The engine is a 429 from the Revell Torino Cobra, but for this build I'm calling it a 557ci stroked BBF, resin C6 auto trans and motorsport valve covers, scratch built intake manifold, headers, big single turbo and all plumbing (street front mount intercooler setup), smooth front inner fenders, a outlaw cowl hood (still not done), and a tube k member, but I will be cutting off the stock a arms that are there now and will build tube arms. I will be working on the front and rear suspension over the next few days to have it on 4 tires again, much meaner look its going to have I'm thinking. Here is some pics of the rest of the build.

This is a build I've had in the works for quite a while now. Started on the MPC 1983 Mustang GT with a Revell SN95 chassis and interior tub swap. Kept it as a stock suspension chassis with a big engine, a 9" rear, and some 275 drag radials, got to a point where I didn't like where it was heading, mostly the way the scratchbuilding on the interior was coming together, so in the closet it went. Finally pulled it back out and commenced on it. Decided to back half it to fit "31x 10.5x 15" slicks, so I cut off the rear of the chassis, built a new 2x4 rear frame section, added tubes throughout the chassis for strength, x member to attach the soon to be 4 link arms and driveline loop, and took a set of medium width Monogram slicks and sanded down the tread to achieve an actual 10.5 mm wide (10.5"). Plus, I just had to join all the fox Mustang drag car builds, they are actually what made me get this thing back out. Using tips and tricks I've seen from all of them, thanks for the inspiration. Anyway, here is some pics of where it was at before, wrong way facing sump and all. haha Under the knife it goes! And the new chassis work.

Sorry I don't have any updates. Haven't been working on 1/25 scale stuff lately, I'm trying to get my 1/1 scale project painted this summer, in between working and this I don't have too much time left. Thanks for the interest. -
Closest I've seen is in the revell 2007 gt500 kit. It looks very similar to the Eaton roots blower thats on the 03-04 cobra. You will have to change the throttle body elbow on the rear of the blower to point to the passenger side though.

Look at any of tyrones builds, they are amazing. He does a great job of plumbing the nitrous system. His latest are the mustang lx and a 68 camaro, both are nitrous cars. These should help. -
As promised, here is a few pics of the new rear wheel wells, and the wheel well moldings and all side emblems shaved. Have my mind set on the second set of wheels too, they are the big fuch's from Shucky. Still haven't decided on a color for the body or the wheels. Will be trying to make up my mind on this ASAP.
-
I have the rear wheel wells opened up using a 66 chevelle wheel well as a template, they match the style of the fronts pretty well. Also got rid of the front wheel well moldings, going for the smooth/ shaved look a little on this one. I will have pics when I get off work.

This thing is so sick, it's all came together so well. Nice work man. -
The putty is white squadron, I did too heavy of a first coat, so there was some gaps, but a couple more small applications here and there got it.

Like the title says, there will be a twist with this Revell 1965 Chevelle. Will be using some styling cues from a 66 Chevelle, mostly the rear window treatment, also known as a flying buttress. Ive always wanted to see what a 65 would look like with the flying buttress, so here we go. Also will be opening up the rear wheel wells to the size of a 66. Will be a pro touring theme to this one, can't decide if I want to try and make a c6 corvette chassis work, or just modify the chevelle suspension. I have a couple sets of wheel/ tires from member Shucky, they look great, maybe a little big for this car, but still look good. Also I cant decide on what wheel center to use, Im thinking the second one, it looks similar to the original Z-16 wheel. Here is where im at so far. I sectioned the back of the roof and rear window area instead of the whole roof, and blended the 65 roof body line into the buttress of the 66 part.

Not too much of an update, been distracted with my 1:1 project lately. Had to open the firewall and front of the floor so the engine will go back, the accessories would not fit. Made a new front x member, started to make motor mounts, just not done yet. Also will be using a resin liberty style transmission as a base to scratch build the nv5600 6 speed manual, will have to modify or replace the x members for the transmission and transfercase. -

Duplicolor has one that is close, It's called bright platinum metallic, I used it for an Eleanor gt500 build, it's real color name is pepper gray metallic. Very similar to the color in the pic. -

Not really any updates worth showing. I'm working on making the cummins fit at the moment, been kind of a pain. I'll get some pics up in the next day or so. -
Looks awesome, gotta love the 93 cobra. Especially with that color combo, nice job.
-
I was gonna post to this and ask if the project is still going. It's such a cool setup, can't wait to see more.
-
Formula- the decals won't be going on. They are too transparent to use over this dark of color. There should be plenty of engine shots in the wip both with the body on and off.

Thanks again for the compliments. Here is the complete wip. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=81446&page=1

Bandit Resins
Devilsnake98 replied to Michael in Illinois's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I've emailed bandit resins a couple times over the last few weeks to order some parts, with no response. Does anyone know if bandit is still up and running? -

Finally have a small update. Got all of the resin parts I ordered for this project. 2 sets of tires, wheels, front and rear axles, fuel filler doors, and a Cummins 12v engine. The black tires are 43" boggers, the white ones are 49" iroks, I wasn't sure on which to use when I ordered them. So the mock up pics have really helped that, I think the 49's are too big, what do you all think? Also have a little body work done. Just applied filler to the bed sides, and removed the rocker panel moldings from the bed sides and the cab, had to scribe the lower door seams after removing the rocker moldings. I will be painting the truck with Testors one coat De Ja Blue. The last pic is a quick test shot of the color. Anyway here is some pics. -
Thanks for all the kind words. It was a different style build for me and I liked it a lot. Big nicky- I have the re-release of the amt 78 f350 on my plate now. I haven't done much on it yet. I have a thread for it in the truck section of on the workbench.

I can finally call this thing done. Has taken a while, but I work on models to have fun, not to do it cause I feel I need to. Anyway here is the pics. Thanks again for looking.
-
Finally can call this thing done! I'll give a teaser pic but will be posting all the others under glass. Thanks all for the tips and tricks I've learned and used on this project. This is the most detailing I've ever done. Thanks again for looking.

I've been doing some body work here and there. Nothing really to show though. I've been working on my 1:1 project lately.
