  1. That Stance is down right bad a__ __! This build is going to BAD. In a good way of course.
  2. I don't know if it is a Gasser or an Altered.... but it is a very nice build. You should be very proud of what you accomplished. Love the orange, nice paint job.
  3. Very cool build, I have always like the Willys be it a car or truck. Definitely will be peeking in on the progress of this one!
  4. Very cool looking dragster, nice job with the dog dishes and torque thrust fronts. I am with Brett... but don't let that stop you building what you like!
  5. yeah... that would be cool... After being corrected, if not Turbo's, even going SuperChargers with NOS would be a cool way to go... Gotta go big or go home! Make it like this 63 corvette! This one would fit the bill, as it is "LiL Evils" 69 or 68 Camaro.
  6. Man Charlie, that engine looks like it has been driven pretty hard. I really like that weathering technique you used, I will have to give that a try. That Blonde in that pic Edgar shared, looks scary. Big hair and skin and bones, and white as a sheet.... yikes!
  7. The Chassis looks outstanding Chris! Great accomplishment taking it almost all the way down to bare nothing and building it back up. Having it stand on it's own four wheels is an accomplishment in itself having know how far this thing was disassembled. Almost a shame to put primer on it and cover up what work you have done.
  8. I agree with Double D use Tenax or Ambroid. I use the latter and find this stuff better than CA glue because it welds the two pieces together. CA glue will break apart and you would need to do the fishmouth. Using a styrene weld will actually mold the two pieces together because of the chemical reaction. And a plus of not sticking your fingers together. As for your A pillar bars the top portion is to long pushing you to far forward, giving you that bowing issue you are talking about. can't tell, but is there a reason you are not building directly to the stock chassis?
  9. For wheels I would hit up Micronitro I am sure he can do up a set for you. What Dave said, you don't have to do it box stock unless that is what you are going for. TDR is a good place for 1/8 or you can always get styrene and build your own from scratch. Stump has a great engine built scratch.
  10. Very nice, love the 32 3 window's and 5 window coupes... I gotta ask, where did you get those wheels? Those look really good with the build.
  11. Myself I would do it up in Pro Touring Motif... big and smalls, it would look good in that metallic orange you have the body in.
  12. Yep for bolts your best bet would be Scale Hardware, they have actual scale bolts or you can purchase the simulated ones that don't have threads. Other wise purchase Hex styrene cut to size for the bolt head and scale styrene rod weld together with Ambroid and make your own.
  13. Welcome and sounds like a fun build, I will be keeping an eye out for it! I can help with some of the things. Really we would need to know are you wanting to build to Scale or are you looking to just build the car to what looks good? The reason why I say this is, they are two different things and will dictate just how you build up your car. Your .20 solid line, is this a type O? or did you mean .020? If you are building to scale .20x24 (which is the scale you are building) would make that line 4.8". Your other question about making a blower blanket, same as a tranny blanket, most use medical tape and then just use marker to paint it black.
  14. Oh my... I am way to old to try and squint to make something like that. Great job building that "Rice" burner...litterally... but that up to a grain of rice and it would put burn marks all over it! LOL
  15. Ok Jeff we are 4 days into the new year, so you gotta have some updates for us?
  16. Very cool looking, so this is what my grandparent 38 Plymouth would have looked like as a gasser. Love the color, I am like a bug, drawn to bright colors.. And that grille looks awesome , nice touch.
  17. I agree, nice job on the engine detail! Definitely looks the part.
  18. Great detail tyrone... nice job on the Polishing and the foil job. Myself I like the understated 5 slots, better than the large 22" wheels. I would love to drive that 396 around town and lower the front just a bit so that the rim would be right to the top of the wheel well. That would be hot to take out for a cruze on a summer night.
  19. Nice build, don't see the pic you are loosely building off of. Is it more of a Hot Rod or Rat Rod? Anyway I will be watching this one close to see what happens. Gotta love opening doors and anything else you can make function.
  20. That's OK Joe.... I got your back... I see it lurking back there as well! Derrick is holding out on us.... Oh as well, if anyone is interested Flashpoint has that 65 Mustang Pro Mod up on the site now! But back to the build, this looks tough, I just hope I can pull off this kind of detail work on my engine... Very impressive, it looks like a million bucks.
  21. Thanks Jim for the update, I was wondering how things were coming along. I agree, I think the spring wire looks a bit big making it look bunched together. If you don't find the pins, isn't piano wire stainless? I can send you some if needed.
  22. Very cool looking, would love to see it up close because it has a lot of little details going on. Not keen on the surfboard looking front fenders, but love the surfboard shop motif you have mixed in with the Rat Rod look. Really like the Tiki's inside and outside on the back corners. Are those the tail lights?
  23. Very interesting Mike, not every day someone has pictures of the under side of a race car. Very useful pics!
  24. I know don't you hate it when you have to take all of these things into account when building. If I was building a real chassis, I wouldn't have any hair left, because I would have pulled it all out. It is bad enough it is grey... Don't want to be bald yet! On mounting the front clip, I see the mounts that look like a fish mouth but trying to figure how to mount them up with the small basket section which holds the tanks is beyon me.. Someone that has only been to 2 ADRL events, and don't race 1:1's.
  25. Cool little tut.. Joe. It amazes me how you can do these small details with such a simplistic process and have it turn out like it took hours to accomplish! As for the diora project, I was beginning to wonder if it was going to be resurrected. (darn predictive text on my phone selects the word I don't want all the time!)
