  1. Those above, plus add the Mobius 1953 Hudson and the Galaxie 1948 Chevy series. Both have exceptional detail.
  2. The Lindberg 71 Challenger kit. That was a Palmer, right? Yeah, it was real ugly when I opened that box. The MPC 67 GTO is pretty bad, but it was a gift. I've got one of the Trumpeter Bonneville's. It's not great, but it beats the stuffing out of the other two I've mentioned. One of their worse ones is the 1978 Monte Carlo. The engraving for the badges is off scale and thin, so they'd disappear as soon as you painted it. The engine is an unrecognizeable lump. I ended up adapting the engine out of the Revellogram Monte Carlo SS. The tires are WAAAYY off scale. They're nice tires, but they worked better for my 240Z than a Monte Carlo.
  3. The metal Packard kit is really nice, if I remember it correctly. There was a series of them, the Packard, a Jaguar XK-120, 57 T-bird and an MG, again if memory serves.
  4. One of these is going to be my next project, too.
  5. AWWWW, MAN, Those last two bring back so many memories of my old Matchbox collection. Wish I had never given those away.
  6. Very nice work! I like the GT look.
  7. I've only built one model for someone. I built up a '71 Charger base model for my brother to look like the one he had. Since it was a surprise, I didn't have to worry about matching anything too exactly and did everything from memory. He was tickled to death when he saw it and it has a place of honor in his house. But generally, I don't do anything but just for my own happiness. I have replicated two of my own cars, however.
  8. Got in a lot of six mustangs from Ebay. Two were early Fox bodies, one marked Super Cobra in yellow and the other was the Indy Pace Car in silver. Both are pretty complete, but I'm missing a wheel on the silver one. Two were 71-74 Mustangs, one a stock Mach 1 and the other was a short track racer with slicks and a roll cage. The stock one's got steelies and dog dish caps. There was also a 70 mustang that I'll probably use for parts, and a Lindberg 70something inaccurate thing that I'm just gonna chuck.
  9. The Lindberg 1/20 kits were really nice. I've got one of the Dodge Stealth kits in my stash, but I built one of them before along with the S-10. The detail was really nice. It seems to me that Lindberg got a really bad name from some kits they made that were from companies they absorbed. When it came down to their own stuff, it was usually top-notch.
  10. Overall, a really good build anyway. Sounds like a good call with the minor refurbish.
  11. I think overall the new-new beetle looks a lot more like the original. The earlier models were too rounded.
  12. I've had a lot of firsts since I got back into model building. First time using BMF, First time using lacquers, first time wiring an engine, first time using primers....
  13. I got one like that too. Everything's there but the glass. I figure I can make the windshields and I'll just cast some clear headlight lenses. I intend on building mine.
  14. Will have to have one of those! Awesome!
  15. Looks good! This was a fairly decent kit, if I remember correctly.
  16. Well, it's also the point of having the Cuda on hand. I've had one of the Chargers, but I built that into a special project for my brother.
  17. As far as headlights go, I've been drilling out the round ones and replacing with the clear part of those googly eyes for the reflectors, then casting clear resin lenses out of acrylic. I've also made tail lights the same way. You could try something like that. Alumilite makes a molding material that's a two component putty that works really well for making molds of small parts.
  18. That's really sharp! Nice work!
  19. I did a test fit out of curiosity. The chassis and wheel wells are perfect, even the wheelbase is the right length. I'll have to change the rear trunk floor a bit since the Monaco's a little longer there. I also carved out the engine compartment from the Cuda and it's really close, too. This one might be my first WIP post. As soon as I get done with the Ferrari, I'll start working on it.
  20. Got in my Force 440 Monaco today. I'm going to stuff the engine and chassis from the old Revell '71 Hemi Cuda into it.
  21. I believe he's got the 1/24 kit. Those are supposed to be really nice.
  22. I would think so. Most of the Mopars from that era were nearly identical.
  23. Just won the bid on a glue-bombed "Force 440" kit. I'm gonna swap out the chassis for something a little more advanced.
  24. Duplicolor primer from the auto parts store. Can get it in the main colors, and a big can is only about 5 bucks.
