already in a spray can. I'm gonna try either duplicolor or tamiya tomorrow and see if it works ok over the spray can pepper gray, I will post how it goes afterwards. -
I've done a few of mine.. 98 svt cobra mustang coupe black on black, 86 mustang lx hatchback- had to cheat it with an old svo kit so it's not exact, and a 71 Datsun 510 2 door, but added different wheels than my actual car had. Also have done a few for friends and family... My dads 65 Chevy II out of the 63 trumpeter kit, sbc 400/ th400, mustang II front suspension, ladder bar rear suspension, roll bar, torque thrust d's, a friends 92 3000gt vr4, mostly stock, and another friends 92 caprice ex- cop car, satin black blue interior, vortec 350 carb converted, 15x7 15x10 staggered Chevy rally wheels, loud dual exhaust.

Haha not to be a thorn in the side, the stripes are black metallic, I hope to tape these off and get them as close to the correct size as possible. I think I'm gonna attempt to use a model paint for this, either testors or tamiya. I'm gonna test shoot all this paint to make sure there is no unwanted reactions. -

Exactly, my local paint store can put the DuPont 44490 pepper gray metallic in a spray can. It is they're chroma base base coat, and will need to be clear coated. But is not cheap, a 16 oz can for $31. -

Thanks for the info on the paint whale, I'll go check that out at the auto parts store today. -
I'm not a front engine porsche fan what so ever, but that 928 with the 1/18 wheels make it look pretty sweet, very nice work on this one.

The almost wifey? Haha that's funny, anyway of you get it, do share how well it works. The only other thought I had, was to contact the local auto paint supply shop, and see if they would put custom colors in an aerosol can. I know my work does this for they're company color, so I'm gonna see Monday morning, I'll share how it goes. -
The how to on a coupe conversion would be cool. I did mine the expensive way, with a resin coupe transkit from motor city resin casters. It's very nice but you still need a donor kit to complete.

Jonathan- the closest color I've found in a spray can is model masters Plymouth bright platinum metallic, although it is way to bright compared to the actual pepper gray of the Eleanor. I have only looked at the lhs, not online yet. And thanks for the comments Greg, couldnt do it without you're awesome mustang body.
