  1. oops sorry I honestly didn't read dixie because I that was about the general lee or something. I would of put this there if I'd known
  2. I'm sorry but this is sad.
  3. Nice paint your skills make the new camaro even look good
  4. so for christmas the soon to be wife got the boy two kittens. Oh yippie skippy I'm not a cat person me and cats have had a pact for as long as I can remember. I hate them they hate but we leave each other alone. Of the two kittens one of them didn't get the memo of our pact. I find her in my shoes in my chairs and under my feet. Blah. It started if she was in my spot I pick her up and set her on the floor. Which she would promptly jump up on my lap. I tolerated her. Then well darn it as jacqui says she is the new love of my life.
  5. So I was going through the video store (yes there are still some around) I grabbed a movie called "hit and run" simply because it had a 67 lincoln connitinetal on the cover. I was pleasently surprised by the movie for a couple reasons. One reason was the cars. There was eye candy in a lot of the scenes even in background shots. The chase scenes were done pretty well and there are a few of them. The number one reason I feel this movie is worth mentioning is the fact that no classics were injured or harmed in anyway during the making of this film. That is not normal for a car chase movie and I applaud the makers for sparing fine automobiles!!!
  6. oh thank you for that you said what was on my mind
  7. not sure would my 51 dodge be a sleeper? There are no markings to tell you I have a 392 hemi under the hood?
  8. It's sad because this last summer my mothers grill was stolen in broad daylight and the neighbor got the license plate number. She filed a police report and nothing ever happened to those folks so I'm not holding my breath
  9. Well I got a call from the folks that store my cars they have video of the guys/kids who did it and they have a pretty good guess who did it. I don't know what will happen but it looks like someone will be punished hopefully
  10. Wow I got 100% I surprised myself. I guessed when it got to the orphan cars like the willy's henry j and such. But pretty proud for being a younger guy. I thank my uncle who has a lot of those sitting in his garage/warehouse.
  11. As marven the martian would say "oh it makes me so very angry"
  12. I get a call from the place I store my cars for the winter. Telling me I need to come in because they had a break in. well I knew it couldn't be good. I show up and my heart sank. I guess since they couldn't steal anything because no batteries and fuel shut offs they decided to smash the windows out of the 51 dodge and steal the ram off the hood. They left my camaro pretty much alone except for stealing the radio. Why do people have to trash things? I got to think it was just kids/teenagers because I wouldn't think adults would do something like that. If I can say anything good it's just flat glass so it won't be hard to replace.
  13. reminds me of an uncle of mine who tells people that he's been happily married for a year and follows that with" out of 26 years married we at least got one right"
  14. I didn't read all the pages so if this is copied I'm sorry. Two that get me are. Blowed "the wind came up and blowed the trees over. I hate when people take food out to unthaw. Thawing is what your doing. So unthawing would be to freeze it right?
  15. I love the fact I see so many 20+ year marriages it makes me hopeful for us. I don't like the fact you think I won't be around the forum or model building. Her son (ny soon to be stepson) is really into snap kits and we are going to build together got him his first kit and for christmas he got a #2 easy monogram 85 Camaro. Going to teach him how to spray paint
  16. Wouldn't work here in MN. That's not heavy enough for the big deep snow we get.
  17. Thank you all after five years I figured it was time
  18. Some of you know that I had planned to ask for my gf's hand in marriage on christmas. Things went just as planned. Christmas eve after the little ones went to bed and santa had come and gone. We laid down for a long winters nap. Ha ha the kids were up at 4:30 & playing with their new kittens (which I'm not thrilled about I'm a dog person) anyway we got surprise in the fact that her 15 ur old daughter was able to fly up from TX for christmas. Once all the gifts were open I went out grabbed the ring from my truck then got on one knee and popped the question and my knees. Tears were shed and a yes was said! We all had a very merry christmas!! Hope all you had a wonderful holiday also!
  19. Well after five years of dating I think it is time for me to cowboy up and marry her Well after five years of dating I think it is time for me to cowboy up and marry her
  20. Ok I guess I should of explained the discipline area a bit more he is a well behaved 8 year old. She does her job of parenting very well. Beau's father died of brain cancer when he was I believe 10 months old. I have known beau since birth. Her and I have been dating seven years now and I'm going to propose on chirstmas eve. The boy knows about his father and what a good guy he was. Beau one day just started calling me dad and at first I was very uncomfortable with it being his dad was a friend. I sat down and talked with him about the fact I didn't think I should be called dad but he continued anyway. Then one day his mother pointed out I was the only male figure in his life. Anyway back to the main point which all of that is tied together with the fact it's already been discussed that I'm going to adopt him once her and I are married. So that is how she think I should start taking up I a disciplinarian role more so then I am. Don't get me wrong she is always going to be the main enforcer. first off everyone had good advice. This is how we decided to handle it. He spend a lot of time at grandma and grandpas house and they spoil him by giving him money for chores he does and lets just say guys in the teamsters and unions don't paid as well as this kid. So first he is going shopping with me to get a new breaker bar which he has to pay for with his money so he will feel the hurt of tool cost. Granted I'm not making him buy me another snap-on. Also he hasn't noticed just yet but two of his favorite toys are in my trunk. When he asks about them I'm going to tell him I wanted to play with them and lost em'. I know that would've gotten my attention at his age. I got smarter also because I left my tool box open with this grand idea he could use them anytime he wants for his skateboards and bikes. Now there is a locked tool box instead of being opened. if he wants a tool he has to come to me first and ask. Then we fill out the checkout list that I made and he can't get another tool only until the one that is checked out is returned. I'm pretty proud of this idea. I know it's a heck of a lot better then the way I used to get the tar knocked out of me with the belt, spoon or whatever object was within arms reach lol.
  21. Last weekend I started moving into my gf's house and I started with the important stuff my tools well I should of noticed there was going to be a problem when I caught my soon to be step son using my snap-on breaker bar as a hammer. I was calm and told him that each tool has a job it's used for and that is it. " If you have to pound something in use a hammer because that's what a hammer is for." The next morning we all woke up to over a foot of snow. Beau was very excited and disappeared for hours he was digging a fort with his friends. I didn't find out until yesterday when I had to replace a ball joint on our lesabre; I noticed that when Beau went to build the snow fort he grabbed my hammer and my snap-on 20" breaker bar. That in it's self doesn't bother me. What does bother me is the fact that #1. He didn't ask if he could use my tools and #2. when he finished playing he left both tools outside in the snow. To make matters worse is the fact that in between the time he took them and when I discovered they were missing the snow plow came through the streets and buried them. If I knew where the tools are I'd make him dig them out but the plow could of pushed them anywhere. It's funny how when I did the same thing to my dad and older brother's tools when I was Beau's age I never understood why they got upset. I'm looking for some advice from ya'll this will be my first time for putting on the parent hat. I don't know first off how I should go about disciplining him. (his mom told me I should start taking on that responsibility) I was also wondering if you guys had ideas on how I can teach him respect for tools and how important it is to take care of them?
  22. Welcome to the forum first off. Thank you for the info I love getting info on cars the more details the better. I love the eye candy. I love the fifty coupe it reminds me of my uncles 49 I used to ride in. I'll be watching for your on the workbench. You've come to the right place if you have any questions the guys/gals on here know thier stuff and are always willing to offer advice or opinions on how to accomplish whatever you ask. I am blown away with how much knowledge they all have and you couldn't ask for a nicer bunch of folks. Remember I'm pulling for ya and we are all in this together
  23. It keeps telling me to press any key to continue. I've looked everywhere and I can't find the any key
