Ive done that same radio trick on my own 93 cobra kit, I just took a little standard green paint on the end of a sharp toothpick and carefully let the paint fill that void where the display is, worked everytime on tiny detail painting like this.

Very true, they have the capri flared fender with the mustang style fender opening flares. Still would like a model of one eventually.
-
I love the 5.0 capris, been looking for a model kit for a while and have had no luck. Looks like your foxbody collection is pretty big, very cool.
-
Wheels are from the revell 08 mustang bullitt kit, the rears have a lip added for depth.

Mercury Capri SVT (A Mustang of a different sort)
Devilsnake98 replied to Abell82's topic in WIP: Model Cars
The ones im referring to is from rdsxfan2, theres one with a cowl hood, saleen wing and drag lite wheels, then theres an outlaw version. Thanks for all the help, still will prob pass, its 1/24 scale so you have to use the 93 cobra kit as a donor and im not a huge fan of that kit detail wise. He also does a 1/24 scale coupe as well. -

Ah ok, glad to hear some feedback on these cause I didnt really wanna spend the asking price and totally disappointed and possibly not build it. -

Where did you get this body? Ive seen a couple that are being sold on ebay and the surface looks to have a very course finish and I dont think I wanna sand my brains out just to have a smooth body. -
got a little more done, got the tires/ wheels mocked up and the suspension lowered to where I like it. had to slightly narrow the rear axle to accommodate the wide rear tires and the disc brakes. used the brembo front brakes and rear brakes from the 07 gt500 kit. also got the wheels and tires painted, and made a lip for the rear wheels and painted with duplicolor chrome to simulate polished aluminum. here is a pic I found that im gonna build this car around. so far not to bad in my eyes.

Maybe freakshow, I looked at buying a 91 coupe that had this swap and it had the stock hood and equal length shorty headers.
-
Thanks all, if I lower the motor down any further, it puts the cyl heads to close to the frame rails and headers will not fit. Gonna be close enough custom building long tube headers as is.

Yes another 90 lx mustang build. I wanna just build what I would want to be a nice powerful street car. Nothing over the top, not a crazy outlaw drag car [those are sweet though]. So I got a resin cowl hood from lex's scale modeling, used the 18" 5 spoke wheels from the 08 bullitt kit, and the 4.6 dohc cobra motor from the phantom vicky kit. The wheels and disc brakes will go onto this kit with ease. Only mods I have to do here is add a lip to the rear wheels to get the staggered look and for the wider rear tires. Only minor clearancing of the trans tunnel was required to clear the bigger bellhousing of the 4.6. Lucky I got the cowl hood cause the top of the intake plenum is almost touching.

Fox Chassis (Ford) community build anyone?
Devilsnake98 replied to whale392's topic in Community Builds
And lastly some early pics of my newest project, of course the Revell LX coupe. Havent done much yet, just started cleaning up the body- got rid of the door locks and the 5.0 emblems, and got a resin cowl hood from Lex's scale models, fitted it and primed it. Thinking of using the 18" bullitt 5 spoke wheels from the 08 bullitt kit. The front tires are from the 93 cobra kit, the rears are from the fast and furious supra kit, gotta add a strip of styrene to create a larger rear lip to the rear wheels. -

Also have some small updates on my MPC 83 gt turbo 275 drag car, got the motor painted, built and plumbed. just started to build an outlaw cowl hood for it, the hole in the driver side of the bumper is where the exhaust will exit, have most of the chassis painted but not assembled. All parts that are on are just sitting in place for mock up pics. -

Been away for a while but have been working on models here and there, got my Revell 93 cobra all wrapped up and has been on the shelf for a while, that's why its not so shiny right now. -
Its taking shape and looking cool. Ps, I like the r34 in the background too, one of my fav non- American cars ever.
-
That's a bummer Jonathan, but I bet you'll still make the kit ones look cool on it, any updates on you're body kit? Just curious.
-
Just got the rest of the chassis painted and assembled on my 08 cobra jet, everyhting minus wheels and tires.
-
Actually got some decent weather here in Oregon, so I got a ways on my 08 cobra jet. Got all of the interior painted, detailed, built a 8 point roll cage, and assembled. FYI, this was my 1st time flocking, and OMG what a difference it makes. All thats left on the interior tub is detailing the engine bay. Also got the chassis painted, also painted all the details, and got the cj engine and full length headers installed. Here are some pics.

Lets do a 1964 1/2-1973 Mustang CBP to go with the others!

I've always basecoated, tape off and paint the stripes, remove all the tape, bury it all in clear coat, then cut and buff if need be, this has always done me well. Works well with stripes and 2 tone schemes. -

I'm sure exactly how wide the stripes are, maybe compare to the gt350 kit decals and use different thicknesses of masking tape until you have them layer out, that's all I was going to do anyway. -

The mm bright platinum looks better on yours than my test spray turned out, thought it was completely different, but I think it looks good. Are you still gonna do the black stripes? Can't wait to see it shiny. -

That is a very good point on cost on building a modded 4 banger compared to the 5 liter. Also another good point is, pulling up next to a hot ricer, revving at them with the sound of you're 4 banger, them laughing at you, and then you launch and they see nothing but you're taillights and one big shiny exhaust tip, haha awesome idea for a street sweeper. -

Very nice job, I love NRE products and cars, absolutely crazy stuff, so awesome. But one thing, where are the turbos on you're replica? -
Haha Eleanor round 2. That is a cool idea, interested to see the body work involved with it. If you end up not using the front bumper from that gt-h kit, maybe gimme a holler, that is the bumper I need for my cobra jet, I'm trying to re-create it and it's looking kind of goofy so far.
