  1. WOW all I can say is Jim is definitely a stand up guy when it comes to concerns. Jim not only do you impress me with your work but also with your customer service in helping out the small guy with concerns with your end product! This is what keeps the regular repeat customers coming back and new ones waiting in the wings to have you create parts for them. Sorry Chris, I just had to commend Jim for everything he has done.
  2. Nice, that is cool that you figured in the bolt pattern into the program to compensate for hubs and wheels. Chris, maybe you just weren't sticking your tongue out the right side of your mouth to line of the holes. LOL
  3. Thanks Chris, I think I actually have that same kit, what is awesome about it, is it also comes with photo etched pedals and the 5 or 6 point harness, that I would only need to swap over to a 7 point. That sucks about the hubs not matching up with the wheels. I guess that is one thing that always hurts when you have things made at different times. I am sure Jim is probably cussing up a storm then on mine as well, since he hasn't started the center section for my wheels.
  4. I have to agree with Brett, you did an outstanding job on the detail! I really like the moving front wheels and the fuel cap being removable.. nice attention to detail all around great job!
  5. Nice Disc brake rotors Chris are those from the PE kits that ProTech makes?
  6. Nice Job Tyrone. I agree with Wayne bring them all so everyone can see them up close.
  7. The build looks great from what I can see of it. Do you have any recent pics that were not shot in the Dark?
  8. Nice progress on the chassis Brent! I have always liked the Vega for the fact that they are small and you can do a lot with them on a budget. I am more of the fan of 70-71 split bumper's. And of course my all time favorite full bumper Vega right now is the Woolly Mammoth (76 Vega wagon) from "Pinks All Out".
  9. Nice start on the mock up, very interesting Fuel Altered project. I don't think I have seen any around here with a six banger and turbo combination.
  10. Great job on the pain, decal and clear work... now onto the tedious part of color sanding, polishing and waxing it out.
  11. Oh man Joe, you are killing me on the fantastic detailing work! That tire Rack looks perfect right down to the oil reserve tank and mount.... great detail.
  12. You beat me to it.... that 572 would be my suggestion!
  13. Randy, Niko and Jeff..... Thank you all for the kind words of encouragement. I really like how the bottle mount is coming out, just struggling a little bit with the cut outs on the very top bracket. The cut outs are so small that my miniature tools don't have much room to file anything down. My end result is to make it so the 3 T Handles are functional and will screw off to take the top bracket off. Thanks to Jim's (micronitro) talent, looks like I may be switching gears here soon and working either more on the engine block and tranny or rear end housing and get those Hubs/Rotors mounted up.
  14. I would have never thought to use O rings. I was thinking of cutting the end off of something like a Bicycle rubber brake cover that is acordianed.
  15. Jim... you can't see it right now.. but I have a grin from ear to ear seeing what you have turned out! That bell housing looks nice, I almost hate to cut into it to make the inspection window!
  16. WOW Chris..... I don't need to look any further for a scale reference as to what size Hex bolt or nut I need.. When I have an extensive reference guide right here in front of me! This is just awesome for anyone to reference. Thanks!
  17. Whether it looks accurate or not, I say it looks darn impressive! I really like your extra details on the trunk lid. Did you do anything special to the hinge mec. to get it stay open? Or was it just the hinge point you used that balanced it out? Either way very cool that you were able to get it to stay open without the added prop sometimes needed.
  18. Hey Niko, actually from a Slot Car perspective it does matter because the Back Wheels you are limited to about 3 diameters ( 1 1/16 up to 1 5/16" then come in different widths). I use to build Drag Racing Slot cars and stopped due to my local track the owner passed away and no one wanted to take the shop over. The thing that can be done is to change out the front tires, since they don't touch the track anyway he could run regular Front Runners. You know... less touching the track, the less resistance you have and the faster your car can potentially go based on weight displacement and motor.
  19. Hey Michael Thanks for thinking of those of us that build 1/16 stuff... Not sure if I can say with absolute certainty what everyone uses.. and really based on the parts someone purchases these sizes could change. My questions are: 1. What is the diameter of the tube you'll use for your rear axles? I need to set the hole size for the 4-link suspension to match. My Answer to this is make the hole small and give the purchaser the option to bore the hole out as needed to fit. Better to be smaller then to big. Really like I said it depends on the builder, what one may think the size is needed for the axle may be bigger or smaller depending on the Rear Axle housing being used. 2. What diameter do you use for your roll cages? I need to make sure the suspension brackets will fit around them. I know for me I use .100" diameter styrene Rod which works out to 1 5/8" in 1:1 scale, some use .125. So are you making your parts to actual SCALE or to fit the needs of most? 3. Lastly, What size screws do you use to connect your suspension pieces (Tie Rods, Suspension Links, etc) to the brass mounts? 00-90? 0-80? 1-72? I've never built at 1:16 so i'm not sure what you would go with? If you are only talking to the rear 4-Link mounts most will use 00-90 size scale hardware. The concern is coming that Scale Hardware if moving away from US threads and going metric. To stay at this same size it would be the 1.4mm which would be very close to the same size. Anything up front, for myself I think the 00-90 becomes out of scale and a smaller size is needed. So again, this is really based on the builder. I'll reformat the plates to fit, and also plan on some weld drag racing beadlocks scaled to 1:16. thanks for your input. Sounds like you have a lot of cool things on the Horizon planned. As for 1/16 wheels, my suggestion would be to make sure that they are sized to fit any current Tire available... IE: Flashpoint and have some sort of Back spacing... or you will find issues with fitment. My biggest complaint about the resin ones currently, is they are not centered to be perfectly round, and the detail is some what lost in the casting process. Other than that, I wish you luck and bring on those aftermarket parts! You should have a lot of success, especially if you make Carbs for the NOS guys.
  20. Looks great from here, even with the white showing through, since part of the body is painted in white. Oh and I purchased the Other Forums Magazine today with your 70.5 Pro Mod Camaro build in it...!!! Nice to see your work being published on paper as well.
  21. Very nice, I dont have any way of knowing but is that styrene strong enough to hold that bulky tire/Wheel combo? I say a scale winch would have looked pretty cool from RC4WD on there so you could lift it up and down.
  22. NOW this Starter Bracket looks mighty darn cool... It is a shame it is painted black, because it all blends into the blower face plate. Very impressive in deed Greg! Very Impressive!
  23. Looking good Joe, now refresh my memory. Is this your truck or a customer you are building for?
  24. Now that is cool, if you didn't say it was a model I would have sworn it was real. How did you get it so the tires look almost flat on the Passengers side?
  25. Just awe... inspiring Darryl! I am afraid to even ask, but that trailer did you detail the inside as well?
