  1. Man Chris, if that chassis was painted black you wouldn't even be able to tell you made changes to it! Nice job on the updates.... Sounds like we have a bidding war going on here for your finished project! Sorry I am broke... Christmas got to my wallet to beat out Jim and his bid. Only if Scale Hardware put in a bid, I am sure Chris would bite then... lol since he has so much stock in scale nuts and bolts.
  2. LOL... if anything that should straighten things out. Or help you with those jagged lines maybe... lol Anyway, you did an outstanding job in pin stripping your graphics. Now when you clear you will have to do it multiple times and sand that part down to get that pin strip to lay down flat, or you will have a hump when you lay clear over it.
  3. At one point it was mentioned it was going to be available. But not sure in what scale or if it was this specific body. It looks awesome even at this stage.
  4. Very impressive work you did, and I don't feel like you have painted yourself into any corner! You should be very proud of yourself and what you accomplished! Just tape it off and shoot it will Alclad Chrome or the HOK Mirror Chrome and you will be golden.
  5. How funny Chris... that is why I like my Android phone and the 4.5" screen. I view the site in regular desktop or also called Classic mode and don't mess with the Mobile nonsense. You loose a lot of the Editing functionality and such.
  6. Thanks Kyle, this is pretty close to what I am looking for. Looks like this body doesn't run the larger wheel tubs that cut into the back split window.
  7. I was looking at this Turbo build today, I really like the hood almost makes me want to build up a turbo car. I can't tell if it is an optical illusion or not but it looks like in front of the wheel well it is also lengthened. This is why I was hoping to get a more straight on side view. I appreciate the pictures guys... I really like the True Fire Vette as well. By any chance did they say who painted the True Fire? Mike Levalle by chance?
  8. By chance anyone have any large JPEG pictures of side shots of the 63 Pro Mod Corvette? I have found all kinds of head on and diagonal side shots but nothing that would help me from the side for scaling purposes. I have looked at some of the members Photobucket sites, but the issue is when you try and blow them up they are really bad on the computer. I hate when Photobucket and others reduce the size of the picture. This is what I run into.... I can see the rear fenders are much deeper and go into the original rear window line. But I can't see how this changes the rear window line or the back deck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,
  9. I agree, I would hit up TIM... they have a 4 barrel carb just not on the site. I am sure Tim could get it added and scaled down to 1/16 so you can purchase as many as you would like.
  10. Yep, easy way around that is intercoat clear.... and Oneshot striping paint. If you mess up just use some laquer thinner and wipe it off and start over. I would go with a "Process Green" or "Process Blue" using striping paint and a striper will get you much better results and a much finer line.
  11. Others can quote me if I am wrong. But Pro Mod was originally from NHRA and there are differences from like ADRL that sanctions Extreme Pro Mod. One of the big things is NHRA for Blown the largest Super Charger allowed is a 14-71 blower, vs. ADRL you can use a PSI or up to an 18-71 blower and even use Nitros, where NHRA if you use a blower NOS is not allowed. These are just a few things. Niko, the best bet is to hit up ADRL's site and NHRA and get the Guidelines/Requirements for each.
  12. Oh... man Joe, Those front wheels look OUTSTANDING! I might have to pick up a set of those for my 65 Pro Mod Corvette, I plan on making. Again, I am very impressed with your scratch building on the chassis and your pedals looks sweet! Keep up the great work.
  13. Your paint job looks really cool! As for pinstripes...I hate to say it, especially with all those small jagged lines you have. It would look better having a pinstripe, but I think you are going to drive yourself crazy trying to do it.
  14. Thanks Darryl, I should have read the entire post before getting so excited...
  15. I agree... very cool project... and the chute bags open.. I am still waiting patiently on your How To... on those chutes... LOL
  16. Very cool set up you have going there.... Isn't it a pain with all the other parts dictating what size something must be... it makes us all wait that much longer to get our projects done... lol Keep up the great work.
  17. Outlaw105, Tyrone, Joe, Andy... Thanks guys for the complements it means a lot... I really need to spend more time working on my project, instead of admiring all the great projects by all of you! This forum is just BAD NEWS for me... I see great projects and want to incorporate different things from each on my project and I think that is what drives me insane... I know... I know... I should just build and finish and use the techniques for another build.. But I just can't get myself to do that. Outlaw105, you beat me to it, I was going to post but it looks like you found out. For others the Bellhousing is turned aluminum from Micronitro (jim). He did an awesome job and left the flange wide enough for me to cut it however I wanted.
  18. Thanks Chris for the complement! yep the bellhousing is what Jim turned for me with the TDR with the front section, two middle sections and a reverse housing slid onto a 3/32" rod. Thanks to Comp1839 for some measurements, I have been able to scale down a block and get actual deck height. So the rod is where my crank shaft would actually be. You were reading my mind! My plan is to hit up Jim and see if he can turn me some pistons and a crankshaft! So we will see just how far this goes in hitting "Insanity"!
  19. Wow... it has been some time since I have made any posts. Just got back from the Philippines for work and had Friday off, to get acclimated to the US time again. So I thought I would get back to work on my block. Here are a couple quick pics of where it sits today. I still have to surface the deck after inserting the cylinders it sort of warped the deck surface. My next project is to work on the Valley section then the bottom end for the crank mount then to the rear to get the back part made right to mount up the flywheel and bellhousing. Enough talk, here are the pics. lol.... Still need to trim the Bellhousing down and to the shape I want to look like a Trick Titanium Can.
  20. I hear that.... I get tired of working on the chassis as well and start working on small details. Great updates... keep them coming!
  21. Oh man..... this is going to be another mouth watering project that I will be forever coming back to!
  22. Those wheels are going to look killer on your project!
  23. That looks pretty darn close.... Looking good!
  24. I agree with everyone else, great body work!! I see it looks like you are adding behind the rear tire to the lower body/rockers? I am sure you have a lot of work to do on the back side, but I almost say it starts to lose its shape when adding that lower portion.
  25. Man Joe!!!! I am so impressed with your work!!! So just to clear up my confusion.. the seam on the tunnel is then on the bottom or the passengers side? And will you be putting the wrapped tubing on the bottom of the tunnel as well?
