The outage just shows us how much we all enjoy this forum.
I am with you Dr. Cranky. If help is needed to donate I would. Maybe that is all he needs to do is setup a donation account.
I was talking to Gregg a couple of weeks ago about getting the magazine in a digital format. I have subsribed to other mags this way and really enjoy having them available on my notebook and iPad. I know Gregg is looking into this and hopefully this will increase the
subsriptions and make things a little easier for him in the long run.
I wish you all the best with your surgery Kevin. Remember the doctors are performing these operations everyday. With the technology they have at hand now they can work with precision.
I know it is tough not to worry when you are faced with such a serious situation.
Your faith in the doctors and god will get you through.
We'll all be here for you when you are feeling better.
Thanks Fred,
I found the hood on Craigslist for $40. Just make sure it has a fan where the motor is not in the airflow. I would suspect that most range hoods are designed in such away to avoid grease fires.
I may shorten the booth a little. It works well but as you mention it is huge.
I think they made some changes to the new version to make it easier to use. Like most people I switched back to the old version a couple of months ago after trying the new version. I felt lost in the new version.
I switched over to the new one again today but I do find it easier to use now.
I'm not sure that they all have squirrel cage fans but the one I have has them.
Here is a shot showing the motor in between the 2 squirrel cage fans.
This is the finished paint booth. It works very well. I live in an apartment and this setup has got rid of all of the complaints of fumes in the house.
I also used additional filters I cut out from furnace filter.
Looks like I am in good company here. I thought it was just me that is falling apart but now I see I am not alone. Started with me about 4 years ago when playing ice hockey I was no longer recovering very quickly from an injury. Every part of me hurt from my feet to the top of my head. My back would get so stiff I could hardly walk for a day or two after playing the game.
Finally I decided that it was time to let that part of my life go before I kill myself. I am now 47 and I have to find something to keep me active. Watching hockey doesn't help me to stay slim. The belly is getting a little bigger everyday.
Another option is to find a range hood for your exhaust fan. I was lucky to find a brand new suitable range hood with dual squirrel cage motors on craigslist for $40.
Here are a couple of shots before i built it into a box.
This has worked very well for me.
I buy a kit with the intentions of building it then I see another kit and buy it with the same intention. Repeat several hundred time and now I have a huge stash of kits.
I also start to many projects and have a hard time finishing one.
Thanks Kenny, I'll have to look for that the next time I am in Michaels. Do you think it may be to big for 1/25th?
Truely though, you are a master builder. I was looking at your Camaro and it is equally as nice.
