Very very cool! I never realized it until now but the Countach really does have the perfect lines and attitude to be a post apocalypse killing machine. They already look like that when they`re clean and shiny.

Thanks guys. Teddy, I cant even put into words the love I have for this truck and what it means to me to be able to build it again as I tribute to my Nephew so many years later. I honestly didn`t think I would ever be doing this. Carl, the color is a Krylon Fusion color called Sunshine Yellow. It`s BRIGHT!

"Good Junk" I like that a lot. I just checked out the old junk truck. Somehow I missed that thread. I dig it! I`ve spied a few more goodies at Deans that I`ve been tempted to get but my stash is already big enough. My LHS actually has a huge selection of models and accessories ( the guys that own it are avid model builders and total r/c nerds) but they only carry new stuff. I like some of the older and hard to get goodies that I`ve seen on Deans.

DECALS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldnt resist it last night and had to finish the hood. They actually went on quite well for 37 yr old decals, Id be lying if I didnt say I was nervous about it. Not too far to go now and the old girl will be done. Seeing as how it is a shop truck I figured it needed some dash decals

I`ve never heard of it either. What an awesome idea!

I`d buy one in a heartbeat. I never used to like the looks of the Cheetah but in the past few years I `ve come to like it a lot, much more than a Cobra in fact. Its got such an in your face look to it.

Thanks Monty. I got incredibly lucky finding this one. When I saw the price and that it was still sealed, I couldn`t get my wallet out fast enough. The way I do the Valve covers is to first strip the chrome off of them, about an hour in SuperClean works well. After that I BMF`d the top of the valve cover around the fins. After the BMF is done I spray the valve cover in 2 light coats and the let it dry overnight. The next day I lightly sand off the paint on the fins and lettering using 800 grit paper. The reason I strip the chrome first is that I find the chrome is much thicker than the bmf and you will get much more detail and a better result by doing it this way. That and you will get a better paint finish when you spray the bare plastic rather than the chrome. For this job I used Krylon Bbq Paint. I really like the way it works. It`s very black and dries in a nice sheen, it covers well, dries fast and you can get very nice coverage in 2 light coats, its also inexpensive and a can lasts forever. Hope that helps

Detailing vs Disability
A.R.C. replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I hope this is of some help Carl. A trick I use on some models that have too faint of a line to follow is to tape the outside edge of the area you want to Foil ( I prefer to use a good vinyl painters tape such as 3m Fine Line simply because to adheres well to any shape, forms well around a tight curve and is you can emboss a much nicer line againt it than against a regular masking tape). Once the tape is laid down do your foiling and then emboss it down to your surface making sure you form a nice crisp line against the edge of the tape. This gives a very defined line to follow with your blade which in your case may make it easier to cut a straight line. After cutting is finished simply pull of the tape and you usaully get a nice result. I`ve even found that running your fingernail on that line a few times will cut through the bmf and leave you with a line that is just as nice as if you`ve cut it with a blade. I`ve done this on a few curves that are too tough to follow with a blade and have had very good results. Ultimately...just keep building and enjoy it man. The quality of your builds are always extremely good anyway, even without bmf. -

Looks good Nick. Those are cool cars. A friend in high school had one, he used to bag the BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH out of it. He eventually blew the motor in the school parking lot being a cool guy.

Nice work Brandon, it looks great! Those 250`s are arguably the most beautiful thing on 4 wheels.
