  1. Each time this thread comes to the top of the board, I’ve taken a look. Niche? Your focus is on the most generic, popular categories of auto modeling. Nothing unique or special there. Niche is a small area of interest. Dave Darby’s Survivor board... Terry Jessee’s Resin only board, these are niche.
  2. Dave just count your lucky stars that you are in an area off the beaten track where you don’t have worries. I am in a Philadelphia suburb, close to the epicenter of the New York / New Jersey metro area. Quite a different story here. We MUST wear masks in stores for good reason. We all know people who have been affected. My favorite postal counter clerk died. Our friend’s mother died. My sister in law tested positive, now the rest of her immediate family is going for testing. This week alone my son in law, a professional firefighter, had to be tested because a co-worker is sick. My wife’s brother, who works in a mail sorting center was displaying symptoms and sent home for testing yesterday. There have been multiple cases in that facility. Both my daughters in NJ know people who have died, or have lost family members. A guy I graduated high school died this week as well as a bartender from one of our favorite restaurants. And they’re finding new things about the virus all the time. It was thought kids weren’t affected, now they are. New hot spots are popping up. I’m for erring on the side of caution right about now!
  3. Nice project! I know that camper doesn’t come with an interior but it’s not all that hard to create something if you’d like. I can help with more photos etc. It’s all straight cuts on basswood and Evergreen sheet.
  4. I owned this one in the late 1970s. Six cylinder automatic, I need to build it! I look forward to watching your build!
  5. Junction, Petticoat Junction!
  6. Or sleep six! ?
  7. Yes people will be buying the kits just to get the motorcycle! Smart move.
  8. Wow! My PT Cruiser turbo HO has more horsepower than all these V8s
  9. Hey Rich! I was thinking about you, so I’m glad you posted, are well and staying safe! You are in one of the safer counties which is a blessing! We are staying at home, taking our daily no contact walks in the neighborhood. Once a week I go grocery shopping and beer pickup, and we haven’t even had take out food. We’ve been cooking here and doing a fair share of grilling. Getting some model building done, doing yard work and house organizing, and somehow the days and weeks have been going fast. My wife and daughters were talking about getting together for Mother’s Day. I was concerned about driving into New Jersey since it’s in the Covid epicenter and although we aren’t far away in the Philadelphia suburbs it’s still a lot safer here. They were reasoning that we’ve all been staying isolated so it should be relatively safe. And we’d stay distanced in their back yard. Today that all fell apart. My son in law is a professional firefighter and someone in his work tested positive. So he’s going for testing this afternoon. And we are staying home! My wife’s brother works for the post office in a large sorting center in NJ. He had been sent home to isolate about a month ago because someone on his shift tested positive. He shares a house with a friend who also was exposed and spent time isolating. He has been going to work as essential, and now he’s feeling funky and going for testing. It’s getting real here on the east coast.
  10. I have wondered this myself since the 1974-76 body is so different. It would be cool if it showed up!
  11. Yes you will need dedicated P.E. cutters. I keep mine in the box with my P.E. parts to avoid grabbing it on the bench to cut something else. This will dull them rendering them useless. It looks like you have a resin grill? The P.E. kit is probably for a stock grill opening.
  12. I've been playing with Jeepsters. I did a lot of Internet snooping and decided to build the pickup version with a 4 cylinder, which led to my digging through a box of Jeep junkers I have where I found several candidate engines. I'm piecing one together now. I also discovered that the Jeepster body has the two tone trim not there on the one color trucks. So I carefully sanded that all off yesterday. Cleaning up body divets. adding a few missing panel lines and should be nearing primer soon!
  13. Cool! Nice job, I’d love to have that in my garage!
