  1. Thank you. An Alloway car was the inspiration. The flamejob was an experiment, which left me with a lot to be desired.

    Sweet Victoria

So, Last night I managed to spray some color. It is a Tamiya TS-92 Metallic orange. Altho it is a beautiful color, I am not happy with it. I was excited about using it and thought it would be perfect for my project, but once on the car, I realized it is not what I was looking for. Don't get me wrong. It is a great color with great coverage and consistency. I just feel like it gives the body a somewhat vintage feel and I am after a lot more modern look. I need more "POP". So I am repainting it with something with a little more WOW-factor. Sweet Victoria needs something more "bling". Besides, the paint showed some areas that need to be addressed, so now that would be done before the new color.
  3. I always liked the Smoothster. Both the real car and the model of it. Altho I have bought the kit countless times and used parts of it, I have never actually built a Smoothster. It is definitely on my list.
  4. Looks really good. Just a heads up, the roadster body you are using has issues sitting on the fenders. Ii creates a gap around the rear fenders and the body. I found out the hard way on a build that as very similar to yours, but with a different flavor. I used the same body and fenders with the same cowl and windshield grafted on.

    32 ford

Nice progress. The brakes look really good, assuming you are going after more traditional look. Nice to see more and more '32 projects popping up.
  6. Totally my type of build. Looks outstanding and I really like the asymmetrical louvers and the subtle way the paint underlines it. Great choice ow wheels and drivetrain too. Where did that engine and intake come from?
  7. Really impressive paint job on both models. The choice of colors is also fantastic.

    Yes, that is correct.

Larry, Chris and Bernard, thank you guys. I did just a little more on the Victoria's frame, as my kid had a hockey tournament the whole weekend and I did not get much bench time. Made just a couple reinforcements to the rear of the frame at some key points. Where the e-brakes will attach to the new crossbar and where the rear shocks will mount. And a quick mock up of what the rear end will look like. I still need to need to make mounting plates for the rods that are inboard and drill mounting holes for the upper outboard rods. I hope to do this tomorrow, sand, prime and maybe even lay some color finally. Thanks for looking and stay tuned.

I'm always happy to see another Deuce project on the forums.
  11. Very nice. I like pretty much everything about it, except perhaps the front wheels, but to each their own. The Phantom Vicky is a very good source for a whole bunch of cool parts. I've used the cowl/windshield transplant on a few projects.
  12. Thank you. I really want a V12 LS3 engine with a similar intake to yours that he offers, but it’s only in 1:24. No 1:25.
  13. I am so glad someone posted one of these engine builds on here. I was looking at these stuff, but was hesitant ordering, because of unknown (to me) quality.
  14. Looking outstanding so far. After decals and 2K clear it will be killer.

OMG!!! It is! And the funny thing is that I am painting it Tamiya orange metallic.

    DELIVERY DEUCE

Thank you Craig. I just did.
  18. This would be cool. And I don’t think that Tom Taylor’s vert is a bad starting point. All you need is a Revell ‘32 Ford sedan kit, that you can graft the louvers from. It will also supply you with a much nicer and more realistic suspension for your project and a choice of two very nice engines. If you find a set of wheels and tires from the original Revell ‘32 Roadster, you’ll end up with the rake of the car on your picture too.
  19. Very nice model. Beautiful paint. I just sprayed a model with the same color, but it’s nowhere near finished.

Thank you Larry. I tried to google that but with no results. Can you upload a picture? I am curious. Thank you Tom. I have done some more work on the frame, but did not take any pictures. I am doing four or five projects in the same time and it's hard to keep track. The Vicky is the only one that still needs paint and that frame is what is holding me back. Thank you Rusty. Tight squeeze fit is never a bad thing. LOL

    DELIVERY DEUCE

Thank you for the fast reply, but they are not the same. The rears in the roadster are much bigger diameter. As far as I know, it's the only kit these tires came in. I already used a set on my Family Deuce, a set on the T-Touring and I had a third set , from which I only got the rears for the Delivery Deuce, but went for a little more profile with the fronts to suit the character of the build better. I am sure I have some more in some box somewhere, but we were supposed to move and I packed most of my models. But thanks again for the offer.
  22. Thank you both Alan and Claude. The engine was next on my to do list. Started with some Photoetched nuts and bolt details. The carb was plumbed with the help from some turned aluminum fittings and some Pro-Tech braided wire. After the ignition coil was installed, came time for the upper radiator hose. Aluminum fittings again, but the braided line is from Detail Master. I thought I don't have any of Pro-Tech's line, but after I installed this I found my Pro-Tech second stash. Oh well..... Next, the throttle linkage was made, for which I had to first make some return springs from super thin wire, which I pulled from the core of the wire I used for my spark plug boots. And on the engine, where you can also see the breather I scratchbuilt. The other side of the carb. Air filter and bottom radiator hose connected. And the engine is officially in the chassis with the plumbing connected. You can kind of see that every bolt head on the radiator is represented by a photoetched part. I forgot to take pictures while I was doing them. Before the engine compartment is done, I still need to install the starter, oil filter, belts with accessories, headers and the radiator cap. At hat point, the model would have over 65 photoetched and 20 machined aluminum pieces and counting. And the original idea was a simple build.......LOL Thanks for looking and stay tuned.

    DELIVERY DEUCE

Hi guys. I have a favor to ask. I dropped one of the rear tires for this delivery Deuce and my dog ended its life. I was using the rears from the original Revell '32 Roadster. Does anyone have a spare tire like that I can use? TIA
  24. Sory to say, but there is no such thing as a Ferrari 459 Spider Scuderia. There is a 430 Scuderia There is a Scuderia 16M (the Spider version of the 430 Scud) There is a 458 Speciale and then the open top would be Speciale A (for Apperta=open). the car on the picture is just a 458 Spider with a stripe. Maisto purchased Bburago and the Ferrari contract with them. So they are the same thing packaged differently for different markets. Some of their 1:24 offerings are an outstanding value.
  25. Fantastic Street Rod! I love the color combo! And just the right amount of chrome.
