  1. I thought I would post a quick update for everyone on the work I did yesterday and early this morning so I could finish it up. Needless to say I have over 10hrs of work in the Mock up and fab of the pedal assembly and Hand brake. Everything functions, just like on a 1:1 clutch pedal with linkage, and the brake pedal connected to hand brake. I fabed up the brake handle and laminated the pistol grip just like a real one would have two separate pieces, only thing I have to finish is drilling the two small holes in the grip for the aluminum rod to look like screws. I don't think everything will fit, so first I will throw up the pictures. Then if you have any interest, I have also made a small clip so you can see the parts in motion. Let me know what you think, because my eyes are paying the price now. Oh.. and Scale Hardware will be seeing an order from me soon!... Darn screws and nuts go flying when your tweezers snap shut.. LOL I even when as far as to lighten up the pivots for the pedal assembly by drilling the holes around the rod to match the 1:1 reference I have. Close up Picture: pic of the Hand Brake with pistol grip, with the connections to the brake pedal and you can see the fabed brackets as well.
  2. Looking good Joe, looks like it was easier for you to work it up the way I used on mine. Total how many hrs do you have in the A Pillars and windshield bar?
  3. Looks nice, love the paint scheme and it looks like your finish laid down really smooth for your decals. The last picture does it have a clear coat over the decals or do you still have that to do? Last pic, it even looks like you have laid down some clear coat already. Keep up the great work on this kit and make sure to show us the next set of updates.
  4. Nice build you have in that Mopar.... when I saw the Lenco shifter, I was wondering if that came from Scott (futurattraction).... he has a lot of nice PE stuff he has been putting together. I bought his 9" ford rear end, 4Link and some other things from him when he was at a show here in Kansas.
  5. Man Joe, that engine is out right awesome looking. You will have to keep that body propped up so it doesn't hide all that work you have done on it. I have said this before.. but that "426" belt guard is really a nice touch for a detail to the overall build.
  6. Very cool work indeed.... I am curious to know what soldering iron you are using. I seem to burn up my tips when soldering slot car chassis. I did use the "Stay BRITE silver solder". The liquid flux seems to flow the solder much better as well. Got any tips for us beginners?
  7. First off welcome to the forum... Now that is cool, chopped and channeled 32. Just amazing work and even in 1/4 scale... Great work!
  8. Then I would go with Pro Track aluminum wheels front and back or have Micronitro turn you a set.
  9. Yep I agree, it looks pretty darn sweet! I want to see some doors on that puppy.
  10. Can you be a bit more specific as to what type of drag wheel you are looking for? Something from the 70's and 80's era or current? Are you wanting Resin or Aluminum? Madmodeling and Scalemodeling by Chris, the resin wheels are the old style Slot mags by the likes of American Racing, or Weld and Centerline 80's style drag wheels. Competition Resin, has a few more recent styles, but if you are looking for aluminum... you have 3 options. JPS (not sure if he is still making wheels), Pro Track (slot car wheels) or custom turned wheels (anything you can dream up) by MicroNitro.
  11. I agree, it would have been a lot easier to begin with that in the first place, but then where is the fun in starting with the end product right Niko? Very nice start, on a lot of body mods needed for that stock Beretta body... let alone that chassis pan. I know you can do it though just based on your other projects you have posted pics of! My only suggestion would be to take the pic as a reference and work your rear fenders to look more like the model. Get those tires tucked back under the fenders where they belong on like a Sportsman or SG car.
  12. Man, as usual I am getting schooled by the master! Awesome job on the rear end housing, it is coming a long really nicely. I am looking forward to where you put the wheelie bar tabs and where you put the tabs for the Wishbone.
  13. Rick, Robert, Greg, Scott, Niko... I really appreciate you stopping in and checking out the updates and the words of encouragement! Because I know I have bitten off a pretty big bite, in my plans to accomplish a detailed engine block. My plan is to get some more updates for everyone this week, since I am on PTO this week. So I am hoping to have more updates either on the block or the Chassis, we shall see.
  14. Thanks Steven for that insight... That seals it then... Thanks for making me spend money! J/k... I appreciate the insight.
  15. Nice little 32, looks like Stacy Davids Rat Roaster.
  16. Merry Christmas everyone! Tyrone... Now that is money right there! Love the detail out back with the shut off switch.
  17. Looking good Niko! I have been eyeing this set at the local hobby store. This is the same one with the double dragster and metal Tin?
  18. Nice slot cars... I like the Fiat and the Anglia the most.
  19. WOW... it looks like this build was brought back from the dark abyss of the Drag Racing forum... any updates on this cool project? Nice aluminum parts as well... very cool!
  20. Niko, I like the update with the roll bar and removing the diagonal bar. Before it didn't look right and now it is spot on, as a 1:1 for mounting up the shoulder harness. Keep the updates coming!
  21. Those look really nice and even have the curve to the "Moon Equipment Co.". Only thing I see wrong is the eye's are looking the wrong direction based on the first pic of the real truck. Pretty darn close though. This is an awesome build, and glad I stopped in and checked this out. Great job on resurrecting the glue bomb, it looks like brand new.
  22. Nice header flange Niko! I like the stance as well... if anything it looks like the rear end needs to be moved back just a smidge. Rear Tire is to close to the front of that rear wheel opening. Remember the slicks would expand some, and they would be slamming up against that rear quarter panel like crazy. In this class are you allowed to open up the fender wells?
  23. Thanks Jeff, I really appreciate the complement.... well I guess I will just have to do better next time. Maybe when I get to the timing gears and the flywheel and 11" Billet Clutch assembly... that will tickle your fancy! LOL Chris, Brad Joe.... I appreciate you stopping in and taking a gander, it sounds like you all approve of the progress. Jim, I think you are on a close pace with what I am thinking. I am seriously thinking of putting it on a engine block rolling stand, with all the hoses hanging down.. but we will see. I would like to have it so that you could actually pick it up and put it into the car, and just connect a few hoses and it would look finished... but maybe I am dealing with the wrong scale.
  24. Thanks Brad for the complement! I don't know the first thing about casting things. But I would venture to say with all the holes and such, this block would be very difficult to cast. It would be nice to cast it, I wouldn't have to work as hard the second time around trying to build another one.
  25. Looking good, and even the scale of the Ross Gibson block looks good in the rail.
