  1. But the 4.3l is the 90° v6 which is a whole different animal then the 60° degree
  2. I've always used brake fluid in my experence you can just look at the paint the wrong way when you have a bottle in your hand and the paint will just peel off
  3. after some research the fiero would be the better engine to grab the intake is a lot closer to the longitudinal engine and from the look of it the rest of it is somewhat close. I could make it work once I got a different transmission.
  4. 700r4 is the tranny I need. the 2.8l out of the citation engine would work. I think; weren't those rear wheel drive or was that the cevette I'm thinking of?
  5. Once again Ace is 100% right. from questions I have seen him answer and then researched myself later I can tell Ace is on the ball.
  6. Good idea on swapping a monte engine in
  7. The one time I don't do a search there is already a thread about it. Sorry to the admins.
  8. Yes the gold/brown stripes are the only ones offered. Which makes it really hard when you want to paint it a light color.
  9. I was in the hobby shop last night and picked up this kit. I have never owned this kit before but I do know that it used to be a snap kit. Upon opening the box this is what your greeted with. Looking the parts over there is very little flash and I found only one sink mark which was on the roof that needs to be filled. I did some pre-assembly to check out a few things the parts fit well together with the exception of the hood to the body. As you can see the hood was a little warped but it is easily fixed. Over all I give this kit a B+ it will be a fast fun build. the reason it only got a B+ are #1 I think revell should of offered a second set of Z28 decals in another color. #2 I think the tires are a bit undersized tomorrow I'm going to measure the distance from the tire to wheel well on my third gen to see how far off. lastly the part count brings down the overall grade. One last opinion this would be a great kit for the young model builder who wants to move up from snap kits. This is exactly what I'm going to do with my gf's son. For awhile there this generation was missing from the shelves. You could buy a 1st.,2nd.,4th. & 5th. Revell brought this kit back to fill the gap and I am very glad they did!
  10. I found a couple things at bandit resins that I was thinking of picking up. has anyone bought stuff from bandit? if so how was quality and service?
  11. At first I was going to post this in resin and aftermarket but thought maybe a kit was produced with one of these engines? Do any of you know where I could find a chevy 60° V-6 the sizes were 2.8L 3.1L & 3.4L I looking for a londgitudinal version like the ones that came in the S-10 I think they also came in firebirds and camaros thanks for any info
  12. I picked up this kit today I will write a review and snap a few picture once i get home
  13. Thank you again ace you saved the day. I was going to use .08 rod but now I can go smaller. Which is great because I need every bit of room I can get.
  14. I think they came on a 1953 uggggggllllyyyy I could be wrong it might of been a 52 why would a person change the stock tailights they were beautiful on the fords. You can't improve on perfection.
  15. Can I get a couple guys to snap pictures of 4 link you have built one of the cars I'm working on is theAMT 53 stude. Well I built a frame for it so I can fit those big slicks between the fenders. But I need a little help with the 4 link thanks again guys. Oh I I know I have to many irons in the fire.
  16. Wow thank you Ace I learned a lot!!
  17. I have been looking for info on the lincoln/latham engine that comes in the AMT double T kit. But have found zip-o-. I don't know a whole lot about fords or lincoln for that matter. Would I be correct that it's a lincoln big Y block? What was the horsepower of a lincoln? Was the latham aftermarket or factory option? About how much horsepower would be added by bolting on a latham? What is the possible cubic inches for that motor? I found a couple pictures of a latham supercharger but they were for a corvair and bonneville. Any info you may have I would be greatful for.
  18. Wow when I started reading this thread I had a chuckle or two, but then I thought why not put stuff of that nature in now? Great stuff you guys totally dynomite.
  19. Does anybody make resin copies of the old buick finned brake drums? Do any kits come with them? Just wondering I'm not going to buy a whole kit for the drums
  20. I got there this weekend too. I love looking at the top shelves of the car aisle because you never know what you find up there I grabbed one model that caught my eye it had a copy right date of 1972 I had to pass on it because the G.F. Would of killed me when she saw the $85 price tag. I spent over an hour and a half in there.
  21. I have one of those hobbico healing cutting mats. I had it in storage for over a year. I did have it stored on a flat service until my girlfriend went into storage and moved it. When I took it out it was warped I tried placing weight on top of it for about a week but it didn't help. Does anybody have any ideas on how I can flatten it out?
  22. Ya that 83 kit has the crossfire 305. Wasn't there a third gen camaro that was blue and wasn't ever a snap kit?
  23. I don't know a ton about these cars but I do know my Camaro. My brother bought it brand new in 86 it was the new 87s. I got the car five years later. it is the original 305 TBI with dual snorkels. I know a friend with a 90 and that is TPI. Single snorkel
  24. Two odd laws in MN but once you think about them they make sense. No one in MN can own a switch blade unless your a one armed man/women If you touch a disabled persons wheelchair in malice intent you will be charged with assault
