  1. Very nice work! The detail is excellent.
  2. Won a bid last night on eBay for a '73 Mercury Cougar gluebomb. Should be easy to rebuild.
  3. I was thinking the same thing.
  4. Hey, on some of the kits we build involving woodgrain, has anyone out there tried Washi tape? I just found this and wondered if it works as well as I would hope. http://www.wishywashi.com/product/wood-grain-washi-tape
  5. This looks like a really nice kit, I'm impressed. May have to pick one up.
  6. Outstanding! Looks awesome!
  7. Absolutely gorgeous! Excellent work!
  8. The paint job is awesome. I love that color. I'm never sure how to interpret that color on the undercarriage of most newer cars. I can't tell if it's a grey, tan, or what. Last few I've done have been kind of a coppery/tan color.
  9. Really sad. I hate to see things like that.
  10. Got in a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado convertible, mildly gluebombed but in nice shape overall. Also got a mostly intact "Dr. Crook's Travelling Medicine Show" Show Rod. I can make any missing pieces. Even the decals are workable.
  11. Your work on this is amazing. And I wouldn't worry about the watermarks, they aren't that distracting.
  12. I think brass is gonna be the way I go when I rebuild my 1/12 Cord. It fell off a shelf and a lot of the suspension snapped. I don't think sheet styrene is gonna be strong enough to hold that beast up.
  13. Sorry to hear about losing another LHS. port seem to be growing slightly. They're getting fewer and father between.
  14. I've thought seriously about making a casting of the engine from the Revell Challenger or Dodge Magnum to have a little more correct engine. The one in this kit looked a little funny to me.
  15. Got one of these, and I'd like to see a buildup. I'll keep watching.
  16. Just won and paid for a lot including a Dr. Krook's Travelling Medicine Show and a Ford EXP. Even if the Medicine Show isn't in perfect condition, I've got the stuff to rebuild it.
  17. I try to vary mine as much as possible. So far I haven't used much green, but that'll probably change.
  18. Nice score!! I've been watching for one of these. I'm curious to see how it builds up.
  19. got a 55 Chevy Pickup rebuilder and a Revell Porche slant nose.
  20. I've got one of these with the booched tires too. I found that Carrera Slot Cars carries sets of tires specifically for a Corvette Grand Sport in 1/24, and they offer blank sidewall and various tampo printed styles. They are a bit backordered.
  21. My late uncle Bobby had a Superbird almost exactly like this, nose damage and all. His was Limelight green. It was like that when he bought it about '74or '75. It sat and rusted for about 15 years, and he still ended up selling the thing for about $10k. He had a personal junkyard where he "parked" cars that weren't driveable anymore. Most of them were crushed when he passed away. He had a '70 Chrysler 300, '68 Road Runner, '73 Satellite, '69 Nova, the Superbird, and others.
  22. The color's awesome, great paint job! This is a pretty nifty looking little kit, especially for a Snap Tite.
  23. Gotta say the internet and computers. The internet itself is indispensable for research, discovering new kits, learning new techniques, etc. I may not have gotten back into the hobby if it hadn't been for the internet. My first car kit in recent years was a glue bomb of an Aston Martin DB4 that I picked up on Ebay. The kit didn't make it, but it got me back into the hobby. And computers in general. I think the newer kits that are so detailed wouldn't be possible without them.
