  1. got some more progress on the fairlane. got the interior completely painted and assembled. made "aluminum" door panels with mount screws. flocked the floor, installed the seats and seat belts from detail master (this is the 1st set ive ever done). then installed the dash and that is a wrap on the interior.
  2. Thanks all for the kind words. I bought the fireball decals from ebay, just was looking through and found those and bought em. there was no warning on how transparent they were or that they should only be used on light colors. The faux brake line clamps were just a tiny piece of BMF folded over the line, the CA glued in place also holding the line in place on the frame. Then where the vinyl part of the insulated clamp would be around the line is just detail painted.
  3. also got some of the interior pieces painted and waiting for more nice weather to continue. built a roll cage and painted it. Also waiting for nice weater to bury the body in clear, then will cut and rub for an awesome shine.
  4. Finally got pics to load, anyway, the decals I wanted to use are too transparent and I dont like the look of them this way, so I wont be using them. It will be just 1 solid color. Got the foil work done on the window frames too.
  5. Im working on uploading pics now, something is going on with this website I think. Don't know whats going on, adding pics the way I have for a long time. I guess I'll try tomorrow.
  6. Looks like this thread has been moved, ok. Anyway, finally got enough progress worth posting. Got the BMF on the window frames, applied one of the "passin gas" logos on the door, and needless to say, I will not be using them. They are completely transparent and do not stand out against the green paint at all.
  7. All looks good, except the shifter is backwords lol.
  8. This thing is so sick in all aspects, cant wait to see it all done.
  9. Wow that looks amazing. All the effort was definitely worth it. Very nice. Cant wait to get my corrected bodies from greg. Got a question, how did you glue in the 1/4 windows without the black on the windows themselves getting smeared on the back by the glue?
  10. Yeah that helps a lot thanks.
  11. Awesome builds, couple questions. How did you color tint youre windows? Can you post a close up pic of your 4 injector plumbing on the blown hemi? Thanks.
  12. Got the disc brakes on and the rubber hoses to the calipers installed. Weathered the tire tread and installed the wheels and tires. Had to put the chassis on the body for a mock up in color, its getting there. Also working on the engine now, will be a couple weeks until the engine is done because im waiting on some resin fittings to plumb it. Anyway heres a few pics.
  13. Im using the slot mag wheels and tires that came with the willys race car I used as a donor. Im gonna leave them chrome because they have the nicest chrome ive seen in any kit ive ever bought. reference the opening post for pics of the wheels.
  14. Thanks for the kind words, im gonna try the decals in the next day or 2 when I get a chance. if they dont work then ill have to come up with a plan b, or run it without any.
  15. Been a bit but got some progress on my fairlane. Got the body in the emerald metallic basecoat, made subframe connectors, front bump stops, leaf spring shackles front and rear, had to make a drag link, added a steering box, painted all the chassis components and glued in place, started to plumb in a brake system. Will be adding BMF to the body and adding the decals before clearing the body. Last will be working on the interior, I only have the dash done. Need to make "aluminum" door panels, add in 66 mustang seats I'm going to use, and build a roll bar/ cage and paint it all.
  16. Automotive touchup is a place where you can get the color you want by year, make and model. Its listed as bright calypso metallic on theyre site. You can get it in different size bottles or in a ratlle can as a base coat. http://www.automotivetouchup.com/touch-up-paint/ford/1993/mustang/
  17. Im hoping the green in the decals is different enough from the paint color it will still stand out. If not I will have to look for another set of decals. I will just have to wing it I guess.
  18. able to get duplicolor filler primer in the body after removing the chrome down the sides. had to apply putty in this area a couple times before primer. gonna block sand the body in a couple days with 600-800 grit. looks very plain right now without the side trim but that's the look im going for for this build. again thanks for looking.
  19. almost forgot, got decals in the mail a few days ago. will give the fairlane some true old school gasser character. Couldnt help but laugh at the name so I had to get these.
  20. Got a few more things done on my 64 fairlane. mocked the motor in and cut a hole in the hood, smoothed out the engine bay and added roll cage tubes from the firewall to the frame. Also put in some subframe connectors, added rear mounted shackles to the front and rear leaf springs, added upper shock mounts for the front shocks, added front bumpstops, added a steering box, and got rid of the gas tank and filled the hole with styrene, still need to sand and finish everything but its coming together. almost ready to start painting pieces. will be primering the body tomorrow and will post pics after. thanks
  21. Thanks again for all the kindness, this was also my 1st time doing bmf to all the trim. I just tried a little before on some scrap pieces then went for it on this once it was painted. Didnt come out too bad in my eyes.
  22. Thanks all for the kind words, kinda sucks im giving it away.
  23. What do you use to tint the windows in color?
  24. Just finished this one up today, built it for a friend. Revell 69 Camaro Z-28. Actually have had the kit forever but never painted it for some reason. My friend had mentioned he wants to build a real 69 Camaro in bright red, so figured why not get it done. Its Tamiya Bright Red with U-POL clear, cut and rubbed, all box stock except a Comp. resins SS orniment hood, tires and wheels from my stash, 427 big block from a Yenko kit, traction bars, and plug wires. Thanks
  25. 1. 1994-2001 dodge ram 3/4- 1 ton, any cab layout, diesel only, preferably 4x4 (this is my daily) 2. 1985-86 mustang, any model either coupe or hatch 3. 2003-04 mustang cobra, preferably coupe, but either coupe or convertible would be sweet 4. 1968-72 datsun 521 pickup, preferably 1970-72 so it uses the L16 1.6L engine, not the J13 1.3L 5. 1955 ford customline 2 dr, much smoother looking than the over-chromed crown victoria
