yeah just fyi, the engine is modeled after the non turbo 2.0L engine, but is far from it. thats why the valve cover has the cutouts in it. supposedly for the spark plugs, but the kit is missing half of it. also as you stated the exhaust should come out the front of the engine, and it should on non and turbo engines, making that turbo that comes in the kit actually work. here is a pic of a non turbo engine and what it should be.

The "gears" style miata shown above was pretty sweet, a built ford 351w and a 5 speed trans if i remember correctly. along with the sort of styling of it was well, mada the lillte miata actually pretty killer, in my eyes anyway. i'd try to replicate something like that.

I'd also like to know how you created the trunk area, especially with the Shelby style spoiler and 1/4 panel extensions. Do you have any pics of the build before primer? -
Fox Chassis (Ford) community build anyone?
Devilsnake98 replied to whale392's topic in Community Builds
Just a small update on the 83 gt, have the 429 all mounted in with motor mounts, cut off and built inner fenders fron the strut towers forward, to eliminate the battery and all washer bottles, have the front k member all done, have added in pass through floor subframe connectors, resized the rear section of the driveline tunnel to clear the new rear end, I have the 9" narrowed and all new tubular control arms made, added an aeromotive style sump to the gas tank, I have header flanges cut out and in place on the heads, and made a race style 7 quart oil pan. Next is actually making the headers for the single turbo, and all piping, which is gonna be fun, as you can see in the engine bay shot, how much room there isn't, and thats with the engine up as far as it can go. Thanks -

I'd like show my eleanor coupe project but still waiting on the coupe to ship. Not good. -
2nd is the AMT Chevy S10 Extreme. I did a 98 Corvette LS1 engine swap, painted 2 tone Black and Bright yellow buried in clear coat, lowered the stance, added the Corvette wheels, tires, seats, and steering wheel. Also put a fuel cell in the bed, moved the battery to the bed, and made a tonneu cover. I've had this built for a while but it needed a home, thanks for looking.

I've got a couple little trucks that would belong here that I'd like to share. 1st, I just built this one over the holidays for something quick to pass the time. Hasegowa Toyota Hilux, it's completely OOB and painted Testors Ford Grabber Blue.

Just a few more, pieces just sitting in place to get a look at what it could/ will be. The turbo is scratchbuilt and is nowhere near done. -

Got a new project thought i'd share. It's the 1983 mustang gt made by MPC, produced also in 1983. Found this online. Wanted to make a weekend warrior drag car, so it goes under the knife. Also in the original box. Gonna be using the Revell 1970 Torino Cobra as a running gear donor, using the 429 cobra jet engine and the 9" rear axle. Then picked up a bunch of resin hot rod/ drag parts from MAD that will be going into this as well, motorsport valve covers, c6 auto transmission, b&m shifter, msd goodies, wheels and rear drag radials. Anyway, here is what i have so far. I'm using the Saleen Speedster sn95 chassis and interior floor and inner front fenders cut to fit the body. Have the rear inner fenders mini tubbed to get the drag radials in. I have built a tubular style front k member to alow as mush room as poosible for the 429. Also I'm thinking of doing a large single turbo setup. -
Madmodeling.com has numerous drag wheels to choose from. Also scalemodelingbychris.com has several as well.
-
Dom, do you make the turbos as well? If so would you be putting any on the market?
-
The mad ones are a 275/60-15 size, but just two grooves in the tread similar to the Hoosier drag radials. They're pretty nice, I'm putting them on the rear of a 83 mustang gt weekend warrior.

I finally can update some progress on my 67 eleanor, just got a new computer. Anyways, have the chassis about wrapped up in all mods, including installing the 32 phantom vicki front mustang 2/ ifs suspension and rack and pinion steering unit with scratchbuilt x member, putting the baldwin motion drag cobra's 427 fe engine in with rear sump oil pan, and scratchbuilding headers with .062 solder. Will be doing a finish on all cleaning of all custom pieces then paint and start of assembly. -
Big block ford engine
Devilsnake98 replied to Devilsnake98's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the info, gonna pick up the Torino kit cause it's 1:25, found 1 on eBay. -
Anyone know where I can find a donor kit that has a big block ford engine (429-460)? I've heard the early 1990's ford f350 or certain years of Torino. I'd like a standard big block not a boss, ive got a # of those.

Unless he's changed his mind, shucky is not casting right now, I tried to get some about a month ago.

67 Eleanor transkit available?
Devilsnake98 replied to Devilsnake98's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Sorry to say Greg, but 1 of the eleanor's is going under the knife haha. In addition to the eleanor's I got from you, I ordered a 67 coupe from jeff Ballard and will be making a 67 Eleanor coupe, modeled after my own 1:1 long term project. Just waiting on the coupe to come in then will be starting on that, that'll be 3 mustangs at once. Will update pics when I fix or replace my computer. -

I just got 2 of greg's kits also and they are nice, very little cleanup, well worth it. -
How can I reshape a resin body? Just the front bumper/ grill/ pass side fender are sagging just a bit and causing havoc with the hood fitment. I'd post pics but my comp is down right now. Any help would be great, thanks.

Mustangs are my favorite car, period, new and old. Youre collection is awesome. Where did the fox notchback come from?

Yeah weather is killing my progress too, and I don't have a shed to retreat to. 40 degree highs just aren't cutting it, so my 67 Eleanor and a fox body cobra are both suffering waiting for paint. -
